Starting point is 00:00:03 Push and if that's not anger. No, no, it's not anger. It's just what's right and what's wrong, what's fair. I've had a number two album, and I never cared. It's just that when you have a number two album to someone who's selling shirts and merch and selling passes for a tour that's not even announced yet, it feels like you're being tricked.
Starting point is 00:00:23 It feels like someone is playing a game and like beating you at a game as opposed to just selling music. I want to sell music. Right. So you're saying that's what he was doing. Yes, yes. He sold a lot of T-JECD.
Starting point is 00:00:33 shirts and sweaters mm t-shirts sweaters socks I mean goodness what this man is H and so anyways Sabrina Carpenter is currently going through the same thing that Travis Scott been doing since I think this debacle happened in 2018 because if you don't know that's when Travis Scott put out his classic body of work Asterold and of course the Asterold word is now known for a whole different event rest of and peace to those people um but as far as back then in 2018 it was known for being the name of the best album i think that travis skies ever put out um besides like uh days before the rodeo i think that was the one with the toy cover right anyways um nicky also put out an album around 2018 i think it was queen
Starting point is 00:01:27 but basically the premise of what i'm getting to uh what i'm getting towards is that in 2018 when yeah it was queen when queen came out and then when astro world came out they were battling for that number one spot the difference is Nikki was actually selling stream wise airplay wise as far as as as as far as actual purchases of music later to find out that she did try to do her own bundling system to compete with Travis Scott but you had to announce it or uh submit like months before things of that nature. Travis Scott being known for the fashion icon, he is. Not saying Nicky isn't, but you know, Travis is more into the fashion industry as far as being
Starting point is 00:02:13 accepted. He was selling, like Nikki just said, socks, shirts, hoodies. I mean, the modern day, H&L, if I've ever seen it. Because his merch was flying off the shelves. And who cares about a $3.99 album when you get the new. Travis Scott hoodie or colorway to a sneaker that you've been wanting, right? Because obviously there's going to be a lot more than the album. So just attaching the album to that, you're not going to care. If you're paying at least 80 to 150 for something, you're not going to care about that
Starting point is 00:02:51 $4 that's attached to it as far as to the album that comes with it. So that's basically what Travis Scott was doing, which they banned now. Hopefully you know that they banned it. But apparently they didn't ban it good enough. Because Travis Scott is out here battling it out with Sabrina Carpenter and has received backlash before it because of course they're both going for the number one spot. But interestingly enough, looking at the actual projections of how the album is doing because of course it's definitely being consumed as far as Travis Scott's album or it wouldn't even be close to battling it out for number one.
Starting point is 00:03:28 But as far as the projected analytics is concerned, as far as far as. as for September 7th. I mean, Sabrina Carpenter has several tracks from this album on the top 10 and the top 50 is considered. So, with please, please, please,
Starting point is 00:03:47 express on taste being in the top five projections as far as where it's going to be in totality of things. I mean, that's a Drake, Taylor Swift-like impact from dropping the album. So how is Travis Scott still competing with Sabrina Carpenter
Starting point is 00:04:04 with the 10 year old album that's already been out well if you noticed last year just because this re-release doesn't mean it's not going to sell just as well I mean if Taylor Swift showed you anything is that if you put out a re-release
Starting point is 00:04:21 and you have a strong enough fan base people are going to listen so days before the rodeo did come out and it was okay now that I said days before the rodeo reminds me so that wasn't the album uh my second favorite album was yeah rodeo actually no it wasn't it was birds in the trap i'm not gonna lie i've liked all travis scy albums okay sorry that's a little tangent uh days
Starting point is 00:04:48 i don't know how i got off on that tangent days before the rodeo 10 year anniversary came out 2014 he just re-released it for 2024 how it's selling like it is i have no idea but come to find out apparently Travis Scott is back to his always shortly after Billboard just ban the way of attaching bundles to your music because now there's all type of stipulations to how you're supposed to bundle things and you're supposed to submit your music early in advance so that they can package it you can't just put out your music and then sell your merch and then attach it in aftermath it has to be attached before as far as in a factory somewhere. I mean, it's like a, it's like a rule or something that they put out because of
Starting point is 00:05:35 this. Like, this was a big deal because let's say who's a fashion icon? I'm not too familiar with the fashion industry. Let's say OBJ, right? The wire receiver from the Giants. Well, I don't know. I don't know what he's doing now. He's doing something. I think he's still playing football. But anyways, him. He's very pivotal into the fashion industry as far as being in a a sports light and also being in a fashion industry if he put out a song and then attached it with like new that's that's not a good example let's do anthony edwards anthony edwards puts out a new color way of shoes but he also has a song attached to it but now he's charting in the top 50 usually that's how it could be abused in the future if they were not to change the rule so now
Starting point is 00:06:28 you have to submit your music way before uh along with the bundle as far as uh whatever merch you're selling for it to actually count and that prevented a lot of hip hop artists for doing it because if you don't know hip hop genre gets leaked way more frequently than other genres i don't know why you know the statistical evidence to prove that hip hip hop music is leaked the most hmm i wonder let me chill i'm not trying to get canceled but hey you can look that up for yourself country pop uh reggae k-pop Latin music, no other genre gets leaked like hip hop music does. I wonder why.
