Now in the sport that we call hip hop, there's a certain obstacle that you have to overcome if you call yourself a lyricist.
Because at some point, somebody's going to come out of the woodworks and see if your lyrical ability can exceed theirs.
And of course, when it comes to the masses, we are inevitably the judges to see who comes out on top.
Now, that being said, Joey, and this is a PG podcast, so we're just going to call it.
call him joey joey and ravey is going back and forth if you're wondering where this started well
in the overall timeline ray vaughn was the first one to jump out right because january of this year
rayvon released the track titled crash out heritage over drake's heart part six instrumental
and then if you get into what proceeded well what came in the aftermath of the aftermath of
of that Joey was targeted in the crash out heritage so of course he came back and he
initially was going to not respond but when the Red Bull freestyle came out which I already
covered you know shameless plug Red Bull analytic dreams and it with the Z and it should pop up
but essentially when I covered that Red Bull freestyle I was wondering why in the world did
daylight catch so much smoke I mean to the point where he had double triple entendres for like
three to four bars straight just going at daylight.
But what we're seeing now is Ray Vaughn versus Joey, not Daylight versus Joey.
So if you don't know, Ray Vaughn and Daylight, they are both as far as location.
They are both from LA.
And Joey had a certain trackout titled The Rulers Back, I believe.
And that proceeded all of this as far as the Crashout heritage from Ray Vaughn.
as far as um i actually still don't know what daylight did like it currently i'm still perplexed on
what daylight did to deserve all of these bars from joey so anyways um ray von came out to be
the mascot for la as far as going back at joey because if you're just going to call out l a
then you can't be mad when a lot of rappers from l a jumps out of the woodworks to go at you
because it's the same thing when kendrick put out control a lot of rappers responded not too many
people cared because it wasn't Drake as you've seen in the past but when you do respond and
ultimately highlight how they cannot message you lyrically now we have an actual battle because we
have rayvon putting out this track which you know this pg podcast we're just going to call this
the promiscuous error right so he released this track and it's definitely going at joey and with
that being said we're also going to get into joey's track title
the finals but essentially I just want to give y'all the origin from
beginning to where you understand why they're going back and forth so this is not
just out of the blue just started all the way back in January 2025 and a lot of other
rappers besides Joey were targeted like Tori Lanes was targeted a lot of other
artists accused of sneak dissing TDE was targeted if you wonder and why is Kendrick
Lamar being brought up in the midst of this well one he's from LA but more specifically
Ray Vaughn is under Top Dog Entertainment, which he just put out his last album through as far as April 25th, 2025.
So if you think about it, this is a great time to get into a disc battle because as we've seen in the sport of hip hop, a lot of people pay more attention when there's beef alongside it.
So anyways, Ray Vaughn is under TDE.
Joe is going at all L.A. rappers, but really he wanted Kendrick to respond.
So now with Ray Vaughn responding, being under TDE, one could only have.
assumed that he may or may not been advised by a certain someone to clean up my work for me right so let's just uh
say that ray vaughan probably has more ties to kendrick and top dog than we once knew beforehand
because he's actually signed to td e so with that being said getting back into this freestyle
if you don't know this is a response to joey's red bull freestyle and then of course ray vaughan
responded and basically on the i don't even know if it was beyond the half of daylight i think it was just
beyond on behalf of t d e and la in general because the way that daylight responded was very interesting right
because daylight he essentially came out and he put up a picture which is since been deleted
he put out a picture of capital stees now i don't know why in the world
that daylight will come out and put out a tweet that he would later on have to like delete as far as
a photo of Joey's late friend capital stees but let's just say when it comes to east versus west
coast and now you put in a picture up of his dead homie and then ultimately somebody probably got
in your ear and let you know that wasn't the greatest thing so now you're deleting it because
if you don't know capital stees was a Brooklyn rapper and a co-founder of pro error alongside
Joey known for his boom bap style and he gained traction with his 2012 mixtape american corruption
featuring tracks like freeder robots but essentially he ended up i forget how you put this in a
in a nice well it's not a nice way to say this but let's just say he uh self-transition yeah let's put it like
that and basically it was uh very shocking to the hip-hop community and um he was always remembered as a
a visionary because of you know him and Joey starting the label was the co-founder of pro
error alongside Joey so he was a huge visionary alongside Joey so when daylight puts up a picture of
him you can see how that could be taken as as a lot of disrespect to the point where it may become
more than rap which we're trying to keep it in the musical landscape because at the end of the day
hip hop is about
lyrical spars to see
who has the better pen
who has the better ability
to put words together
so we don't like seeing
what daylight did as far as what he
posted as far as Joey's late friend
capital stees so getting back into
rayvon I did like the way he went about his
disc track because of course he pointed out a lot of
different things in this track one I have it up right now
analytic dreams video on Spotify to see the video along
with the audio but essentially what i have right here is this man said who was a nobody i was writing
for your baby mama insane right call yourself speaking for the coast without backup dropped a little
three track epi and that's up seeing what happened last time an actor beefed with a rapper now y'all
but then you know what i'm saying i was like damn look at the state of hip hop like what's going on
that Drake and just know you're gonna end up in his next album that's all i got to say so anyway let's
keep going seeing what happened last time an actor beef with a rapper how you on tv and your homie
using cap cut now i had to use genius for this because i had no idea what he was talking about
but apparently in january 2025 cj flyb released high you freestyle in response to daylight
in rayvonne the track originally receives some criticism for its poor mix quality due to it being
compile using a free version of the editing software cap cut now i ain't gonna lie to you that is beyond
lazy if you're a content creator which if you're making music trying to promote it congratulations
buddy you're a content creator if you're using free versions of editing softwares you don't want to make
it in this game you just don't take the craft seriously i'm just going to put it like that so anyways
uh that's a very pivotal bar i think so um the baby mama bar was the best one for me because i i i like how
He flipped a whole, oh, I'm a nobody, but I was writing for your baby mom,
which, you know, to each his own, that's definitely a shot.
And depending on how Joey responds to that, well, not depending,
we're going to get into his response in the second as far as the finals.
But ultimately, just wanted to showcase my favorite bar,
or I guess my favorite stanza from his, I'll highlight it right here.
Yeah, that's my favorite stanza from his verse, oh, no, from his disc track.
And then as far as Joey coming back with the finals,
I do believe, because I've listened to both.
a bunch of times I will say that Ray Vaughn had the better disc track ultimately
when you dis rappers from LA and then they tap into that sound that's already
popular because of GNX being the fifth most play album in the world and one
a not one of the most successful hip-hop album currently if people tap into that
sound because they're from LA not only are they from LA and they're also from
top dog entertainment it gives them a very unfair advantage but then you
you attached along with it ray von's ability to have actual personal experiences to speak on as far as
writing for joey's baby mom and then ultimately going off of kentrick's flow and and the energy
of a gnx type b or la type b honestly and i just think that gives him the upper hand so as far as if
i was scoring it i would say as a very close battle i would literally go to the point fives because when we
we get into joey's the finals you also see why i gave it a point five but i think ray von definitely
deserved a nine and i think joey deserves an eight point five but of course with that being said
click my link to your in my bio let me know on one of my social medias what do you think about
ray vaughan's track that we're just going to call the error because it's the pg podcast but also
let's get into joey's disc track responding to ray vans
