Marvel rivals and Path of Exile are battling it out for the most popular game currently, as far as most popular new game, because of course, the most popular game will forever be a Counter Strike 2 or a shooting or sports game, right?
But as far as currently, as far as recently released, Path of Exile 2 is currently the fourth most play game on Xbox.
And as far as PlayStation, it's outside of the top 10.
When it comes to Steam, it's the fourth most play game on that platform.
But what's interesting about the dynamics between the consoles is that Marvel Rivals is the seventh most play game on PlayStation.
But Path of Exile is nowhere to be found on this list.
But when you come to Xbox, it's the fourth most play game.
on Xbox, but Marvel Rivals is nowhere to be found on that list.
So just to show you a little bit of the dynamics on consoles as far as the overview perspective,
as far as analytically, right?
So as far as Path of Exile 2, if you don't know, it's basically an ambitious action RPG sequel
from grinding gear games.
as the gameplay mechanics feature character customization new skill jams systems revamp combat
and enhanced multiplayer and as far as 19 new ascendancy classes shared world hubs with drop-in
multiplayer a new campaign a completely new campaign alongside the existing path of exile content
now when it comes to sequels people as far as as the high
have started to realize that if you put out a sequel, guess what?
People are going to watch it a little bit more because right now going with what's safe
as far as getting your value for your dollar has made it to where a lot of movies,
a lot of entertainment that has been sequels have benefited off of the previous path
that was set by the original.
I mean, just look at Inside Out 2.
Just look at Wicked 2 basically that just came out.
Look at a lot of these continuations of a franchise and them selling a crazy amount to the point where now the higher-ups are looking at it.
Like, we don't want to take any chances, just make a sequel off of the original project, which Disney, in all intents of purposes, are making sequels.
to movies we never thought we would receive a sequel to right huge side tent when I see huge small
tip bit as far as the side tangent Zootopia 2 is something I never thought I would have seen as a sequel
and now we're getting it right Incredibles 2 is something I thought we'll never get as a sequel but now
in recent times people are realizing that brings people out more especially when it comes to spending
money on your product so as far as bringing it all the way back to path of exile to it being a
equal having this substantial hold currently with it having 321 no
198,000 concurrent players as far as on the Steam platform and being a fourth most
play game on Xbox when this game come out when path of I'm not scoring like I'm 80
years old path of exile to came out December 6th 2024 so obviously is a new game but
still had a lot of attraction over time as it was really putting up numbers when it came to sales and unique
encounters as far as for people playing the game because now if you're selling a lot people who are
playing the game are talking about how it's a lot of different bosses all of them are unique and now
the the barrier to entry is lower because it's available on PC,
PlayStation 5 Xbox x slash s you realize that a lot more people are going to be able to play the game
because that's not always the case sometimes it's exclusively on playstation actually most times is
all right my fault most times the good games are exclusively on PlayStation there I said it you know
I mean to say it like that um I didn't even know I switched my camera but hey hopefully I enjoyed that
so with that being said um this particular game I believe that
the overall attraction of it
and the reason why people are playing it so much
is because of
the different ways
you can expound upon
the original path of exile.
It really takes your
it really takes your
progress
and the decisions you made
into account as far as the sequel
because not all games do that. Some games
will give you the illusion of choice
and you stay or you,
end up at the same point that everybody else did but it gave you the illusion of picking a different
path right path of exile is completely the opposite it actually showcases different pathways to go down
and now with path of exile too coming out it's just building upon the original games complex
storyline the complex skill tree a lot of the game introduces new mechanics as far as active skill
gyms that modify gameplay based on link supports as far as new multiplayer features allowing co-op
party play in world events and then of course when it comes to path of exile to just know that it's
more of a combined game experience from from a gameplay mechanics as far as allowing players to
choose between campaigns because it's a it's a combined experience
with Path of Exile, which you would think is a given,
with it being a sequel,
but not every game gives you the ability to continue the way
that Path of Exile does from your original save.
Sometimes you play the original game,
and the next game, they're like, hey, we ain't saving all that.
