In other news, Post Malone has leaked, or I don't even know if it's been him.
I know he gave out a bunch of snippets for the rollout to his album.
Honestly, I feel like his rollout could be a lot better.
I feel like, and for me personally, I cover music, which, you know, you know, I probably know.
But, I mean, duh, I just play my fault, my fault.
I think the rollout for Post Malone's Austin has been straight atrocious.
I don't know what it is, but it feels like it's.
its fan base have been creating more buzz for his album than Post Malone himself.
Looked at his profile and he's obviously trying.
I just don't think any other promotion marketing tactics are cutting through.
Seeing what Travis Scott's doing with Utopia, I kind of can't blame his marketing team too
much because how do you compete with Travis Scott level of marketing?
You kind of just don't.
You kind of just, if you're dropping the same day as Utopia, you kind of just exist as an album
I will get to after Utopia for most fans.
And yes, I am saying most.
I think Travis Scott Utopia will by far outsell Post Malone's Austin album.
I predicted Travis Scott to do around 3 to 400 first week.
And even that, for some Travis Scott fans, it's just like,
how can you say he's going to sell that low, you know?
But for Post Malone, because let me see, in general,
I don't think his sales has ever been on.
I mean, at one point, I felt like it was on the same tier of Travis Scott, but not recently.
Yeah, okay.
So the album he put out in 2022, which granted, I kind of covered that.
I kind of broke down the main scheme of things.
With Post Malone, he was on his last project onto his current contract.
And usually labels want you to extend before putting out your last project.
Because imagine they put all that publicity and hype you up as like you're just getting bigger and bigger.
Because think about it, Stoney, 2016, sold $335,000.
Beer Bongs and Bentley's $461,000 first week.
That was in 2018.
Hollywood's bleeding came out 2019, so $489,000 first week.
Then come to his last project off of the deal and 12-carried toothache sold $12,000 first week.
Little mischievous, don't you think?
I don't think the label really promoted this album.
Simply for the fact that it was the last project.
I think they wanted him to extend before putting out this album.
He ended up not extending it, just putting out this project.
I think he ended up signing with, let me see.
He ended up signing with, I got to look it up first.
You know, we can't, we don't do fake news over here.
You know, got to have actual facts to go with what I'm saying.
so
okay so 12 karat toothache
which was the last project under his deal
was under
Mercury Records Republic
a division of UMG recordings right
and his latest
has he put out a single for this album
because this will really tell me what I need to know
I don't know if he's put out a single
let me see
July oh okay
yeah I think he resigned with him
because it's saying the same label
so let me see
post Malone
signed a new deal
with UMG
he must have signed a new deal
because it's saying the same
sublabel and everything
Mercury Records Republic
Universal Music Group
Okay he did
Okay so after he put out the album in 2022
He signed a new deal
With the Universal Music Group
That's reportedly worth 100 million
And will keep Malone signed
Till 2032
Goodness, I guess 100 million is, I don't know, it's reportedly.
So obviously nobody knows the real details, but, you know, people talking the industry,
and that's how stuff gets out.
So it's, um, Post Malone is one of the most popular artists under UMG, of course.
And this deal is a sign that UMG would definitely start to pump up the promotion for his latest album.
That's why I don't think Post Malone is trying as hard for the marketing.
Maybe he's trying hard personally, but I can't tell at all.
granted Travis Scott's also marketing utopia so compared to that you probably don't even exist in most people's eyes
So yeah
2022 is when he re-signed this deal
I bet you he sells way more than 121,000 first week
So I think Travis Scott would do which I still think as a low projection from me
But seeing that his perception may not have changed
I'm still thinking he will sell between three to four hundred first week
which can be completely wrong
because I'm thinking
if the perception is of Travis Guy
we don't care about AstroWorld
I think he would sell
up to 700 to 800,000 first week
if people don't care about what happened
in the Asteroir fiasco
which is crazy to say but you know
that's the world we live in
I think he would sell 7 to 800
but going off of the perception
seeming that people still haven't gotten
over the Asteroor situation
I think he would sell
3 to 400. So with that being
said, I think Post Malone
with him selling 489,000
with Hollywood's bleeding and
121 after that,
I think that he will end up selling
300,000 first week.
Stoney back in 2016
sold $335,000.
I think that this album would do
around $300,000 first week. And of course,
bundling is back into the equation,
which is why my two predictions from
Travis Sky is a significant jump.
From 3 to 400 to 700 is a big jump, but still, I think the bundling, I still haven't been able to effectively, like, wrap my brain around how that actively is going to boost the sales.
So that's why I'm projecting those low numbers, relatively low numbers for Travis Scott compared to himself.
But in general, it's a huge success if you sell even over 100.
So, yeah, I think with this album, Post-Belon would do 300,000 first week.
Utopia will end up getting the number one with 400,000 first week.
And that is my prediction.
But of course, I could always be wrong.
