Released February 13, 2026, by THQ Nordic, this spiritual successor plunges players into a war-torn island as two orphaned siblings (brother and sister) rescue missing friends from mutated animal-human hybrids. Experience environmental puzzle-solving, stealth, platforming, tense pursuits, light combat, and boat-based traversal across 9 linear chapters (roughly 45–60 minutes each). Standout features include a shared directed camera for heightened tension in local/online co-op or single-player with AI assist, haunting hand-crafted environments, grotesque mutations, and cosmetics like pre-order masks. Completion times average 4.5 hours for main story, 5 hours main + sides, and 7.5–8 hours completionist. Launch saw 24,309 peak concurrent players on Steam, 384,000 units sold ($12.3M revenue), and strong wishlists. Critically acclaimed with Metacritic/OpenCritic scores of 79–84/100 and 81/100 (84% recommendation), praised for visuals, audio, co-op tension, and refined formula, though noted for short runtime and some repetitive elements. Community faced early PC review bombing over delayed Friend’s Pass (now resolved, Steam positivity 74–86%), plus launch bugs addressed in Patch 1.5. Thematically, it explores cycles of trauma and warfare with ambiguous, interpretive storytelling—darker and more grounded than predecessors. Analytic Dreamz assesses Reanimal as a commercially successful, critically solid title that reinforces Tarsier as a top atmospheric horror developer, despite technical hurdles at launch. Perfect for fans seeking intense, tightly designed horror.  Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Starting point is 00:00:00 Shepard, promise me you'll tell them to subscribe for ad free content. Now I know what you're thinking. You're probably saying to yourself, hold on now, this is not Little Nightmares 3. And while you are technically correct when it comes to the studio behind this specific game about to dive into Reanimal, it is not the first entry in the franchise. Safe to say, it is a successor of Little Nightmares 1 and 2. Now you're probably wondering why in the world would they just not title this Little Nightmares 3? Well, I'm glad you asked.
Starting point is 00:00:37 As far as the mammoth of revenue that the Little Nightmares franchise brought in as far as over 20 million units sold worldwide, as of mid-2020. And of course, it's up from 12 million when you look at reports from 2023. When you look at the revenue brought in from this specific studio, which is Tarzi, studios hopefully i'm saying their name right now when it comes to the first major project after the acquisition that is why this is not titled little nightmares three as if you don't know embracer group acquired tarzier studios uh studios i'm probably butchering that but hey bear with me so embracer group acquired tarzair studios in december 2019 for 10.5 million dollars And of course, this was to have an aggressive growth strategy through studio buyouts, right?
Starting point is 00:01:38 So sometimes when the studio is bought out, it just ends up not doing anything. Shepard. Oh, my fault. You know, I ain't trying to take shots at the Xbox fandom because it's safe to say, y'all already going through it. Shepard. Just look at the state of gaming. Like, what is going on? The state of gaming for Xbox gamers out there is very depressing.
Starting point is 00:01:59 let's just leave it like that. But anyways, this is the multi-platform game, so guess what? You can play this specific game on any platform, whether it's PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, or the Nintendo Switch 2. Now, getting back into the acquisition, safe to say, $10.5 million for Tarzier Studios
Starting point is 00:02:17 was not for any other reason than them being magnificent and immaculate at making these type of experiences that people call cinema. So when it comes to Tarzir's track record, of course we have Little Nightmares, 15 years of experience. Of course, when it comes to Little Nightmares, that's what they're known for. When it comes to the actual acquisition, Tarzir Studios came out themselves and called it an exciting partnership to develop potential. So no, it's not like most of the acquisitions as you've seen in the past where they make a good game and 90% of the employees get laid off.