Just tell us these three main decisions,
and we're going to carry on.
Like, no, hold on, what about this decision?
What about that decision?
This decision?
That's why Mass Effect will forever be my favorite game,
because ultimately the decisions you make in that game really carries over to the third game.
Like one of the main characters you have on your squad towards one of the missions and Mass Effect 1,
you make a huge decision between two characters and guess what?
That character is gone for the rest of the series.
And that other character can continue story arcs all the way up to Mass Effect 3, right?
So you kind of see what I'm saying as far as a continuation of the original story versus other games that give you the illusion of choice.
So and then of course vice versa if you, I'm not trying to spoil it for anybody.
So as far as the decision you made, if you would have chose the other person, that person would have had a whole character arc all the way through to Mass Effect 3, which is why it will always be my favorite game of all time.
Anyways, I don't know how I got on a Mass Effect tangent.
See that?
See, look at me.
You know me?
We talk about path of exile.
My fault.
So back to path of exile.
As far as the free to play model, that as far as Marvel rivals is very peculiar because
they came out around the same time and they're both free to play models, right?
And the foundation has been set to where it's an ethical micro-transaction type of philosophy
similar to Marvel rivals that is currently out.
what do i mean about that basically if developers put out a game and it's free to play they don't
lock everything behind a paywall as far as the most intriguing parts of the game right the things
that's micro transactions is basically cosmetics and things that don't affect the overall gameplay
well it affects the the visual elements right and maybe some of the customization options
but it doesn't really affect some of the core foundational mechanics of the game one of the examples i
name on i gave with marvel rivals is imagine ea developing marvel rivals exactly they would have
locked spider-man iron man captain america and especially wolverine around or behind uh at least a ten dollar
paywall at least at the very least so as far as an ethical micro transaction type of model that's what i
mean about that releasing a game fully and then the cosmetic side of things are now up for
you know, purchase and things of that nature.
So that's what a lot of people
was showcasing. They said that
the soundtrack features
orchestral.
I think it's orchestral.
I'm just, you know, ours be kicking me
and the you know what, man,
ours be a whipping me.
But anyways, the orchestra,
y'all get to hear me struggle through this.
Compositions recorded
by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
and basically that was a highlight of the game a lot of people talked about the soundtrack being phenomenal
um what else so the scale customization has said to be double as far as the previous games and a lot of
players are really enjoying path of exile too so that's the review roundup of the people playing the game
as far as the major corporations as far as um game reviewers which is a you know tad bit a tad
different a tad bit different than uh people who actually play the game because of course when
you're a reviewer you have no guys going on going in there's no tips and tricks there's nothing
as far as path of ex out too like obviously the developers can tell you oh go here for this go here for
that but as far as getting a review out at a deadline it takes the joy away from it then uh
compared to a player genuinely genuinely genuinely interested in this game putting 30 to 40 hours in
and then giving you a review, right?
That's why I give both sides of the spectrum.
But with that being said, as far as,
as far as the game reviewers,
the game reviewers talking about this game,
IGN gave this an 8 out of 10
saying they praised the redefined action
and surprisingly fleshed out in-game
even in its early access state.
Eurogamer gave this 85 out of 100,
basically saying that they highlighted the game's high production values and impressive package.
No ditty.
Even in early access.
And of course, a lot of other scorers were literally eight out of tens, right?
That was the lowest that they went.
Highest being 9.5 at a 10, basically praising the game's difficulty, combat, art, and map design.
So everybody seems to love it being a general consensus from the major conglomerates,
and then everybody seems to love it from the people currently playing the game that
has it at
198,000
concurrent players on Steam
fourth most played game
on Xbox and as far as the Sony
ponies out there is nowhere
to be found on the top 10 so it really shows you
the difference
the differences of fan bases on each
and every console but
it still
doesn't take away from the fact
that Path of Exile 2 is definitely
being publicly
well
being critically acclaimed as far as for the year of 2024.
So shout out to the developers grinding gear games based in New Zealand because y'all have
undeniably made a hit.
So that being said, click my link to you in my bio.
