In a federal civil complaint filed on January 23, 2026, in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, Chad Hugo (51), co-founder of The Neptunes and N.E.R.D., accuses Pharrell Williams (52) of withholding royalties and profits, breaching fiduciary duty, concealing financial records, and systematically denying contractual and ownership rights across their iconic ventures.Hugo claims Pharrell has controlled revenues for years from The Neptunes and N.E.R.D., leaving him without his rightful share of album sales, streaming royalties, touring income, merchandise deals, trademarks, and licensing. He alleges being owed $325,000–$575,000 specifically from the 2017 N.E.R.D. album No One Ever Really Dies, with total potential damages ranging from $750,000 to over $1 million in unpaid royalties. Hugo also asserts he contributed to nearly 50 studio sessions between 2019–2021—providing production, composition, and sound design—yet was denied publishing shares, record royalties, and proper attribution as Pharrell took full credit. The dispute highlights ongoing issues with transparency: since 2021, Hugo has requested monthly statements, full financial records, third-party royalty reports, and annual accounts, receiving only limited documents. Review of these shows minimal revenue allocated to him, inconsistent with The Neptunes' massive commercial success. Hugo claims a 50% ownership interest in related entities and points to N.E.R.D. Music LLC's operating agreement (founded around 2014 with Pharrell, Hugo, and Shay Haley), which mandates routine disclosures and defined income splits—allegedly violated as Pharrell entered deals, including partnerships like Adidas, without consultation or disclosure.Hugo seeks a judicial declaration of his rights and Pharrell's obligations, full accounting, recovery of withheld profits, and punitive damages for alleged willful, fraudulent, and malicious conduct. A jury trial is requested.Pharrell's response, via statements to outlets like Billboard and USA TODAY, calls the lawsuit "premature," noting a standard accounting review is underway. His team insists there may not even be a dispute and affirms that any owed money will be paid, expressing good faith and respect for their shared history. This marks the second major clash, following Hugo's 2024 suit over Pharrell's alleged attempt to secure sole control of The Neptunes trademark—still pending into 2026 and escalating their rift to no communication. As pioneers behind hits for Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, and more—inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2022—The Neptunes' legacy now faces this high-stakes conflict amid Pharrell's prominent 2026 year.Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Starting point is 00:00:03 Now, let me just start with this. You know, Farrell Williams has an estimated net worth of $250 million. But then you come to realize there's this particular group called the Neptunes. Now, of course, back when I wasn't even thought of to be on this earth, the Neptunes was running rampant. As far as the 2000s hip-hop and R&B scene, they had their handprints all over it. Which not I think about it. Technically I did come out of it, but y'all get the point. I was a wee little lad, literally an infant, when the Neptunes was making their iconic rise to fame in hip-hop. But safe to say, Pharrell Williams was not the only person a part of that group. I know that ain't who I think it is. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is where Chad Hugo comes into play. Because of course, when he comes to the Neptunes, safe to say it was Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo that collectively made Neptune. so iconic everybody knows forrell Williams as the front facing member of the
Starting point is 00:01:09 Neptune Neptune's which is why other opportunities I believe started to come in such as the fashion industry such as him collaborating with other people by himself more recently the clips as far as let God sort them out was a major success debut in number four on Billboard 200 118,000 first week units and the reason why I'm bringing that up. It's because ladies and gentlemen, as of right now, it is nominated for five Grammy nominations, which is today, mind you. So as far as the Grammys seemingly going to represent Farrell Williams and push your T's success would let, would let God sort them out. Chair Hugo said to himself, you guys, see, that's the problem. He says, see, that's the problem.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Because guess what? I was a part of the Neptune's rise and safe to say, Ferrell Williams has held some revenue back from me but then you know what i'm saying i was like damn look at the state of hip hop like what's going on now if you're lost just no january 23rd 2026 chad hugo co-founder of neptunes and nerd n-r d sued ferrell williams alleging withholding royalties and profits breach of fiduciary fidissuary how you said that fiduciary i think that i think i said it right i don't know one of them breach of fiduciary duty concealment of financial records systemic denial of contractual and ownership rights so when it comes to that safe to say the duo that we knew as the Neptunes are no longer pleased with each other but then you know what i'm saying i was like damn look at the state of hip-hop like what's
Starting point is 00:02:53 going on and you know how i started off with ferrell williams estimated net worth well you know as far as his career the fashion industry um as far as a lot of ventures outside of that um Safe to say when you look at Chad Hugo and his ventures outside of the Neptunes, his net worth is estimated to be 50 to 60 million. So there's some type of discreference to you between 250 million but 50 to 60 million. But at the end of the day, both of these gentlemen are millionaires. But of course, that's not enough for Chad Hugo because of when you look at it. He for this particular lawsuit is wanting up to one.
