Starting point is 00:00:04 I mean, talk about breaking the scale. This man, Rob Wave, is out of this world. Who would have thought that this man would have came back with Avengers as far as 2024 because of the simple fact that he's been facing a lot of different issues? And I'm not going to get into it because that would be messy. But let's just say, this man has bounced back and seemingly the allegations have went away. That's why I'm going to leave it at. So anyways, Broadwave has a new album titled Last Lap.
Starting point is 00:00:39 And of course, when he dropped his single Fall Fast in Love, it reached number 68 on the charts. Or debuted number 68 on the charts. As far as the actual album is considered, you have an hour and seven minutes worth of content from Broadway. 23 tracks. A lot of notable features were not a lot. But Little Baby, Little Yadi, and Rilo Rodriguez. Now, I listen to the track with Little Baby and Lo Yadi, and I will continue to spew the Bible, the gospel, the downright truth that the mitigated gall of Lodi to sing on the track is blasphemous. To get on my Stephen A tip, pause.
Starting point is 00:01:25 What in the world are you doing, my brother? Lodi Yadi has to be sonically the worst artist ever in life. As far as his vocals and the heavy use of autotune, it does not save it, my brother. You are still utter garbage sonically. Now, of course, the lyrics are pretty straight, right? It's just a reason. There's just a reason why their best ghost writers sometimes don't have the greatest delivery because maybe you would just made to write for other people.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Which is nothing wrong with that. But hey, get a little Yadi off this Rod Wave album. I ain't going to lie to you. Cut little Yadi off of this track and it's phenomenal. I love their sample. I love the beat. Rod Wave, little baby, just have the best dynamic when it comes to Sonics. Right.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Rod Wave can sing Little Baby as far as his voice is very unique. I'm not going to say Little Wayne-esque, but it does have a very unique sound when it comes his voice pause right anyways let's get to rodwave rod wave rod wave has an album title last lab like i just said and this is released under alamo records big deal because for the simple fact that alamo records is under sony music entertainment jelly row just released his album glorilla just released her album this is a specific weekend where albums are definitely going to be competing for that number one spot now is it going to be a sabrina carpenter versus travis scott type of uh competition for the number one spot where Sabrina carpenter came up with 362,000 first week sales where it
Starting point is 00:03:14 actually was the first week sales but it was sales nonetheless whereas Travis scott's i think it was days before the rodeo i forget what the album was called but it was like some 10 10th year anniversary album for travis scott it debuted it had uh 361,000 so it was one thousand off as far as Sabrina carpenter which is why I quantified that battle is one of the best album battles as far as vying for that number one spot right so if you look up Sabrina carpenter analytic dreams it should pop up anyways let's get to Broadway because gloorilla was highly upset that rod wave dropped the album and the same sense that glorilla is going to drop an album and he announced this and when he announced it glorilla quickly came out expeditiously to let that man know that
Starting point is 00:04:01 Why in the world are you dropping on the same date that I'm dropping my album that you been new I was dropping? Like, you already knew I was dropping on this date. Why are you dropping on the same date that I'm about to drop on that I've been told people that I was about to drop on it, right? That probably made no sense to y'all, but it made all the sense to me. So anyways, Rod Wave could care less. His album is still out now on all DSPs on the same date that Glorilla just put her album out on all DSPs. So we'll see which album comes out on top. Interestingly enough, and this may surprise you, I think there's a slight chance
Starting point is 00:04:33 Glorilla could overtake little, I mean, Rod Waves' last lap album and first week projections. Because as far as the anticipation built up for her album, speaking of Glorilla's Glorious, she has specific tracks on the charts that I think would lend credence to her having a bigger first week sales. I don't want to make this conversation all about first week sales, but when Glorilla jumped out the window as far as her Twitter response to Rod Wave announcing his album, automatically the conflict is there.
Starting point is 00:05:09 You are automatically calling out a fellow colleague in this sport we call hip hop and dropping his project on your same date. So now, since he could care less what you think and he put out his album and you put out your album, we have to compare the numbers, right? Because you pointed it out, why you dropped it? dropping on my date, now we're going to pay attention because I think Glorilla could end up having better first week sales than Rod Waves' last lap. Now, of course, when I'm covering analytics, when I'm talking about dreamlike effects on the masses, I want to get into how high streaming
Starting point is 00:05:44 output does not mean that you have high quality. And just because you don't have any streams, doesn't mean you're putting out low quality and vice versa. I just want to say that if something's high quality, that should be enough for you to put it out to the masses. But don't think that just because somebody's streaming it or somebody's not streaming it, it means that it's either low or high quality, right? Because sometimes it gets lost in translation with me always covering the charts and things that nature. So anyways, last lap. It's interesting enough that Rod Wave would title his album Last Lap,
Starting point is 00:06:19 because how many laps do you think Rod Wave can actually do? Let's have an actual serious conversation, right? But all jokes aside, he also is going on tour and is stopping at major places like Phoenix, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, New York, Philly, Atlanta, Orlando. And of course, the totality of his performances is around 36. So with him having so much impact on the charts, especially from the span of 2021 to 23, I would say that was his prime as far as analytically. I will say that it's been a drop off compared to himself as far as soul fly and things of that nature. But I'm not saying that he can't recapivate that same number one or top five type of single.
Starting point is 00:07:12 I'm just saying I haven't seen it yet. And I know he's been attempting to put out singles that would and captivate the masses as far as singles is being considered. Because he put out multiple singles for this album, if I'm not mistaken. I think he has, yeah, a passport junkie, which was on the top 100. I do remember reporting on that. But then also, so that came out September 14th, 2024. And then he put out Fall, Fats, and Loves, September 27, 2024. And now the album's out.
Starting point is 00:07:40 So those, that specific rollout. I would say is lackluster compared to himself, right? In the span of the music ecosystem, he's obviously impacted the masses. But compared to himself, I would say it's a little lackluster as far as the lead-up to this last lap album. How much do I think this will sell is another discussion? Because I do believe Broadway has a certain fan base that loves his project. So they will come out to listen to it no matter what. Nostalgia back in 2020, well, last year literally.
Starting point is 00:08:12 is platinum certified by R-I-A-A certifications, right? So that means people love your projects. People are willing to listen to the entire body of work instead of just picking out one or two songs. So we'll have to see when it comes to the sales aspect of it because when fall fast in love and when passport junkie came out, let's just say it definitely debuted lower
Starting point is 00:08:36 than I would assume for a Rod Wave release. So with that, being considered we'll see what ends up happening with this album obviously sad boy hours are upon us as jelly roll and rod wave have dropped their albums on the same exact date and once again i got to say talk about breaking the scale so with that been said click my link tree in my bio let me know in one of my social medias what do you think about rod wave putting out his album last lap and if you listen to the album last laugh what is your favorite track off of the album