Starting point is 00:02:56 This is actually one of the health. wealthiest acquisitions that we've seen in quite some time in the gaming industry. Now with that little history lesson out of the way, safe to say it's time to get into Reanimal, which is the first major installment from Tarzier Studios since the Embracer Group acquisition as Reanimal came out February 13th, 2026 or not too long ago. And guess what? It's still notoriously affected the masses as not only did they have a 24,000 all-time peak 8 18 days ago but also when it comes to the xbox platform specifically it is currently the 6 most play game on xbox so that is phenomenal especially for a co-op experience yes ladies and gentlemen
Starting point is 00:03:47 this game is co-op so if you don't know when it comes to the actual access for whoever you want to play this game with tarzio studios allows you to have a free co-op code for a friend so if you buy the game you get a free co-op access for a whoever you want to play the game with. Now, other things I want to get into was the premise, because a lot of people are probably looking at their screen and they're probably thinking that they need the holy water plus a Bible. And you may be right.
Starting point is 00:04:17 But then, you know what I'm saying? As this specific game gets into a lot of interesting cinematography. Let me just put it like that. As when players control two orphaned siblings, which is a boy and a girl, navigating a grotesque war-torn island populated by mutated animal human hybrids. You guys. See, that's the problem.
Starting point is 00:04:41 So yes, this is definitely adjacent to the horror genre. Actually, it's exactly the horror genre. As you look at the objective is basically to rescue missing friends while surviving, escalating monster encounters. So when it comes to the gameplay loop, that's essentially, well, when it comes to the premise, the foundation, That's essentially what this story is about. Now, of course, the gameplay loop involves a lot of environmental puzzle-solving, stealth, platforming, a lot of pursuit sequences, which is the claim to fame, especially with the Little Nightmares franchise.
Starting point is 00:05:15 And then when you look at boss encounters, they have a plethora of boss encounters. And don't forget, for those who are very aware of their time spent on video games, just so you know, this specific game is nine chapters. So it's 45 to 60 minutes per chapter. That's the estimated time. It just depends on your gamer ability as far as who you're playing with and yourself as a gamer. Now, of course, it's linear progression. And when you look at it as far as the actual runtime, the main story only should take you about four to five hours.
Starting point is 00:05:49 But of course, main to completion is type. Well, no, actually, let's do a main plus side quest. would take you about five to six hours and of course completion is out there would spend about seven to eight hours as far as playing this specific game. So getting into the rest of the gameplay loop
Starting point is 00:06:07 safe to say you're going to be, let's just say, experiencing a horror world that you've never seen before, especially if you've never played little nightmares. But if you have, guess what? All of the reviews for this specific game is through the roof.
Starting point is 00:06:25 I'm not going to go out on a limb said that this may be a contender for game of the year but as far as major conglomerance and people who are personally playing the game all of them have a lot of praise to give this specific game and of course when it comes to the local co-op online co-op or the single player with AI companion and since safe to say that they went out the way to make sure every gamer is able to play this specific game because you know sometimes they don't have everybody to play with so the AI companion definitely helps out for those solo gamers out there. Now, going away from the story right quick, let's get to the additional, well, still sticking to the story, but the additional content that's not in the
Starting point is 00:07:05 base game. So when it comes to the deluxe edition, it's $20 extra dollars, but keep in mind, this game is $40, so shout out to them, you know what I'm saying? If only Nintendo would have studied the same model. All right, my fault. Random Nintendo shirts. But when it comes to the deluxe edition is the extra $20 and what comes with it is the season past three DLC chapters and of course new siblings and monsters so the main thing that a lot of people are wondering about is of course the dreamlike analytics as you already know we dive into the gaming and music IPs that notoriously affected masses and tarzier studios is definitely very acclimated with success in the gaming field as essentially when it launched February 14, 2026.
