Starting point is 00:01:42 At this point in time, this man is the, this man is the unprecedented king of giving sad boy music. Because when it comes to Rodway giving us anthems via his heartbreak, using soul samples, whatever he has to do to deliver the classics, the classics that he's given us, safe to say he's delivered every single time. I know that ain't who I think it is. So whenever I look at Rod Wave saying he don't want to be a sad boy no more, guess what? I'm thinking to myself,

Starting point is 00:02:13 Woo-D-D-Doo! And we beat he, folk? Woo-de-do, we beat him. We go forward. Every time Rob Wave say he don't want to be sad no more. Woo-D-D-D-D. Every time Rod Wave complains that people just look at him as a sad artist. So anyways, with that being said, the main thing I was wanting to get into is, of course, Rod Wave is going on a redemptive.

Starting point is 00:02:32 experience tour that scheduled to happen December 7th of this year to January 2nd of 2026 opening show us in Los Angeles and then of course what I'm showing you right now is Rod Wave's Instagram post of him saying just turned my album in and that was two days ago as I'm recording this is October 19th so safe to say we could be getting that album in a foreseeable future as far as November or I would definitely say it's November because going on tour December 7th the album I would put money on it that it comes out before then so November or December actually November the album's going to come out November I ain't going to lie to you every single time Rob Wade be talking that sad stuff you already know he knows when they put it out because when the weather

Starting point is 00:03:19 gets cold Rodway pops out with another album so anyways tickets are available via ticket master this is not to add but you know of course i got to let you know we you know we inform people over here so it's his first major tour since 24's last lap which we have to get into how it was canceled due to quote-unquote management issues and rod wave went into even more detail on the lawsuit yes ladies and gentlemen there was a whole lawsuit for the cancellation of this tour so t grizzly not to my fault that wasn't even on I ain't trying to be funny. Rod Wave is, the lawsuit is claiming that Rod Wave owes 27 million, goodness gracious, and advances from the canceled last lap tour.

Starting point is 00:04:11 Now, I remember covering the last lap, and all I wanted to know, let me go full screen for this, all I wanted to know is how many laps can Rod Wave complete. You guys, see, that's the problem. My fault, we wanted to know his fitness status. But anyways, with that being said, the other thing I was wanting to get into is of course when it comes to the 27 million rod wave basically responded saying that um it was indentured servitude i don't know what that means but basically his lawyer came out and say quote grisly's baseless lawsuit oh okay so it's grizzly's production that's all saying now okay

Starting point is 00:04:48 grizzly's baseless lawsuit is an attempt to trap rod wave into an exclusive arrangement Grizzly has no one to blame but itself. Grizzly is the production of the tour, just in case you didn't know. So they basically said it was logistically impossible to finish the tour, and now they want $27 million from Rod Wave. Now, how in the world does that happen? You guys, see, that's the problem. Imagine you're on tour, your management team says,

Starting point is 00:05:15 hey, we can't do the tour because of logistical issues. You're like, okay, we'll cancel it then. They cancel it, and guess what? Now they want $27 million from you. for canceling the tour like hold up now but then you know what i was like damn so rod wave is going through some very interesting lawsuits i think he's going to come out on the better end of this lawsuit um hopefully grisly isn't trying to be the the reincarnation of abry karen i mean ibra drake graham because that would be a very unfortunate event because if you've seen anything as far as lawsuits going towards

Starting point is 00:05:45 hip-hop legends and rod wave is a hip-hop legend by the way you know we still claim him a hip-hop um it doesn't end up well so when it comes to t when it comes when it comes to i said it again when it comes to rodway um the countersuit was filed october 12 and they alleged that grizzly's production failed uh grisley's production had failures routing errors and scheduling chaos which led up to the logistically impossible um reason for finishing the tour only 12 out of the 35 shows happened as originally scheduled goodness gracious i ain't going to lie to you when i said you when i said how many laps can Rod Wave complete? This may be one of them.

Starting point is 00:06:26 You guys. See, that's the problem. Now, all jokes aside, before Rod Wave fans get mad to me. I do love the musical side of Rod Wave's creation, because I think putting your pain into the music is the quickest way to get people to authentically mess with your music. Because you put your pain into the music, and if it's actually your real life, you could touch on things

Starting point is 00:06:50 in a very complex fashion that people who haven't lived it cannot. So that's why I always say always be yourself in the music because people can tell if you're fibbing. And guess what? Guess who's going to call you out if you're out here telling the lie in your raps? But then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn. So anyways, with this announcement for the tour,

Starting point is 00:07:11 with this announcement for the album, safe to say, Rod Wave is going to do fantastic numbers as Last Lap did $127,000 first week. nostalgia did 137 first week and soulfly in 2021 did 130,000 first week now beautiful mind that came out 22 was a little bit of a down year for rod wave as that only did 115,000 first week as I say only I think this break helped out because of course people are going to miss you and now that you're putting out an album after not putting out an album for quite some time actually I guess he has put out an album every single year of 2021 2021

Starting point is 00:07:50 oh yeah ever since from 2019 yeah he's been working never mind he's been putting out an album every single year so 2025 is going to continue him putting out an album every single year and with that being said I still think that there was enough time passed because October 11th 2024 to

Starting point is 00:08:05 I think the album probably come out in November of this year I think that's a good enough time for people to miss you and listen to your album in full because people already seen Broadway songs well else I do I definitely do like there in the middle of a church song. I ain't gonna lie to you every single song

Starting point is 00:08:22 that come in as far as Rod Wave Soul Fly, which is my favorite Rod Wave. That's my favorite Rod Wave album. Every single song off of that album just feels like a church anthem. I ain't gonna lie to you as far as the way you can sing along. Rod Wave can actually sing. So he's not crooning.

Starting point is 00:08:38 He's not doing what a lot of people who can't sing do as as far as autotune effects. It's just straight soul from his authentic and organic voice. So that being said, That's the main thing I was wanting to get into. He does have a track out right now, titled Leaving. And if you don't know, this album is coming out under Alamo Records.

Starting point is 00:08:57 The music video for Leaving was directed by Jerry Production. And ultimately, just knowing when he goes on tour, you never know how many laps he's going to complete on this tour. So you might as well get it while it lasts.
