now obviously Russ must have a girlfriend because that man failed the open book test because
let me tell you something after seeing party next door's album cover this type of track
should have had that type of woman as far as the video vixen is considered you know
I'm saying no disrespect to the one that he chose for the video but it's almost as
one of those to where if you have a girlfriend, maybe you choose somebody that's not as, you know,
I mean, as, you know, your girlfriend. So then, you know, you could say, hey, like, come on now.
Like, you know what I mean? It's just work. So with the immaturity set to the side, this track
is beyond fire. It's like a chorus that never ends. The tone is a throwback. I forget what it's
samples. I think
I'm trying to think of what it samples.
I forget what it samples.
But anyways, it samples something popular.
I know that for a fact.
I just can't put my finger on it. But
I'm talking about specifically the
That's My Girl track because of course
the track that follows
that up is tired and that's a
two song EP. Basically
all of them are out on DSPs
now for you to listen to. And the biggest
thing is that tired is more of a
lyrical spat of getting across his emotions on his daily struggles and responsibilities.
It's more of a grown-up track.
Russ, you know, for all intents and purposes, has retroactively came back to give us
grown-up rap.
When he first came into the game, a lot of different outlets he was on.
Like I remember one time he was on everyday struggle.
And if you're a hip-hop, you know,
connoisseur you probably know who nadeska is if you don't she's somebody pretty pivotal in covering hip hop
as a journalist so he went on everyday struggle in the way he kind of went at her even if he has some
type of point to make it was very aggressive and put offish if that's even a phrase to people
who was first time russ um viewers you know i mean
first time seeing Russ and if that's how he's acting people could get turned off by the persona
which inherently i believe is what happened a lot of hate trains was sent towards russ's way
doesn't help that he always talks about him producing rapping and basically doing everything
as far as creating the the track you know and people started to make jokes like oh did did
Did Russ make the microphone or, you know, things of that nature?
But I don't want to focus solely on the hate train that Russ has, you know,
inherently created for himself.
But now, retroactively, he has came back and he's given us more reflective statements over,
if it's on the social media, reflective statements are, I remember Andrew Schultz's
flagrant podcast, one of the best, like, interviewer, uh, interviewer.
of a hip-hop artist as far as if you want to get the spectrum of the industry.
Any Russ interview with Joe Budden, I don't know if he's done academics, but the Andrew one,
all three of those just priceless information on how the hip-hop industry goes.
Because if you don't know, Russ is independent.
I believe Russ is still independent because I know last time.
my check so what that tells me is he's not playing the games anymore yeah it's 2024 diamond or demon
i don't know i'll just say his last name but anyways yeah so he's independent um talks about how
he puts his music out through tune core if you don't know tune core is one of those uh platforms
for independent artists to get their music out on dsps which nowadays is a lot of ways to get your
music out on ds um some that just came in a
past year or two. So with that being said, Russ is one of the people who capitalized off of that.
Obviously, he signed later in this career, but, but he went back to being independent once he,
he breaks it all down his own hip hop interview. Like breaking it all down here, we'll be here for
hours, which is why he literally has a book called It's All in Your Head. That's about 160 pages,
so a very quick read and um it released like back in november i believe 2019 i believe
it wasn't i don't think it was 2019 maybe it was i don't know anyways and then you say he drew
inspiration from books like the alchemist and the seven spiritual laws of success so the book is all
in your head i would say is a must read and um what else i mean he was
touring but I think he stopped I think his last show was in Barclays in Brooklyn
I don't know about his upcoming album I see if I got everything yeah that's
basically it so you know my personal sentiments set to aside this man has really
retroactively show people that he's not just some ego maniac that only
thinks about himself he's one of those that actually has introspective
perspectives if that makes sense i think the same thing anyways on the industry that will be eye
opening for hip hop connoisseurs and for that it's definitely something and worth checking out as most
hip-hop artists will gatekeep the type of information that russ would give you for free so with
that being said click my link to my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about russ's
new ep that's my girl and tired and also out of those two tracks which is you
your favorite and do you think Russ has effectively beat the hate train as far as when he
first started out?
