I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop, like what's going on? The same sentiments over and over over a pop-con type beat, a dance hall type beat is letting you know that she's only showing up when the bags involved, which I can't blame her because guess what? At this point in her career, she's giving us more than a. enough classic material to live off of but of course the navy don't want to hear that they are still waiting for r nine it's been eight or nine years how long it's been it's been eight years since anti and rana i've been talking about oh i cracked the code i think i'm gonna come out with

Starting point is 00:00:51 an album that's not easily digestible or radio friendly and guess what all we've received is radio friendly singles as far as from the smurse as far as lift me up from black panther and with that being said we haven't really seen anything else i mean we had the track with party next door back in march 26 2020 we had the track with the goat aka aubri graham as far as march 18th with nerd rihanna and drake wow the more i think about it that's crazy having ferrell drake and rihanna on the same track knowing what we know now those people hate each other anyways so to see that happened back in 2018 man that was a different day and age so anyways um Getting back into my coverage of Rihanna.

Starting point is 00:01:35 When it comes to her being one of the greatest musicians to ever walk, planet earth, those are still my sentiments. But on the other hand, I got to let y'all know. Rihanna is not giving y'all an album or an actual single, a Rihanna-like single, not this cookie-cutter Disney single that she put out with Black Panther and she put out with his smurfs, which I'm not mad at. Get your bag, it's Rihanna. Like, come on, now let's be respectful, right? But ultimately, I got to let you know the hard hitting news that she is not giving y'all Rihanna music anytime soon. So that being said, let's get into the marketing strategy for this track. Friend of mine, which is a track out by Rihanna from the Smurse movie soundtrack.

Starting point is 00:02:21 I don't even know when the Smurts movie is coming out. When is that coming out? Friend of mine, okay, that's already out. But as far as the Smurse movie, it is coming. out July 18th and Rihanna's playing Smurfetti and she's also a producer so anyways with that being said this friend of mine track is put out under Westbury Road entertainment and distributed by who I know that ain't who I think it is distributed by rock I know that nation oh ladies and gentlemen let's get back to this video I love pulling this video up because I ain't going to lie to you some people think you just be talking until you bring up the actual facts let's talk about how Rihanna is under one of the more particular deals that we've seen in quite some time and let's talk about how Jay Z kept 16 year old Rihanna in a room till 3 a.m. until she signed to him

Starting point is 00:03:24 massive because of when I first heard the song and then, you know, he kept going, Jay Brown, he kept being persistent. I was like, you know what, bring her by. Bring her by. When she walked into our office, I was like, you know, she just had,

I mean, she has an own thing going on with Fenty Beauty, which she majority, if not totally, owns.
