Starting point is 00:00:00 Quavius has just released a new track titled Trapper Rapper. Now I wonder, what is the subject matter for this particular track? Now, jokes aside, of course, I don't know the last time Quavo has released a track or an album. So when it comes to Quavo, him being active in 2025 is definitely nice to see, especially, you know, RIP to take off. I know he's probably still dealing with that probably to the end of his lifespan. But, you know, in general, when it comes to making music, he did release a track with Little Unkey, which is probably why I never heard of it. But anyways, 2024, I covered, well, the latest track I covered from Cuevo
Starting point is 00:00:48 was the track he made for the Bulldogs, I believe. It was, I don't know why it's not showing it. Oh, Georgia Ways with Teddy Swims and Luke Bryan, goodness, talk about a superstar duo. And currently, he doesn't have any tracks or albums on the charts. So making a superstar track like Georgia ways, you're thinking it's going to blow up. Of course, because you, I think he debuted at the Georgia versus Georgia Tech game. So that's very interesting because, of course, he was going for the Georgia Bulldogs. So I wonder how Georgia Tech felt about that.
Starting point is 00:01:21 But, you know, but that's set to the side. I do believe that track had a lot of promise as far as blowing up. I mean, having Teddy Swamps and Luke Bryan on the track. But, hey, I guess it wasn't enough. But with this particular track, trapper, rapper, it definitely seems like a throwaway. I ain't going to lie to you. It's not the greatest music in the world, but it's also not trash. I don't think Cuevo at this point, solo-wise, has found a way to make like a phenomenal track to stand out.
Starting point is 00:01:51 The last time he made a phenomenal track and album was back in 2003 when he put out his album, Rocket Power. You already know how I feel about that. I think that was one of the better albums of 2023, especially. coming off the passing of takeoff as it was very much a tribute and not only that he had tracks to go along with rocket power that was just phenomenal like the track hold me um the track greatness i like tracks where rappers reflect on their life because putting words together and making the masses feel something should be the main priority not just rapping where everybody else wraps as far as the same monotonous subject matter right so hold me i've really
Starting point is 00:02:34 like that track and I think that was one of my favorite tracks of that year I actually have a list I have like I keep like a capsule of my top 10 tracks of that year so if I actually go back to 23 let me see if I could find it it pop 2023 all here we go okay so top albums yeah I had Cuevo's Rocket Power as my third most popular album well my third favorite album of that year and then of course yeah hold me hold me was my favorite track of 23 so that's already tell you how much I I enjoy the track hold me. But since then, and I had an inclination that this was going to happen, I think he went back to his formulaic way of making music,
Starting point is 00:03:14 which is not a bad thing because, of course, that's what got him so far and got him up to this point. But I'm not saying I want to hear him like cry over, cry over takeoff in every single track. But more tracks like Hold Me basically reflecting in your life, I think could be implemented to make the overall project a lot more. subject, no, no, a lot more quality heavy, if that makes sense. As far as the subject matter, usually is the copy and paste subject matter for every hip-hop song.
Starting point is 00:03:48 That is why Holden me stood out so much for me when it came to Cuevo, because I think that's one of the greatest tracks, if not the greatest track, he's ever created. Because for me, personally, I like when artists put their life into the music. If I listen to 10 to 15 songs and I can't tell what your life is about, besides you talking about killing people, spending a block or how many people, well, yeah, how many people you can rob and take off this earth, then I haven't learned anything about you, right? I'm very consistent on artists who put their lifestyle into the music.
Starting point is 00:04:23 That's usually my favorite. So that's why Holden Me by Cuevo was my favorite track of 2023. But it seemingly, it seems. seems as if he's walked away from that subject matter to get more to his formulaic bag, which is not the worst thing in the world because it's Cuevo at the end of the day. I think once you're a legend in this game, you can do the formulate things because Migo's flow was a real thing. Now, of course, people always accuse them of taking and copying the style of bone thugs and harmony.
Starting point is 00:04:59 I believe that's how you said. but I don't know why I forgot how to say their name like I don't know them let me see bone I don't want to get the OGs yeah bone thugs in harmony I don't want to get the OGs wrong you know all the old hair is gonna be on my head top but what you know about that young blood that's all that's all I'm gonna say so anyways they was accused of you know mimicking a copy in their flow but we came to realize that the mego's flow is very unique especially the contributions from offset takeoff and quavo being so distinct as takeoff had the most
Starting point is 00:05:30 accent heavy flow in the Migos tenure. Offset was more of the braggadocious rapper. And of course, Quavo was known for the choruses. So they all had the unique roles. And now, with Quavo on his solo run, was seeing more and more of why the Migos work so well. It's because they all really attributed to a track in unique ways
Starting point is 00:05:53 to the point where the overall group was one of the greatest groups in rap history. But on the own, besides the Rocket Power album, back in 2023, what is a memorable album that they've put out by themselves? So that's why I'm saying going back to the formulaic trap or rapper, it's not really doing anything for me. I mean, it's a cool song. It's definitely not bad.
Starting point is 00:06:16 But at the end of day, I would like to see him challenge himself creatively, especially at this point in his career. But with that being said, click my link to your bio. Let me know on one of my social medias. What do you think about Cuevo's latest track, Trapper rapper? and do you like to track or no you like to track or no