Starting point is 00:07:55 It had a peak concurrent player count on Steam of 24,000. Of course, like I just said, it's the sixth most play game on Xbox currently. It is not in the top 10 on PlayStation. As far as Nintendo, I do not think it was on Nintendo. Actually, let me see right quick. Reanimal. Yeah, it's not on the Nintendo top 30 list. But as far as Xbox and Steam, it seems like that's the favored platform to play this specific game on.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Or that's just what most gamers are playing it on right now. now so of course when you look at the patch that came which was the first major post-launch patch that came out i think three days after the release or maybe it was 10 days after let me see 14 so yeah 13 days after the release february 27th it was the first major post-launch patch and essentially always say when it comes to pc gaming you know you're messing with so many different variables as far as your specific gaming rig that consoles aren't dealing with as far as consoles being a set piece of hardware and no matter what people say about PC being simplified it's really not if you have a PC you're definitely a hardcore or avid
Starting point is 00:09:03 gamer as you're always going to have something that happens whatever type of rig you have a high and PC low well definitely a low in PC middle of the row PC um so many different variables when it comes to your gaming setup when it comes to PC there's like there's going to be some type of technical difficulty that you that you run into with any specific game so it doesn't mean it's unoptimized just means that PC is kind of hard to make a stable optimized game for it not giving them excuses because we don't want a monzaa but these type of tweaks and fixes is not out of the out of the normal you know routine so anyways when it comes to tarzan studios they fix crashes on 13th uh slash 14th gen cp u's which uh was having an overheating issue and they made a workaround for
Starting point is 00:09:52 amd hardware slash driver crashes and then of course when it comes to networking uh network improvements they rework the packet handling so there's a lot of nerd talk right now they lowered the ping and reduced desync so for all the pc nerves out there that was for you so now getting back into the overall progression of the specific game. Safe to say, I don't want to give away the entire story, of course, because, you know, I'm definitely not going to spoil over here. But what you do need know is, of course, it's nine chapters, is a lot of darker elements that wasn't present in little nightmares from just a consensus from people who play the game, right? The exaggerated scale is turned down a little bit. And of course, when it comes to the essence of human emotions,
Starting point is 00:10:42 Let's just say one of the people that you play as, they have a very interesting reason for being in a place that you're at. Now, I say I wasn't going to spoil it. So I can't really expound upon that. Let's just say you're going to be pretty surprised on what the characters you controlled went through. You guys. See, that's the problem. So with that being said, the main thing I wanted to let you know is, of course, this game is doing phenomenal from a critic standpoints from a personal player's standpoint. point and once you look at the 12.3 million dollars as far as steam revenue alone along with it being the six most play game or Xbox safe to say they're having a phenomenal outing as of right now now of course switching from sales talk into the review roundup safe to say IGN definitely had high praise for this specific game giving it a nine out of ten saying quote reanimal is a horror story a journey through hell made up of the simple
Starting point is 00:11:45 elegant gameplay that Tarzier has honed to a feather's edge over the last decade. Nintendo Life gave this a 9 out of 10 saying with Reanimal, Tarzir Studios delivers his darkest, boldest work yet, expanding on the Little Nightmare's formula with non-liter exploration. Striking audiovisual design and bombastic set pieces. This is an imaginative, horror experience that confidently delivers its vision while offering accessible co-op play that fans of the developer have long clamored for. And let's get to two more.
Starting point is 00:12:29 So game informer gave this a, you know, a little bit of a lower score, 8.3 out of 10, as they had to say, or what they say is, quote, but it is thought-provoking and stimulating. and if you can stomach combat let's just say self-deletion because you know the transcripts be out there
Starting point is 00:12:49 self-deletion animal harm and more all proxies for the effects of war on the people who waged it and is victims of that destruction Tarzer has created something worth wrestling with and last but definitely not least
Starting point is 00:13:06 um let me see yeah Eurogamer gave this a four out of five basically Santar Zia returns to whore with a rich, meaningful evolution of its familiar little nightmares formula. And while it could perhaps be a little more radical, Rianamo remains utterly compelling, bleak, nasty, and full of menace. Sheppler, just look at the state of gaming.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Like, what is going on? So with that being said, the main thing you need to know is that a lot of people are enjoying the game. Yes, this is the first major installment after the Embracer Group acquisition, which I think we have to apply because at the end of the day, how many healthy acquisitions have you seen in the gaming industry? My point exactly. So for Embracer Group to acquire Tarsier Studios and basically fund them to the point where, hey, you do your thing and we're just going to fund it and put it out to the masses.
Starting point is 00:14:07 I think that's a phenomenal relationship and the putting out healthy. representation of what you're supposed to do when you acquire a talented studio. So that be said, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know one of our social medias. What do you think about Rianimal by Tarzier Studios? Do you believe it's of the same quality of Little Nightmares, one and two? And if you do, and if you play the game, what is your favorite moment or part? Without spoiling, what is your favorite part of Rianimal?
