Starting point is 00:00:00 So as you see, Quavo put out a takeoff tribute album titled Rocket Power. And a very sentimental moment in a marking of the times and history for what is a very touching and close subject matter to Cuevo. because I do believe a lot of different rappers who was very quick to repost the Young Thug album. But when it comes to Cuevo putting out this album, which is a tribute to take off, seemingly, all the favorite or top rappers in the game have somehow not able or just not able to see.
Starting point is 00:00:57 or hit that's your button. Maybe I'm reaching too much into it, but as much love as everybody has for a young thug who's still living is just incarcerated. I would think that same love will be placed on a Cuevo album, tribute album, I might add, literally titled Rocket Power to Take Off. It's not like this is just some random album coming out for Cuevo.
Starting point is 00:01:22 This is an actual album dedicated to takeoff, which, you know, unfortunately passed away. way when he was 28 after being shot and killed at a private party in Houston, Texas. It's like one of those things where it's like, it was a real event, lost somebody who's a real influencer in the hip hop industry, a tribute album comes out about him. And seemingly, everybody just forgot the, just don't have the ability to share no more. Like, they don't know how to repost and they just, they just out here not knowing how to even forget reposting it even like a post it's very interesting to me but everybody and the mom was
Starting point is 00:02:06 reposting that young thug album so anyways um me uh quabo is released a new album titled rocket power first album since takeoff's death of course tribute album to take off and it actually has take off on the album of course because you know whenever you're a rapper the biggest things I do like about this art form is that your art lives on forever now if the Spotify or Apple crashes I guess it could go away but I mean as far as your art form and if somebody bought like a physical copy that lives on forever it's going to outlast you it's going to outlast you like 10 times full like it's just never going to go away unless the person stops wanting to listen to it but in general that's probably one of my favorite things about hip-hop is that you can actually
Starting point is 00:03:01 actually make something that's going to be bigger than you and last way longer than you. So that's the case here, whereas we have take off on the album, one, two, so we have take off on the album twice. And I haven't listened to the album yet, so I can't really give my opinion, but I really did want to cover this and just basically bring it to people's attention that this album did come out, because if you don't know, Quavo hasn't had the best of luck trying to put out his own solo albums as in general see if i can find this in general the last time this man tried to put out the album right it sold 99 000 first week sales with uh quavo huncho and that had the likes of
Starting point is 00:03:48 little baby drake Travis scott like literally everybody you can name on the album it looked like a DJ Calla album in itself Madonna Cardi B still only sold 99th 21 Savage still only sold 99000 first week which is pretty solid you know it's not bad especially for a solo act who's used to being in a group of three um but now he's by himself obviously it's a tribute takeoff album so you kind of want more solo tracks but still he has features on here from the likes of uh future uh baby drill young thug of course and and i do believe that this would be a very interesting uh cell wise for the album because not a lot of people pay attention to the fact that this is a tribute album to takeoff.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Now, of course, you could probably say, well, you could put together a whole album full of takeoff unreleased vocals, which is probably definitely true. I mean, Quayvon, obviously said multiple times of interviews that takeoff is always in the studio. So there's probably a bunch of unreleased verses they could put together for his own album.
Starting point is 00:04:51 But at the end of the day, this is what we have right now, and it's very interesting to see the amount of industry, or lack of industry support for this album. What else? That's another thing. But in 2018, Migos came out with Coacha 2, right? 2018, Quavo put out his solo album titled Quavo Huncho, right?
Starting point is 00:05:12 I feel like that dude from ATL. I'm scrolling down the track list. I see none other than Little Baby. Now I need y'all to go back, uh, let me take you back down the memory lane. Apparently, rumors have it, or has it. Little Baby and Officer of Beefing. because apparently it's some type of dice game it's always a dice game man some type of some type of gambling game i don't know and something happened to what he didn't want to pay up or whatever i don't know what
Starting point is 00:05:42 happened all i know is what actually happened and it was like video that was like they was really wanted to leak it some of it did leak about him like running away from it but um i don't think the full thing leak leak but basically little baby was in the studio whatever and his team was about to strip offset down or something like that like something they was just uh flagrantly like violating that man to the point where little baby had to come out like like man y'all leave him alone stuff like that but from that point on him and little baby was beefing because
Starting point is 00:06:10 I don't know man you have to look it up for yourself but that's basically what happened so uh that's why you don't see ever that's why you don't see any offset and little baby music ever so um it's just very interesting because that was back before Cuevo and offset broke up so not broke up but fell off and it was
Starting point is 00:06:28 like dang that's how you feel you're gonna have my biggest app on on your solo album but anyways he still did it uh no wonder offs it not let me chill let me chill see ah almost but anyway so yeah rocket power by quavo i expect that to uh i don't even want to give a sales prediction because i really do just want this album to be like a nice tribute to take off but i do think about it they probably have way they have more than enough unreleased vocals to make an entire solo album from take off i believe So, and I think they could probably get the whole industry on that album.
Starting point is 00:07:06 So I don't know. I don't know how I feel. But currently, this is what we have. And there's no confirmation we even hint towards them trying to make a solo takeoff album. So it will make all the sense in the world. Hmm. Yeah, so I don't know what they're going to do with that. But at the end of the day, this is a takeoff tribute album.
Starting point is 00:07:27 And basically nobody in the industry is sharing it or reposting it. When the Young Thug album came out, everybody, couldn't wait to hit that show button but you know hey i guess that's a uh different subject for a different day so anyways click my link tree in my bio let me know one of my social media is what do you think about quavius dropping this uh takeoff tribute album titled rocket power and will you be giving it a listen
