Getting into the official track listing of Post Malone's album, self-titled Austin, which is his first name, you have 17 tracks for the album.
17 seems like a lot, when you think about tracks like chemical, tracks like overdrive, and tracks like, I forget what else, I think that's it.
As far as the singles for the album are already on there, it's technically 15, which is still a good amount of tracks.
but still, I think a lot of people think
anything over 14 is a lot, which it is,
but for this particular artist,
I think fans will understand the amount of music
as for a self-title album,
I think Post-Malone will be getting into a lot of things
that's actually real in his life,
like personal, reflective topics
that fans can gravitate towards and take from
to learn more and know more about their favorite artists.
So anyways, he's also,
accompanying this album with a tour titled if y'all weren't here I'd be crying which
is a very interesting tour name to say the least but what I'm specifically focusing on
is a new snippet that just came out days before Austin comes out which is Friday I think
with all of these snippets it's a desperate attempt for more hype marketing wise I keep
saying Travis Scott Utopia is coming out on the exact same day that this album is coming out.
The marketing for Travis Scott and his team has been extraordinary.
Way above what I could possibly fathom as far as the multiple marketing tactics.
I mean from the Utopia briefcase from the trying to, well, trying keyword to perform in the
pyramids of Giza from the Rolling Loud performance from what else?
the Bad Bunny, the weekend single,
like,
I don't even know if DJ Callet could get
the weekend and Bad Bunny to do a track together,
which he probably could.
I'll take that back.
He probably could.
But anyways, you get what I'm saying.
He's assembling the most prestigious rollout
I think we've ever seen from a hip-hop artist.
And artistically,
Travis Goss, or no, musically,
his discography is up there where I think,
like, any hip-hop musician.
So, we're specifically talking about,
my post Malone, though. Basically, I say all that to say, when you have a rollout like Travis Scott
and his team is having, you can't really compete. So Post Malone's album is just kind of existing.
Do I think this will hurt his first week sales? I actually don't think so. I think people will go
see that Travis Scott put out an album. Well, they already know. So they'll go listen to his album.
And then with Post Malone being big enough, they will also see, because you already know,
Postmole I mean Spotify Apple music they're gonna pop it up in your face oh Post Malwa also has an album out and they're gonna be like well I might as well listen to that too after I listen to Utopia so I don't think his first week sales will hurt or be hurt by this but I also think that the marketing strategy and the rollout has been
beyond weak simply for the fact that Travis Scott's Utopia is just no pun intended just astronomical just astronomically out of this world
compared to any other rollout I've seen.
I mean, most musicians don't even give a rollout.
Hey, my album's coming out next day, next day they put it out.
And that's why they don't be selling.
And that's why everybody's like,
why hip-hop artists haven't had the number one since Uzi in Pink Tate?
Because y'all don't try in y'all rollouts.
And the last person who did try, which was Lil Uzi Verd, went number one.
I think it's, I don't think it's that simple.
But, you know, for artists of that caliber to still give that prestigious of a rollout
and professional-like rollout,
for his album pink tape, he deserved that number one.
I mean, he did lie to the fans basically promising them another album if it went number one.
But, you know, it was just marketing tactic.
But that's besides the point.
Post Malone's been putting out a plethora of snippets.
Enough is enough is one of the snippets.
He's put out a snippet for Laugh It Off.
He's put out a snippet for something else.
I forget.
Oh, he put out a snippet for something else, but it wasn't like titled.
So he said, here's my album.
Actually, let me see.
He said, here's my album, but he didn't really name the song that the snippet was from.
Let me see if I could find it was on his profile.
Because in general, Post Malone, as you can see, he's trying.
He's doing interviews with saying low.
He's posting about it.
But in general, it's just overshadowed.
It's just overshadowed by Travis Scott, which is.
you know
teachers on man
it's kind of
it's tough
it's tough to compete
with Travis Scott
level marketing
let me see
overdrive
it was a
it was like a
specific
oh here it is
okay
so he said
here's a snippet
of one of them
so he didn't even
say what it was called
he just said
here's a snippet
of one of the tracks
and you can see it
if you go to
my shameless plug
analytic dreams
video
Spotify video channel
you can see
every video element
that I do
when I'm recording
but anyways
so right here he says my new record Austin
has 17
well new album Austin
has 17 songs and drops basically Friday
here is a snippet of one of them
so he doesn't say what it is so anyways
he's giving us three snippets two of them
I don't know if it was from him like
it was from some fan account that said post Malone
news so I don't know if he's like leaking these
to them to put out but anyways he's trying he's trying
marketing he's trying all the marketing tactics in the world
I still think he would end up coming
You know
Previously I say he would come number two
But I keep forgetting
Taylor Swift
Album just came out
Not too long ago
And I think that's selling around 100
Let me see
Taylor Swift
Over
Past three weeks
So Taylor Swift is also
A part of the equation
Because the number two
And the number one is not just locked up
Let me see
trying to find it i don't know if i can pull this up in time okay so basically speak now which is
taylor's version album whatever so 575 000 first week a lot right yeah i know um the week after
sold 275 000 and the week after that sold 75 000 so her third week did 175 000
if you don't think that taylor swift sees travis the post balloon drop and the
and probably would end up telling her label,
hey, let's buy a little bit more album sales
to try to get at least number two.
I think she would try to go for number one
because Taylor definitely has the money to do it.
But I'm thinking the gap would be too much
to actually buy the amount of sales
that would take to get her to number one
because I project Travis Scott to do at least 400,000 first week,
400,000 first week with Utopia.
I think Postman alone would do a round or 300,000,
100,000 range, which is still not bad.
But for Taylor Swift, for it to be a fourth week,
I don't know if it will drop below 175,000.
It seemsing like it will.
It's been strong consistently as far as sales-wise.
But when it comes to one, two, and three,
I think it will end up being Travis Post and Taylor.
Taylor can maybe buy enough to get close to post.
And if her fans may,
Taylor can end up dropping another vinyl or a re-refer.
mix of something for her Taylor's version, right?
And that could help herself, which she's done in the past when she was competing with
Drake and 21 Savage and her loss.
So Drake, I mean, Taylor Swift is not above trying to, trying different marketing tactics
to spite somebody and get their number one.
Because like I said, hip, uh, music in general is competitive, but hip hop is definitely
a contact sport.
So with Taylor Swift seeing them coming up in the ranks,
She may try something like putting out a deluxe edition or something, but don't quote me on that, but it's just a possibility.
Anyways, click my link tree in my bio.
