This segment delivers a full breakdown of the 27-year-old rapper's (real name: Rodarius Green) Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, bust in Atlanta, Georgia—hours after securing his first-ever Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media ("Sinners" from the 2025 horror film Sinners). According to Fulton County records and NYT reporting, charges include two counts of possession of a controlled substance (Schedule II and V), possession of a firearm or knife during a felony, and reckless driving. Released Saturday on $8,000 bond, this marks his third 2025 arrest in the county: May's dozen-plus counts (aggravated assault, battery) and June's follow-up, which his team dismissed as baseless. Lawyers Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg, and Zack Findling blast it as "unjust profiling" by APD's quota-driven Crime Suppression Unit, vowing to challenge constitutional violations in court. APD details remain scarce. Amid his "pain music" rise—2023's Nostalgia (#1 album), 2024's Last Lap (#2 peak)—fans flood socials with #FreeRodWave support. WSB Radio confirms late-night booking. Starting point is 00:00:05 Back here at home, Grammy nominated rapper Rod Wave. He was arrested in Atlanta on Friday on drug and weapons charges. Police say the rapper whose real name is Radarius Green. He was taken into custody just hours after being nominated for his very first Grammy Award. This isn't Green's first run in with the law. He was also arrested last May in Atlanta on 13 charges included aggravated assault. We've reached out to Atlanta police to get more information about this latest arrest. Ladies and gentlemen, when it comes to Radarius Wave, safe to say that they are always watching.
Starting point is 00:00:44 And of course, when it comes to hip hop, they are specifically always watching. So, Radarius Wave being nominated for the Grammy. So you're probably thinking to yourself, hold on now. I didn't see any Rod Wave songs on the R&B or rap nominee list. What's safe to say is from sinners. And of course, if you don't know, the specific track was literally self-titled sinners by the one and only Rod Wave, which should show you how monumental. Not only Ryan Cougler, who is the director of the movie, is when it comes to a movie, but also from the soundtrack, he really knows how to pick him as having Rod Wave be the person who's basically singing the name, the self-titled track. after the movie and then of course to connect that with the black panther movie where he had
Starting point is 00:01:38 kendrick and scissor safe to say uh ryan cougla definitely has his post and his finger on the post when it comes to the culture but you know who also has their finger on the post won't they do you know who also has their finger on the post won't they do the police authority so safe to say when rodway was arrested this happened november 7th not on end 7th day hold up now and of course the location was Atlanta Georgia and he was arrested for two counts a possession of a controlled substance substance possession of a schedule two substance possession of a schedule five substance I don't know all these schedules mean I don't know if this is class or whatnot but I don't know if this is high
Starting point is 00:02:24 school or college what in the world what's up all these schedules possession of a firearm all there we go speaking my language or knife during commission slash attempted commission of a felony reckless driving. So it's safe to say. They picked him up on some very interesting charges. And then of course, he does already have a pattern like they said earlier. He has more than a dozen charges as far as back on May of this year with aggravated assault plus battery. And when it comes to Rod Wave, when it comes to a lot of particular artists, I'm not going to say in hip hop.
Starting point is 00:03:00 I don't want to just generalize it, but Playboy Cardi, NBA young boy and Rod Wave. That's all I'm saying. It's a very interesting type of coverage that we've seen from them, even though they have these certain charges, right? Allegedly.
Starting point is 00:03:18 So now, when you look at the acceptance because of how talent they are musically, a lot of people overlook some of the skeletons in the closet that have been ousted by the police authorities. So the reason why I say that is because Rod Wave was released on $8,000 bond and of course, a $8,000 bond.
Starting point is 00:03:38 And of course, when it comes to that bond, it's not like the other charges just went away, right? If this is his third arrest in Fulton County as far as this year, safe to say that his lawyers coming out and saying, oh, these charges have no truth, quote, unquote. At some point, I would love to see a world where the hip-hop lawyers
Starting point is 00:03:58 tell the truth. But of course, that's never going to happen. As you're already seen, what happens when lawyers get involved as far as certain hip-hop cases, they're very easy to finagle a lot of things to make it in the artist's favor. And I'm not saying they did anything criminal. All I'm saying is where there's smoke does fire. So basically, with Rod Wave going through this tumultuous time, I might add, it's very much as still as a time to celebrate
Starting point is 00:04:29 as getting nominated for a Grammy as no easy feat for Rod Wave it may seem easy because he's such a phenomenal impact of the masses when it comes to the musical landscape but even though he was awarded he was nominated for best written for a song for visual media as far as sinners you still have to recognize that since post-bond release he's going to be fighting these charges
Starting point is 00:04:54 And of course, their Grammys are going to look at this. And maybe, just maybe, they may hold it against sinners as far as the actual best song written for visual media because of how he's perceived currently as far as being arrested. And you come to realize there's two tracks from sinners. So I always like to tie back into music because of course, of course I don't like to just focus on drama consistent out what the platform is made off of. You're basically talking about music. And with that being said, as far as the musical offerings of Rod Wave, I can see them going with the other track that's nominated in the same category as far as I lied to you. That's also from centers. But realistically speaking, best song written from visual media should go to Golden from K-pop Demon Hunters.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Best soundtrack ever. As far as engagement, I don't know about quality is subjective. But as far as engagement, best most successful soundtrack ever, which I literally covered. I literally covered September 23rd, 2025 titled K-pop Demon Hunters. Netflix is most successful soundtrack ever,
Starting point is 00:05:58 which is really the most successful soundtrack, just period. Not Netflix, every platform is just period. So, getting back in the round wave, there's really nothing too much to talk about. I just wanted to highlight
Starting point is 00:06:09 how he is currently not on the charts. He does have an offering, though. So he came out with a single. I'm not saying that he's on paste or flop or anything like that because he's selling out stadiums. He's having such a, he's having such a phenomenal year when it, when it came to his past tour. So he's probably already earning the, he's probably recouping off of that.
Starting point is 00:06:32 And then, of course, he is going back and forth with Grizzly. So another lawsuit. Goodness gracious. This man cannot seem to get out of the, to be a law-abiding citizen. You guys. See, that's the problem. So this one, I am on Rodway side, though, because apparently he's going at the corporation. that helped him with his tour because he cut his short his his his tour short because they
Starting point is 00:06:54 wasn't able to do their end but now that they are claiming that he wasn't doing his end and now and now they're trying to sue him so the only offering he's really given us his voicemail with a t grizzly but of course he just gave us leave in that came out October 13th and it is nowhere on the charts I think that's very peculiar for artists of what rod wave statue and of course when you look at rod way he's under sony slash alamo records that's the uh subsidiary so the key thing to take out of this is that i think rod wave is in an interesting point of his career whether he's going to let it make him or break him is to be seen but it does seem like the single aspect of rod wave currently
Starting point is 00:07:44 with his track leaving is leaving a lot of people underwhelmed because it's currently not performing like we used to rod wave songs performing but if he keeps touring and selling out his tours i think people will come back and he'll get his numbers up to where it used to be but the main thing i wanted to let you know is just a little update on rod wave as far as him being arrested multiple times up this year and of course what he's been up to so with that being said click my link sure in my bio let me know one of my social medias uh what do you think of rob wave's current situation as far as him keep as far as him steady running into the law and also do you believe that rod wave tour would be successful with no hiccups as far as his redemption experience
Starting point is 00:08:30 tour that starting December 7 in LA
