Starting point is 00:00:00 Now what in the next generation is happening right here? Playboy Carding, Destroy Lonely, and Ken Carson, promoting new music via video on whatever account they actually put this out on. Because at this point, I can't keep up. See, that's the thing with mysterious artists, right? You put out music for the masses, and then you go away for such a lengthy period of time just to come back and not even use your official account. Like how are we supposed to keep up at that point?
Starting point is 00:00:35 That's kind of like when I actually can't compare it to anybody. Putting out information via other channels and not using your own official account is a very weird marketing strategy because of the time it took to build up your fan base on that particular account. But hey, maybe that's going to work for Playboy Cardi. as if you don't know, hip-hop sales are down across the board. So if I was to guess, Playbicardi would have to put out something for the masses to gravitate towards. Now, technically people could say he already put out
Starting point is 00:01:15 your other moon slash different day to see what the temperature was as far as support. And obviously, he didn't feel comfortable enough to put that on DSP. So now that we're here, I'm going to speculate and say that Playbacardi may have trouble making his first week sales and his long-term sales look comparable to his peers. I'm talking to 21 Savage.
Starting point is 00:01:39 I'm talking to Little Uzi. I guess you could probably say that Kodak and Youngboy would be around the same number that I would put Playboy Cardi as far as first week. Because I don't think Playboy Cardi is as commercialized as Little Uzi. I mean, he had a whole anime made for the rollout of his album, Pink Tate. If you don't remember, he had a whole anime video marketing trailer for his album. That costs a lot of money. So Playboy Cardi, I don't think it's working with that type of marketing budget.
Starting point is 00:02:21 As you see with him, Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, looked like there in some back alley smoking whatever, God knows what that is. and they basically just looked like they just was released like like they just got out the pin like they was in the 24 hour jail stream wakis and that that's how they're looking in this video i mean not close wise of course but anyways you get on saying um it looks rough as far as the aspect and the um the the spectrum of what they're going for i don't think play bricardy is going to have a smooth rollout for his album I Am Music. You have Kanye
Starting point is 00:03:01 about to drop. You have Nikki Minaz that just put out one of the best albums I've ever heard. You have Who else? Somebody else dropping. Oh, Jay-Z is supposedly supposed to drop and if he drops
Starting point is 00:03:21 Well, I don't know if Nas does a thing where he drops when Jay-Z drops. I think it's just vice versa. So, J-Z Kanye, Nikki already put out his album. You know Kendrick's coming with some baby keams coming with something jaco's definitely coming with something it's basically the heavy hitters are back and ready to unload as far as their music and the reason why 2023 i think was so lackluster is because they was taking a year off to gather up the ammo they had to shoot out for the
Starting point is 00:03:51 next project so at playbric cardi and the i am music do y'all not think it's weird that he merged his marketing campaign with Kanye and start to link up with Kanye and make music with him. It's the old mantra. If you can't beat him, join them. You're trying to go on your marketing campaign to put out your I Am music album at the same time that Kanye is about to put out his collab album with Todd Dollar Sign. Which album do you think is going to get more listen than more plays is going to overshadow the other album?
Starting point is 00:04:24 My point exactly. So with Playboy Cardi, either he's just got to do. deal with the fact that his numbers may not be what they once were or he's got to push his album back i don't think the latter's going to happen so i think he's just going to have to come to terms with the amount he sells and maybe he could pull a young thug like effect where young thug with certain projects would not sell like you would think a young thug artist should sell but he always and i mean always for some reason for the life of me i never like when drake put out more life I know those people upset that Young Thug was on the project.
Starting point is 00:05:02 That's the type of perception Young Thug had on him. But as far as his peers, he's always had a respect of his peers. So I think just playing devil's advocate, even if he doesn't have the type of success with I Am music, his peers will still respect him in a way that it may not matter. As you see with Gunna right now, he's on his own two feet putting up numbers, but that can only last for so long. because if you don't know, this is an industry game and there's a lot of moving chairs. And if you aren't buddy buddy with a certain rap group, you're probably going to fall off.
Starting point is 00:05:37 There's a reason why all these artists are on all of each other's albums. I mean, granted, major labels have a hand in that. But still, trying to stay relevant means you're going to try to stand next to relevant people. And for Playbric Cardi, his album, as far as sales, I don't think we'll reflect the amount of respect that he will always have from his peers. Hey, and that's okay. So that being said, click my link tree in my bio. Let me know one of my social media is,
Starting point is 00:06:04 what do you think about Playbook Cardi recently sharing this snippet with Ken Carson Destroy Lonely, basically teasing a collab with all three of them on the album I Am Music. And what are you most looking forward to when I Am music eventually releases?
