Get ready for the journey. All features and production credits will be revealed next Monday.
I want everyone to go into the album Blind with an open mind but make no mistake.
This was an extremely collaborative effort.
And I'm grateful for everyone who help make this come to life.
Till then, enjoy the music with your barriers down and antennas up.
San Diego
Santiago is here
And at this point
I can confidently say that
Russ is probably one of my favorite artists of all time
Just the lyrical ability
Combined with the fact that it's very
Versatile to go from an R&B
Soft-like track to a hard-hitting
Aidaway's Boombap
Type
lyric heavy
track is the type of versatility
that I always look for in an artist
because if you're going to be
one of my favorites, I feel like you should be
able to do a lot of different things,
which is why people like Drake, Chris Brown,
Russ,
who else,
Rihanna, Nikki,
like, it's a lot of different ways
that an artist can be versatile
other than rapping and singing.
But for Russ, I feel like that's where he really
excels at.
And also, what's not even close?
Like, I feel like he may be in one of
leagues of his own as his business mind and the way that he goes about his whole career.
I would say is similar to how Jay-Z is, and I know before y'all killed me, y'all have to hear me out.
So basically, I put a lot of credence into people saying something and then it actually happening
years later. Like if somebody says something and they can actually prove it years later,
it's kind of a profit-like effect that that person is not only talking to talk,
but he's also walking it as well,
because a lot of people, especially in the entertainment industry,
will tell you something that they're going to do,
tell you something that they're going to become,
and they end up accomplishing none of it.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't strive for your goals,
but my favorites and the ones that I take a lot of gems from
It's the ones who are able to say something
who, when it doesn't even look like,
that's even possible
and then actually make it happen.
Hopefully it makes sense for some of y'all.
But if not, then let's just get straight into the info
as Russ's new album, San Diego, or Santiago.
I think I keep mispronouncing it.
Is it tomato, tomato?
Or am I just mispronouncing it?
I think it's Santiago.
Yeah.
Because there's no E in it.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I swear I'm in college, y'all.
I swear.
But anyways, this album is said to be released soon,
And by soon, I mean, August 18th, 2023.
And the album cover, of course, it's a very interesting portrait, as you see right here.
Shameless Plug to Analytic Dreams video on Spotify to see the video version.
But basically, very interesting cover art he has right here.
It looks like the younger version of himself, the older version.
And then in the midst of it is like some type of weird.
I forget the actual what it's actually called.
It's like when you look at a picture, somebody sees one thing, but another person sees another, like somebody can see one thing and then the next person can see something completely different.
It's like one of those type of artworks.
And then to the next of the older Russ, it's like, I believe that's a lion, if I'm not mistaken.
I don't know.
So with that being said, Russ said it represents his mental, spiritual, physical, physical, physical.
and emotional journey to my treasure, which is just at the end of day, like, hey,
after seeing his career unfold, I believe it.
Like, I don't think a lot of people realize Russ,
y'all thought chance the rapper was bad, like, the amount of backlash he was getting.
But Russ, granted, some of it, he kind of caused himself from being very abrasive in interviews.
But the way that he would just come out and be like, yeah, I did this on my own, this on my own.
everybody was like, hold on, hold up now.
Other people had struggles to their rise to success as well,
and they felt like Russ was holding that against everybody unfairly.
So he had a lot of pushback from certain media outlets
simply because of his attitude towards people not believing in him
when he wasn't popping.
And now that he's popping, it was kind of like a,
it was a rift that they had to get over because of the,
the nature that he went about saying like, oh yeah, y'all didn't believe in me, but I did it all about myself.
I went through this journey and made it happen, stuff like that.
So I don't know, his personality definitely threw off a lot of people.
So a lot of people just started to trash rush.
And basically every time they seen Russ, they would say like, oh, I bet he made that too.
Or Russ did this or Russ did that.
And especially when there was like a shirt, when he was basically condemning taking drugs.
and fans like flipped it on them somehow.
I like, honestly, it was a time in history
where I'm like, bro, maybe I'm crazy
because I ain't seen nothing wrong
with the shirt that Russ was wearing.
But that's besides the point.
So anyways, the album is said to be a departure
from Russ's previous work.
It's expected to be more personal, introspective.
And what else?
He says he's excited to share this album, of course.
The album features
production from Russ himself, of course,
which is why everybody kills him.
He made the beat, he made the microphone,
he made the studio.
He was there with the builders
while they was coming up with the landscape
of the outlook of the building.
Everybody just be killing him
because he's just proud about him
being able to produce and rap,
which is nothing wrong with it,
but at the end of the day, I don't know.
I feel like Russ really had it bad,
but at this point in time,
I feel like it's
mellowed out because they've seen
him accomplish a lot of things that he said
way back in the past. They didn't
even look like it was possible for him.
So anyways, I think
he deserves a lot more respect than a lot of
these other artists who are on
major labels and
still can't go on tour and sell
like the way that Russ did. Like I said,
the performance
that Travis Scott was trying to do
with Utopia
when he tried to go to the
Pyramus of Giza.
I believe you need a certain permit for that.
But anyways, that's besides the point.
The only rapper who's ever been able to do that is the one you're looking at right now,
Russ.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, out of all the rappers to ever rap into a mic and do hip hop,
Russ has been the only one to be able to go to the pyramids of Giza and actually perform.
And don't say that's not a feat because one of the biggest artists in history,
just tried to go there and the guy completely denied.
So it's not as easy as people think.
So anyways, of course, there's going to be a concept album.
It's Russ's Journey to Self-Discovery.
Other things about the album is 12 tracks, 13 tracks long.
And I'm interested to see the features on it because as he said in his caption right here,
all features in production will be revealed next Monday.
So he didn't say this is like just him rapping.
It's going to be a very collaborative type of, it's going to be a very collaborative type of album.
And with his own production, with Boy Wanda also producing on the album,
his boy to be producing on the album, Timberland to be producing on the album,
I think we're in store for maybe one of the greatest albums of 2023.
So anyways, click my link to you in my bio.
Let me know one of my social media is.
What do you think about Russ dropping his new album,
Tiago and also what is your favorite thing about Russ and throughout his career and do you think
that he may eventually end up being one of the best rappers to ever live
