Now, I hope y'all know at this point in time, I do not take pleasure in playing these horror games.
But because of my friend Little Uchi convincing me to try out a horror game, I went down the plethora of horror games that have and captivated the masses.
And it just so happened as one of the games that I'm covering for this episode as Phasmophobia.
Not only is it not as scary as I thought it was going to be, but it's a very, very, very game.
intricate game especially when you get into the details and when you really
understand that it's the little things that matters that matter as far as getting
getting the ghost right now of course the game not particularly talking about is
called phasmophobia and when this game officially launched September 8
18th 2020 as far as PC early access and then and initially came
out well after that it came out October 2024 for consoles so when it comes to
phasemophobia why was this the game that I chose because I could have chose any
game I was gonna choose paranormal tails I'm so glad that it's not even out yet
because that game looked beyond horrific I mean it's actual real life like
quality graphics as far as going throughout the game now this one I'm not gonna
lie it's a little bit janky it's a you know it's a little janky
But at the end of the day, it's very fun, especially when you actually know what you're doing and you end up effectively and officially hunting down the ghosts.
Because when it comes to phasmophobia, that's basically the whole premise of the game.
Up to four players can investigate haunted locations using tools like the EMF readers, thermometers, spirit boxes, not boxes.
Got boxes popping up with spirits.
anyways to identify 20 plus ghost types so the 20 plus ghost types is the thing that makes this game so fun
because you never know what ghosts you're going to run into in every single session right and they don't even
they don't even last that long because if you're good at the game usually every single session
takes about 10 to 15 minutes and of course it may take 20 to 30 minutes if you are in the larger maps but
But as far as the difficulty, it's very apparent that you have to get really good at the game
and know beyond the evidence tab on your booklet.
You have to know what to look for as far as the attention of detail because certain ghosts
can turn off the lights.
Certain ghosts can't turn off the lights.
Certain ghosts have different footsteps when they're hunting.
Certain ghosts aren't active at all until you like put salt on the ground or things in nature.
If you don't step in salt, then it's probably a race, like stuff like that, you really have to pay attention to extra stuff outside of what the game tells you, which is why this game really is probably one of the more intriguing games that I've played as far as from a gameplay standpoint.
Because you're really going around finding the ghost room and then you're going to go into different tactics of getting ghost information as far as capturing pictures of maybe the ghost leaves a handpray on the wall.
So you use a UV and then you get a camera and then somebody takes a picture or you could do both.
I've seen people play this game solo and they are phenomenal.
You would never, ever catch me playing a horror game solo unless I lose a bet.
So with that being said, I think the multiple times that I've played this with, of course, my friend Lil Uchi,
and getting into how intricate the game is, it's very apparent that you have to build up XP
so you can unlock new maps, tools, and difficulties, which is why it's so in captivating,
because now you have level two, level three, thermometers, which makes it 10 times easier
to find the ghost.
So not only are you getting better, but you're also getting more efficient and improved
tools to find the ghost.
So with that being said, of course, getting into the overall sales performance when it initially
launched September 18th, 2020 for PC early afternoon.
access basically the milestones when it comes to copy sold was over two million as in a
hundred four days post launch so this is in 2020 right and then 22 million total sales as of right
now across all platforms and then of course when it comes to the steam concurrent player count
it it exceeded a hundred thousand concurrent players at its peak so obviously you know a lot of
of people are really enjoying this game i gn gave this an eight out of 10 a pc gamer gave it an 85 out of
a hundred and game spot gave this a seven out of 10 but as far as on steam is overwhelmingly positive
with over 500 000 reviews and it sits at 94 percent so people are enjoying this game like i said
it's a bit janky which i really like because if a horror game was not janky like let's just say it was
the most optimized horror game ever i think i'd be scared out of my mind because
The glitches in this game, the equipment bugs, the AI glitches, the overall way that the ghosts interact with you and move around, the animation that does when it captures you.
It's not that scary, especially with the graphics not being so top tier as far as, like, realistic, if that makes sense.
So I enjoy that.
For other people, they probably want a more realistic horror game because, of course, they want to be spooked and things of that nature.
But for me, this is perfect.
Like this compared to paranormal activities, the game we were going to play,
until I found out it wasn't even out.
That specific game is like literally lifelike as far as the graphics.
It's just out of this world as far as making it look one-to-one from real life to video game.
It's actually insane.
So whenever we get around and playing that game, I don't know, man.
I may have to sprinkle some holy water on me or walk around with a Bible
because that game looks beyond scary.
