It ain't a destination, bro.
Like, it's the journey for real.
And that's why I named this album, Nostalgia, like.
Make sure to follow Analytic Dreams video podcast on Spotify to get the video elements along with the audio.
But anyways, this is Rye Wave explaining why he titled his latest album, nostalgia.
It ain't the destination, bro, like, it's the journey for real.
And that's why I named this album, nostalgia, like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, back then, I was thinking about the future or the past instead of living in the moment.
You know what I'm saying?
and I can't say today, like, looking back at that time, I thought it was like,
depressing and sad.
I thought it was that.
But, you know what I'm saying?
Looking back at it, not, like, this probably worse than that.
So in general, of course, with nostalgia, Rod Wave, is going to be back in this bag
of taking us to church when it comes to singing along, word for word, song for song, album for album.
I believe that this album is on more.
of the suspect type list than his previous albums because if you don't know his singles for his
past two albums were more impactful i might say call your friends come see me checkmate boys don't cry
fight the feeling have all been solid tracks but none of them has blew up like some of the
tracks off of his past albums and obviously i don't have it up right now but if i was to go to the
album so rod wave he has a plethora of singles right streetrunner was a single for his album so fly and that was
beyond fire and then he had what did he have and then he had alone for beautiful mind that one ran the
tracks i think alone was on like top 10 top five for like kind of how gunas f you mean track is doing
right now that's kind of how alone did for rod wave's last album and that was a single so i
All of these singles coming out before the album is kind of scaring me because I'm like, of course, I'm not mad at any new Rydwave music, but it seems to not be sticking or hitting as hard as his previous work.
And I'm not even talking about from a quality standpoint.
I'm talking strictly numbers.
I do not see any of these Rydwave singles being as impactful as his past singles for A Beautiful Mind and Soulfly.
I don't know why I always forget that album title.
So yeah, that was the biggest thing I wanted to point out because that's a red flag to me.
Obviously, as a Rodway fan, I'm not in the slightest concern that he's going to give us something mediocre.
I feel like this album, he always gives us something introspective.
And for me, artists who are living what they put into the music hits harder than artists who you can clearly tell are just doing it for the image and for the look.
So I like how Rod Wave, and even on this interview, I highly recommend you watch his interview with Rod Wave and million dollars worth a game.
But basically, this man gets into his life, talks about his music video process, basically being like a day in a life for Rod Wave.
And the way that he makes music is from real life events that he just takes the topics and put him into song format.
So at the end of day, I know a lot of people say Rod Wave sounds the same on every single song, which technically when you go to the format of the song, I'm not.
not mad at you for saying that because this man, I don't know what it is. I don't know if I need
start calling him Mr. Let the Beat Build because every time this man lets the beat build for like a
minute and 15 seconds and then he starts singing and even then he'll give us one verse. So this
is a ride wave song, right? Let the beat build for like a minute and 15. Sing the chorus. Get into your
verse. Get into the chorus. Get into the hook and again to the chorus again.
Where is verse two? And where is verse three?
Honestly, I don't know what type of pattern, what type of A&Rs this man has in the studio, but not every single song can only have one verse.
Like, that just, that just has to stop.
And that's how beautiful mind was, which is why to this day, I still, I hold, I regard, the wrong word.
I regard Soulfly as Rob Wave's best album.
I feel like he was given us multiple verses, lengthy songs, of course.
And for a beautiful mind, I felt like a lot of songs was cut short for no reason.
He was letting the beat build.
He would come on, sing the hook verse, hook.
No, no, no.
So he will come on, let the beat build for a minute and 15.
He will sing the chorus verse, chorus, hook, chorus.
I'm like, bro, at some point, and then to switch it up,
he'll give a little phone call at the end with him talking or some type of motivational speech at the end.
Like, I'm just like, obviously you can tell I'm a raw away fan because I enjoy listening to that.
And even I can tell you that it's formulaic.
So hopefully he switches it up with this album.
I highly doubt it.
He's literally selling out arenas.
He's on an arena tour, which is not anything that any of these hip-hop artists, they look at an arena tour and they can't sell it out in the slightest.
Drake, Beyonce, Little Baby.
and even little baby sometimes has trouble.
Rod Wave is up there with those names as far as selling out arenas.
Obviously, I'm not talking about show and how well he does in a show, but specifically,
selling tickets.
Rod Wave is one of the best in the music industry.
And as far as this album, hopefully that doesn't deter him for experimenting and trying new things
to give us a new flavor from our wave.
Pause if needed.

What is your favorite track?
And also, do you think that is getting to the point where Rod Waves' music is too formulaic?
