Starting point is 00:00:04 You know, sometimes in life, you make predictions and then you end up being egregiously wrong as far as the ultimate outcome being the opposite of what you predicted. Now, with that being said, Playboy Cardi has been doing phenomenal work on the charts by himself. Now, of course, one of the things I've been reiterating on this podcast is the fact that I believe when it comes to Playbricardi, he could not stand on his own on the charts as he was always charting with other artists such as Kanye, such as The Weekend, Travis Scott. And it's been a while since I've seen him chart in the top 50 for a while by himself, right? And to add on to that, his album, I Am Music, I did not think would have as much of an impact that it ended up having. Now, of course, a whole lot of red came out 2020. This album came out five years later. So the anticipation was built up.
Starting point is 00:01:13 But even then, the numbers are objectively proving me wrong. as Playbricardi debuted selling 298,000 units in the first week. So to put that in perspective, I said, I did not believe he would outsell some sexy songs for you by Drake and Party Next Door because I did not think he was near that stratosphere, right? So I predicted he would do around 180 to 210. he ended up doing almost 300,000 first week. So safe to say, I was completely wrong. Now, of course, the track that I'm currently covering as far as his later additions to the album, Backrooms is now on the music album.
Starting point is 00:02:05 And it's now titled Music, Sorry for the Wait, because if you don't know, me covering this album upon this release, literally to the point where as I was covering it, it released and you saw my live my live reaction to the album being put out it was apparent to me that this was one of the most pivotal launch uh rollouts i've ever seen the the most successful the most effective and it's simply because play big cardi has essentially mastered the art of manipulation now of course i say all the time these rappers are professional liars but when When it comes to Playboy Cardi, one could argue he is one of the best liars in a rap game
Starting point is 00:02:52 because people are to this day talking about how Baby Boy might come out if you make I Am Music number one once again. Because looking at the numbers, it's very insane. This man, okay, so actually he sold 302,000, not 298, because I'm looking at, I was looking at two different charts. He sold 3002,000 for. week that is insane very pivotal took me about surprise I don't care if it was five years I was not convinced that Playboy Cardi was going to come back with this type of impact and sometimes you make a prediction and you just ultimately end up being wrong but with that being said backrooms is now added onto the album music as far as all his other tracks I think currently on the charts so currently on the charts his most
Starting point is 00:03:46 popular track is evil Jordan right that is the number that's the second most played track in the world insanity right his second most popular track is rather lie featuring the weekend so when it comes to the weekend I'm not really going to point that out as much because evil Jordan is his most popular track and that's solely him good credit is his third most popular track off of the album which is the 17th most played track on the charts Crush is the 20th most played track on the charts. I'm going to get into my whole review of his sales, but this is essentially just to cover backrooms on the album
Starting point is 00:04:24 and letting you know that he did add more tracks to his album music, and now he's titling it, sorry for the wait. And then now I'm going to get into his other track that he had, which is, so we got into back rooms that he just added to the album. Now we're about to get into F-O-N-E. m dj which we can only imagine what that stands for it so let's get into that review right now
