Analytic Dreamz: Notorious Mass Effect - "QUAVO - HONEY BUN"
Episode Date: March 31, 2023Today (March 31), Quavo is back with another track dedicated to his late nephew and Migos bandmate, TakeOff, titled “Honey Bun.” Previously teased earlier this week on Instagram, “Honey Bun” ...marks the third track released by Quavo since the November 2022 passing of TakeOff. First, he dropped his heartfelt tribute, “Without You,” in early January, commemorating his partner-in-rhyme. Later that month, Quavo teamed with The Maverick City choir to perform the melancholy record at the 2023 Grammy Awards. “I wish I had a time machine/ Just so you take a ride with me/ I miss just how you smile at me/ Unc & Phew until infinity,” sang Quavo onstage.source: Quavo Releases New Song ‘Honey Bun’ – BillboardPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

I don't want to hear no sorry for my loss.
Expetive do some.
I just put my roof on it.
I don't get an exfutive about no big homie.
Hmm.
No, haunt your expert of it.
I'm back on it.
Everybody know just how we act on it.
Okay, so those are pretty heavy lyrics from...
Quavius on a track titled Honeybun.
Now, I don't know why these artists picked the most salacious tracks or just titles
and include the most non-law-abiding lyrics along with it.
Like, a track will be titled Honeybun, and they'll be talking about how the switch on the clock will turn you a two.
It's really unfortunate.
So basically, I'm trying to beat around the bush.
Quavo's talking about Jay Prince, man.
I'm not trying to get killed.
But at the end of the day, bro, somebody got to cover this.
So Quavo's talking about Jay Prince when he's talking about he don't care about no big
homie.
Jay Prince was notoriously on a million dollars worth of game talking about how the whole takeoff
situation was basically quavo and him, you know, his bodyguards fault and all that
and how they started it so they finished it, you know, stuff like that.
And I mean, literally.
on air, Gileon Wallow asked him about the whole mob ties and it was like a movement of bosses and
it was like some crazy PR spin. I ain't never heard nothing like that in my life. Like I feel like
that was the first time they actually said their abbreviation in my tides out loud out loud for the
public to hear. So anyways, yeah, Cuevo's not really trying to hear all that. Sorry for my loss.
He's trying to get his get back. He's trying to slide for take off, I guess. And I just got to tell you,
the message is very um alarming but the quality at the end of the day for this track is even more
alarming as this is pretty bad like this track is is very far it's not even it's it's it's atrocious man
like this track is pretty bad like literally he tried to take like this album came out in 2022 you
can't already take a person's chorus that came out last year this man said honey bun can you do something for me
Can you go automatic just for me?
Tommy Gunn.
Can you do something for me?
Can you call Al Capone for me?
Now, if it's not a takeoff tribute track, I think Cuevo's solo career is in a dumpster.
Like, I think it's dumpster fire, dog water, the worst adjectives you can attach to a track,
I think is qualified for this.
as Quavo as a solo artist is very much a one-trick pony.
At first I thought the Migos was just a collection of artists that was very,
let's just say, had a variety of ways to impact the track.
But at this point, I really do feel like if it's not a chorus
and if Cuevo's not just crooning, which is like trying to sing with Autotune,
then I feel like this man is just one of the worst artists on the planet.
Anyways, um, takeoff, on the other hand.
Obviously, he's more, you know, rest of pieces takeoff.
I don't want to say nothing too negative about him.
But, um, basically his flow is really recognizable to the point.
People don't think he's switching it up as much because his flow is so, uh, in your face.
And it's, when you hear takeoff's flow, that's what people attribute to the mego's flow.
I don't know if y'all realize that.
I mean, obviously people would say,
maybe offset but he's i feel like offset is the most complete out of the out of the group now when
it comes to music making but if it's not quavo making a chorus and obviously i'm not saying quavo's a
terrible artist because yes i've heard the classics that he's been on with congratulations with
uh post malone and basically other tracks that he's been by himself and made fire like bad and
Bougy, but let me just say if it's not a chorus or if he's not, what's the word, leaching off
of somebody's energy for a track, then his songmaking ability as a solo artist is below average.
And that is sincerely unfortunate.
So click my link to you in my bio, let me know one of my social medias.
What do you think about Cueblo and his non-ability to make music outside of takeoff tributes?
and do you think that this lack of ability to make solo music will help him reunite with Offset?