But as far as this game, it's not as scary, especially when you know what you're
you're doing so when you first get into it's going to be a lot of just experimenting and just getting
a grasp for the game but once you realize that the thermometer the EMF and then other tools are
really more important for finding the ghost then you get into a rhythm and then you start figuring
out the ghosts very quickly um with that being said some of the other things that's coming with
the major 2025 update which is why i wanted to cover this basically there's a there's going to be a
chronicle update where there's going to be a new media tab that replaces the photos tab
with photos videos and sound recordings and then also the unique evidence system that they're
using is going to be first captures provide more XP slash money and duplicates earn less so now
the diversifying the way that you get revenue from these ghost hunts because if you don't know
there's bonus objectives that you could do
obviously just finding the ghost types
and then there's the picture so that's the main thing
that you need to fill up on every single session
when you're chasing down these ghosts so it's not as straightforward
as you may think there's definitely a lot of research
you may have to do behind the scenes because when we first hopped into the game
it didn't really have a tutorial it was like all right
have fun hunting the ghost and then that was it right
I had to look up everything and then when you really watch pro players
play this game you realize a lot more and you learn a lot
lot more to the point when now I'm very proficient in this game well I think I'm very proficient I'm
still not pro level but you know I really do enjoy this game and also with that being said
analytic dreams video on Spotify to see my phasmophobia gameplay because I do have a lot of gameplay
up there as far as uh this particular game is considered because you know I do play games you know I'm
saying of course I play games because I cover game so let me see uh I'm gonna pull this up you all so
And then if you type in analytic dreams with the Z, can't forget the Z.
And then, oh yeah, here we go.
Okay, let me see if I could.
All right.
Let me screenshot this right quick.
All righty.
Here we go.
So as far as going to analytic dreams video on Spotify, here is what it will look like.
So basically, I always have like the stream title up at the top.
And then the right, you see Phasmophobia live.
So this is my live gameplay of the game.
Of course, it's not like record it and then I put it out.
I do this live.
If you don't know, make sure to follow me on my live platforms.
I go live on Twitch.
Both of my YouTube channels, kick and Twitter.
So click my link tree in my bio and then just follow one of those social medias to follow me live.
And make sure to follow and hit the bell icon to be notified when I go live.
But anyways, this is what looks like after the fact because I post the VODs on analytic dreams video.
So if you wonder, what's the difference?
that's the biggest difference so this is what we'll look like so if you get thrown off by the first
title just know that's for the stream and then the second the little slash right here i don't even know
i drew all over that the little well yeah y'all see what i'm saying that little slash right there and then
phasmophobia live that usually tells you the game that was playing while i was live so anyways
with that means said um the developer for this particular game is connect games and their uk-based uh india indie studio led by
Daniel Digniter night.
Interesting.
And then the platforms,
pull this up right quick.
All right.
And so the platforms that Phasmophobia is on is PC,
PS5, Xbox Series X and S,
PSVR2,
but no switch version confirmed.
So we do not know if it's going to come to switch yet.
I think this game is perfect for the switch.
Like I don't think it's as graphically intense
to where it can't or they can't make a switch port, right?
very interesting that it's on PSVR 2 i haven't seen any game player even heard of the PSVR 2 version so
that's interesting but with that being said there's going to be map reworks coming in the future
as uh bleasdale farmhouse is seeing our overhaul with new ghost rooms and outdoor garden
uh grafting farmhouse has planned visual and layout improvements and then of course future
additions seeming to come soon because it's 2025.
I don't know.
They said it's so it's either 2025 or 226 because 2026 they say there's more house
reworks coming with new maps and horror 2.0 system.
I don't know what that means.
But as far as 2025, you can expect a new character customization overhaul as far as the
UI is considered.
And then of course it's going to be a new small map, which
you don't know. I really like the small maps in this game. The huge maps, I mean,
who's really trying to walk around with one of those sound amplifiers waiting to get spooked, right?
So I like the small maps, so I don't have to walk around with that little boom mic
and get scared out of my mind when it just said, when it whispers or something.
So when it comes to nightmare difficulty, they say it's too punishing,
but that's what some of the phasmophobia gamers out there say. So,
So when it comes to the nightmare difficulty, I guess they're fixing that with the AI balance.
And then, of course, the voice chat security, there was minor concerns about data breach,
data privacy, but there's been no reported breaches.
So that seems very minuscule.
So anyways, the main thing you need to know is that this is a very phenomenal game to play with your friends,
especially if you like turn into Sherlock Holmes.
That's what I call this game.
I feel like it's Sherlock Holmes, but instead of solving the crimes back in the 18 or 1700,
I forget when Sherlock Holmes was around.
But you're basically solving crimes for which ghosts you might be encountering.
Because if you don't know, there's like a whole van you start in.
So it's not like just some random people just walk into a house.
You're literally like ghostbusters and you have all type of equipment in a van.
And you were basically called to go investigate their house and find the ghost.
So it's a very interesting premise.
I think they executed on this phenomenally.
And the main thing I would say is just the graphics and the overall mechanics could be a lot smoother.
But of course, the developers of this game is Connect Games, which is UK-based indie studios.
So maybe they just need a lot more time when it comes to smoothing out the mechanics because it's very janky.
I will say it's very janky, but I think this is one of those games where the studio did not plan on it being this successful.
Obviously, you always want to think that the game you're developing is going to be successful,
but I don't think they ever, in a million years, would have thought that a release in 2020,
and then fast forward to 2025, that it will still be breaking these type of records as far as being one of the more pivotal horror games in the genre.
So with that being said, click my link to your bio.
Let me know in one of my social medias.
what do you think about phasmophobia have you played phasmophobia and if not would you ever try
out phasmophobia and if you do who are you taken with you into the ghost hunt
