I'm not going to lie to you.
Drake needed to drop, man.
I know Olivia Rodrigo dropped,
so I don't know if he thought he wasn't going to get the first week
or the number one for the first week sales,
competing with Olivia.
But he's the goat.
I don't feel like anybody can compete with him.
Because now I'm left to talk about certain artists in no disrespect.
I didn't really try to talk about none of these artists if they're not Drake.
But we have to get into reason.
So reason.
Problem number one.
This man beefing with his manager from TD.
I don't know in what
situation and what
world do they tell you beefing
what your boss is okay, but let me tell you.
The person who has power and authority
over you, especially for long periods of time,
you probably don't want to beef with that person
because he could probably make your life a living.
You know what.
Anyways, Reason decided to beef with his manager,
TD, day free, which in a now deleted tweet
because Reason basically
came to some common sense or had some common sense given to him because this don't make any
type of sense. Like it's literally, I'm going to be using reason as an artist's name and as a
as this actual definition because there's no reason for this man to be tweeting about saying
he was disappointed that TD won't let him put out music or he, uh, TD won't let him drop music,
which is, I don't know any label that stops in an artist's home just
putting out snippets or freestyles or whatever but i don't i don't know by any of that like maybe on dsps
you have to wait to drop but freestyles like come on man he probably just don't want to give out music for
free and dsps his major label is probably blocking them but that's besides a point y'all want to know the
beef right by the way this man's album titled porches is out now in all dsps but we're gonna get into
this beef and what i think he's going to sell so this has been several weeks of just straight subliminal
disses from reason announcing that he left td e and he was now independent and guess what he's not he's not
uh independent and he's still on t d so these rappers just be professional line professional liars and just
lying for no reason and in the music industry when you have a boss um let's just say they don't want
to put out your music they have complete control depending on your contract of course over your
career and how they want to go about it, which is why a lot of artists try to come out publicly
to beef with their manager because they can't do it legally.
Prime example, Offset versus P from QC.
He even came out and retracted his lawsuit against QC talking about they won't let him drop
because guess what?
Legally, if you sign that paper, there's nothing you can say to your manager to make them rethink
it.
Be like, you know what?
Maybe I am making too much money off of you.
Let's give you some more.
Like, no, that's not going to happen.
You're going to be under this contract.
until the end of it because if you don't know,
every time a major label signs the artists,
it's basically like Russian roulette.
And that's probably the worst example.
But let's just say it's like the lottery, right?
You sign 10 artists,
one, maybe one out of those 10 will blow up.
And if that blows up, that pays for the other nine artists
as you sign that flop,
because you have to give them at advance.
And you kind of want your advance to come back
in some sort of fashion,
some sort of way, some sort of fashion,
like of them creating a buzz off of the generated sales marketing dollars they put into you so
with that being said uh the reason for this whole debacle i believe is that reason is not a high
selling artist this man is on the same label i mean the exact same label as i feel i forget
the why am i blanking on the artist was a scissor was a scissor summer walker all right let's just
give me one second we can figure out who's on
on TDE. TDE has all type of artists. Who is all on TDE? And the reason I'm focusing on this
because I feel like this needs to be pointed out for artists who believe that they can just talk
crazy to their management and nothing's going to happen. Like this is this is like career you know what
this is career self-deletion. Let's just say that. So TDE consists of Kendrick Lamarce now on
PG-Lang but he was on TDE schoolboy Q of course.
Isaiah Rashad.
Reason says he's independent now, which I think is a lie.
But we're going to see maybe he's independent after this album.
But basically, they have a lot of artists and singers,
Sampa the Great, of course.
Who else?
I'm trying to see who's the most.
Oh, J Rock, Ab Sol.
So obviously, it's not really a, that's not a stacked lineup.
I believe they had a singer for TD.
Is it Cizzer?
Is he the Cic?
Siza or Summer Walker.
Like, what in the actual?
That she's not.
It's Siza the artist.
If you have Kendrick Lamar and Siza on your label,
which, yeah, Sizzas on TDE,
she was the first female artist signed to the label in 2013.
So basically she released Control in 2017.
Then she was not,
and then they saw the commercial success from that.
And her and Kendrick basically became the head of that label.
Like I said, once one blows up,
pays for the rest of them.
So the rest of them
was just begging for scraps
at that point.
And with reason coming out in 2020,
so like three years after
scissors dropped
because that was 2017, right?
Let's see.
Cesar dropped in, yeah, 2017.
So coming three years after,
only to sell 30,000 first week
compared to Cizzer
to compare to Kendrick Lamar,
you're going to have to stay in that kitchen
and cook up until we tell you you can drop
because there ain't no way
we're going to let you keep
wasting our marketing dollars from artists like Kendrick and Siza is bringing in
significantly more revenue than you for the label.
So of course, hey, reason comes out on every podcast known demand and talks about how
how TD's not letting him put out on music.
And when he putting up sales like that, the last thing he should be doing is beefing with
his manager from TD, um, who is Dave Free.
So it makes sense why he deleted the tweet of him saying that, you know,
TD wasn't doing the job and it was being abusive and said he wasn't no longer signs.
So it makes sense why this man is being emotional because he's not selling Siza and Kendrick was back in that time.
And it made sense why they put him on the back burner.
But of course, he's out now with his album titled Portia's.
And we'll see what those first week sales look like when next week rolls around.
So anyways, click my link to your bio.
on one of my social media is do you think i was on point with my coverage of reason and td or
what do you think is the biggest reason for a reason not dropping as frequently
