Analytic Dreamz: Notorious Mass Effect - "POST MALONE - CHEMICAL"

Episode Date: April 14, 2023

Linktree: https://linktr.ee/AnalyticLess than a year after Post Malone dropped his Twelve Carat Toothache, he’s back with a new single dubbed “Chemical.” While Malone has been quiet on the mu...sic front, he’s been making moves in the movie biz. In August, Malone will be heard on the big screen when he provides the voice of Ray Fillet in the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem; it’s unclear as yet if he’ll also contribute to that film’s soundtrack. Malone — credited under his real name, Austin Post — is also set to appear in the Jack Black-starring Christmas comedy Dear Santa, directed by the Farrelly Brothers. Malone is currently on a European tour through May, after which he’ll return stateside to headline Napa, California’s BottleRock Festival.Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Starting point is 00:00:00 Pust Malone has a new track titled Chemical, and boy, is it a chemistry type of experiment? Because the different sound that he's going for kind of sounds like it's more of like a poppy-type vibe. And of course, Post-Malone at this point is kind of in his own genre because he started with White Iverson, and boy, he's not went back since. Like he's went straight, full pop, rock, whatever you want to call it. This man has made music, not in every genre. all the, well, most of the major ones. So anyways, I think that this is significant
Starting point is 00:00:36 because he dropped his album back in 20, I don't know if he dropped the album last year. Hold on, let me check. I got a fact check. You know, we can't be saying fake news over here. All right, give me a second, Post Malone. So his last album, he dropped in 2022, 12-carat toothache. And I don't think that was received as well.
Starting point is 00:00:59 so for him to be coming back this soon with the single I don't know if this is leading up to another album or if this is just a throwaway but my inkling the inclination I'm getting from this is that Post Malone will probably
Starting point is 00:01:16 most likely put out another body of work this year to try to combat the negative reception of 12 carrot toothache now I know some people may say oh but he sold well and no he did not if you compare post Malone's releases to his past releases, he definitely did not sell well.
Starting point is 00:01:35 I think I do remember covering that album. And basically, he was going through the weekend type of struggles where he was on his last year of the deal. I don't know if he extended before or after. I think it was after. So before when he was going through his rollout, his major label didn't really support as much as they usually do. Of course, some people will tell you all know,
Starting point is 00:01:59 they definitely support them. Don't you see them on interviews and stuff? But at the end of the day, I mean, at this point, Post Malone wants to give you an interview. I mean, even Jimmy Fallon is not turning that down. So I don't know how much the major label was involved with the sales or just a promotion for 12-kart toothache. But if he's coming back this fast, I think maybe he inked a new deal, meaning that the first week sales of this next project will be significantly greater than his life.
Starting point is 00:02:29 last album and hopefully that is the case because I don't think Post Malone is falling off by any stretch of the imagination but when you compare superstars you start to compare them to themselves in their past work and his album sales have looked greater in 2019 than it does than it did in 2020 2021 and of course 2023 so we'll see what this single chemical leads to but for the most part I think that Post Malone is on track to put out another album this year. But hey, that's all speculation. So anyways, click my link to your in my bio. Let me know on one of my social media is.
Starting point is 00:03:08 What do you think about Post Malone, Post Malone dropping a new single title chemical? And will you be giving it a listen?