Starting point is 00:03:35 million dollars now what in the you guys come on now see that's the problem now i know what y'all say oh one million dollars is a lot of money what's safe to say the average joe out there trying to scrape up some pennies is looking at these millionaires beefing over a million and saying to themselves who do they do i don't nobody care about millionaires beefing over a dollar who need do i mean technically a dollar to them but you know as far as feral and chad hugo we could care less about the dollar amount that they're owed allegedly right the main thing is why did the neptunes break up it's almost like the megos type of breakup because they had such a long run in hip-hop they were seeing as one of the great major forces especially when it comes to
Starting point is 00:04:22 their innovative approach to creating an atmosphere as far as futuristic sounds and it seems like the problem is not even that deep. As Farrell Williams came out himself and literally said that I'll see if I can find it. Yeah, Ferrell Williams literally came out and said that the lawsuit is premature. He says that
Starting point is 00:04:46 a standard accounting review is already underway and he continues saying quote, there may not even be a dispute, end quote. But overall, all the because it goes longer but let me summarize it he basically said if money is owed it will be paid so at the end of the day what are we doing brothers you guys what are we doing not here see that's the problem millionaires beefing over a dollar man I didn't seen it all I kid you not when it comes to the average fellow looking at millionaire's beefing we could say who do you know
Starting point is 00:05:20 it'd been different if he was like oh he owes me 50 to 60 right around my network the amount of money that's how much he owes me that's why he double and triples me in that work you know what I'm saying? All right, my fault. I mean, throw that random shot. I like both of them. Rone up a pulse. But as far as Farrell Williams
Starting point is 00:05:35 having a mammoth amount of money, he only owes you a million. I mean, come on now. Not a million. A million, Chad. Come on, man. Like, you got to shoot for the move. $500 a billion.
Starting point is 00:05:47 You know what I'm saying? Ferell Williams is really getting to it because once again, the estimated debt worth of $250 million that I just told you, you know, I ain't going to say it, but some people be fibbing out here
Starting point is 00:05:58 about how much they make it but that's just all I'm gonna say so as far as the discrepancy being so big as far as as feral Williams and chad hugo I don't think that's the main uh reason why chad is suing for real I think he honestly believes that he was owe that money as far as the 2017 nerd album because in a lawsuit it specifically labels how much he was owed from that as chad says he's owed 300 to 500,000. But that's from the 2017 nerd album, right? But he said the potential damages is 750,000 to over one million.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Now, of course, when he says over, you pretty much said in the maximum. Like, that's the ceiling. Like, really, you started around 300,000, my brother. Like, what are we doing? Anyways, he basically, overall, he says up to one million in unpaid royalties. And now you come to find out that both of these brothers being millionaires well off. You know, it's not really, it's not too many average fellows that's going to be relating to this type of a quarrel with another millionaire, right? Farrell Williams, of course, I already said that he basically was like, if there's something that needs to be paid, he would pay it out.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Farrell Williams seems like the type of person to where he's making so much money that a million to him is like, oh, that totally skipped my mind. one million here you go and you know that one mean like here's another one you know what I'm saying here's another one you feel me like for well he's got so much money that I don't think he's really tripping over a million but maybe I'm tripping uh so anyways um when the continuation of the grammy's happened and you come to realize that the news about chatsu and feral and then I know there's going to be a crazy left turn and then the push your tea and jZ which we're about to dive into as far as them being on the Epstein list um we don't know what they was doing but they was in the documents so as far as that and the grammy's happening today
Starting point is 00:08:02 i wonder how in the world ferrell and push-a-tie is going to walk away with any type of grammy because this is the worst PR in the world and really push-a-tee's side is worse than what chad is a legend towards uh feral but it doesn't help the reason why i'm combining both is because it does not help the overall perception of the board saying to themselves Hold up now. See Kendrick was already heavily favored but we was gonna split the pie and give y'all at least one but nowadays We see in the news the percolation of allegations and safe to say my brother Y'all may have to just go winless But then you know what I'm saying? I was like damn look at the state of hip-hop like what's going on?
Starting point is 00:08:41 And ultimately that's the lightest thing they could Assume as far as if these push-a-tie things end up If there's more details they end up coming out about the M-Septstein list and put Pusha T. I'm a huge Drake fan. You already know that. So when it comes to the Pushing T and the Epstein documents, I believe we should wait and see and start to compare the timelines because a lot of things seems fishy. But that's why I'm about to dive into it pretty soon. I haven't done it yet or so I'll give you more specifics. But we're about to get into that soon. But anyways, rounding off these millionaires beefing over $300,000. The main thing I want to let you know is
Starting point is 00:09:17 Chad is to be respected in the hip-hop universe, but this type of lawsuit seems premature like Farrell said and I'm not siding with Farrell. I'm just thinking that if you are going to sue, especially when you're both Marionaires, if it's over 300,000 it seems like it's just petty beef. I know what y'all saying. Oh, it's 300,000 to a million. But guess what?
Starting point is 00:09:37 Chad Hugo is estimated to have 50 and 60 million and I think all of these estimates are low balls. Ferrell Williams is estimated to have around 229 million. Safe to say, these brothers would be all right. So that would be said, click my link
Starting point is 00:09:53 in my bio let me know one of my social media is what do you think about Chad Hugo uh co-founder of Neptunes a nerd suing Pharrell Williams for allegedly withholding royalties and profits and at the end of the day who's style to you on or if you're just like me and don't care one bit
