Obviously, it's very interesting to keep covering Olivia Rodrigo because fans seem to like it.
So what I would like to pinpoint, as I've already covered a plethora of topics concerning Rodrigo, is that the landscape of music is getting spooky for hip hop.
If our hip-hop heavyweights are not dropping, we are going to completely get dominated by these different genres.
obviously we love to boast that hip hop has been the number one genre for the past what decade or so basically hip hop has been number one music genre for a while now so it hasn't been closed with any other genre the comparison the correlation i would like to make is team USA versus every other country in the FIBA world cup you have
certain status with certain countries, but they're not on the level of Team USA.
So you never really have that inclination that they can beat us.
Well, now it's almost like we're repeating history as if you don't know with Team USA.
We used to send our best college players to Team USA because we were just so, we were way more
superior than other countries. Nowadays, you can't do that because, you know, other countries have
caught up a little bit. That's the same way with music. Music, hip hop used to be number one by far.
Look at the charts. You'll see a Cardi B. You'll see a Nikki. Drake. You'll see a Tyler the Creator.
A plethora of musicians from hip hop just running the charts. Nowadays, you'll see a Morgan Wallin, Taylor Swift.
uh, John Cook from BTS, Peso Puma.
And of course, now you'll probably have Olivia Rodrigo all on the charts.
And if you think I'm joking, let's actually go to the charts right now.
Because a lot of people don't look at the landscape of music from a number standpoint.
Because of course, I mean, it's nothing wrong with listening to music just for fun.
You know, as analytic dreams, I like to cover the numbers.
So anyways.
specifically in the States,
if you look at the number one
track,
it's Zach Bryan, right?
I remember everything.
And I see Doja K in there
putting a fight.
So I'm not saying hip hop is fell off.
Like I said,
we're still Team USA to go back to basketball terms.
But it's getting a little bit more competitive
when it comes to the different genres
and who's number one in his music space.
So you have Zach Brian,
number one,
Dojie Cat number two,
Zach Brown number three
Gunna number four
So already in the top five
We do have two hip hop
But then let's keep going right
Oliver Anthony who came out of nowhere
Number five
Taylor Swift number six
Zach Brian number seven and eight
Morgan Wallin number nine
Zach Brian number 10 11 12
Molly Cyrus number 13
Zach Brian number 14 15 16
Do you get what I'm saying
Hip hop
It's starting to be dominated by other genres
And even though
it's a slow year for hip hop
we still have two in the top five so I'm not saying hip hop
is ever going to fall off because like I said I keep comparing hip hop
to team USA I don't think we could ever get just completely
dominated even in an off year but it is scary
to think that if our heavyways don't drop
country pop and other genres could just take over the charts
as far as the top 15 like for me listing that top 15
Morgan Wallen was in at least like eight of them you know
you don't even want me to go to the global charts it's going to be even worse right
when you go to the global charts you're going to see junk cook at number one because now
overseas artists all their streams are being accounted for if you don't know in the
US only the US streams accounted for the charts so that's why you probably don't see a
junk cook because they're not really counted which is unfair to them but hey just how it goes
so in global now is opened up to the world
It counting all the streams in the world.
You see John Cook from BTS, Doja Cat, Taylor Swift, Mike Towers, Billy Elish, Doolipa, Carol G.,
like, Quervito, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gunna.
So from that top 10, two hip hop tracks was in there.
And some people will probably be like, oh, Doja Cat isn't hip-hop, but I felt like she is.
So like I said, hip-hop will always be number one, but it is.
is getting spooky the way that these other genres are starting to compete.
And I want to use Olivia Rodriguez as the mascot for that.
Because with this album, Guts, if you don't think this is about to impact the charts like
Morgan Wallen did, then you're surrely mistaken.
So anyways, click my link tree in my bio.
Let me know in one of my social medias.
What do you think about Olivia Rodriguez and her track, Get Him Back, exclamation point.
Track number eight on Guts.
And if you listen to the album Guts, what is your favorite?
favorite track off of the album. And do you ever think that hip hop will be dethroned as the number one music genre in the world?