Starting point is 00:07:07 So anyways, with that being said, that's why people don't submit to music early as far as a month in advance. So that's why the rule in effect from Billboard stopped all that from happening. But now, with that rule basically going away and then being able to manipulate the numbers again, Travis Scott has released a 10-year-old album, a couple bundle sales, and now him and Sabrina Carpenter, who currently has three tracks. the top five, whereas days of the rodeo, even though it's a 10-year-old album, has no tracks in the top of 100.
Starting point is 00:07:41 So it has to be something else. It's not music because if we're going based off streams and airplay, Sabrina's literally dominating the music industry right now as far as her tracks, because she's been had tracks in the top three. That's not a new territory for her. But with this new album, we didn't know how many tracks from that specific album was going to impact the charts. Because, of course, Expresso and Please, Please, Please, has been in our top 10 for about like 20 to 30 weeks. Well, it's a little exaggeration.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Expresso, been on the charts for about 19 weeks. And please, please, please, please has been on the charts for about 11 weeks. So with that being said, Days of the Rodeo competing with Sabrina's album, short and sweet is very interesting and that is why a lot of people are coming out and are talking about it because it doesn't seem like it's a fair fight once again Travis Scott is pulling certain tricks and tactics behind the scenes selling certain things that's not music but attaching music to it and now it's being counted as a as a music purchase right If I buy your sock because you make the best socks in the industry or you're famous for your socks and then you attach your song along with it and now your song is getting huge sales because it's being manipulated as a music purchase, I believe other real musicians would get upset with that as well.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Just because it's Travis Scott and his quality is also at a high level when it comes to music doesn't mean we shouldn't still point out the fact that he's out here selling socks, shirts, hoodies along. with music and calling it an album purchase so with that being said um one of the biggest things that triggered me uh not triggered but uh alerted me as far as like how to figure out if he was actually doing it again and once i did figure it out it was it was all said and done because i figured it out but so Travis got is selling five digital editions of days before the rodeo on his website and this is basically a strategy used during the Taylor Swift's versus Kanye West rivalry. There's nothing wrong with releasing digital tracks or things of that nature.
Starting point is 00:10:07 But because there's nothing wrong with it, guess who also came out with her own digital track? Oh, you guessed it. Sabrina Carpenter put out a surprise B word. I wonder who she was talking about. Probably Travis Scott. I wrote Busy Woman with Jack and Amy just after I turned in short and sweet. How much of a coincidence is that?
Starting point is 00:10:30 Anyways, it was so sad I couldn't include it. It's one of my favorites. So I wanted to give it to you as a thank you for all the love. Available to download now for a limited time only on my online store. It's almost like she put up a counter to Travis Scott putting out five digital editions of days before the rodeo. So I enjoy this. I love this type of back and forth because. being passionate about getting that number one spot is what the music industry is made of as far as the competition and how it brings out the best in people because if you don't know when you get a number one you can add that to your list of accolades for when you go to recoup from your major label you can say I have this many number ones and so number two is still a number two you know still was better than everybody else except that one album but you know if you're close enough you might as well go for that number one spot I mean it's like
Starting point is 00:11:30 being in a marathon race and then you see the finish line and somebody's like a little bit behind you you're like hold up maybe maybe i should pick it up a little bit so that's basically what Sabrina did we're putting out this uh um this new track for her sales because i do believe she'll come out on top but i actually with the way that Travis Scott is playing the scene and if y'all don't know uh Travis Scott is under um is he under sony still let me see Travis Scott is under under yeah he's under sony okay so it's technically not universal but it's still Sony so we're still going to have to see what ends up happening because you know when you're under a major label they still have their people who who's who has certain pool in the industry so like I
Starting point is 00:12:23 always say these artists are the players but the owners are the real impactors as far as what music sells and what does it and guess what Sabrina Carpenter is under UMG recordings that's interesting so I would I would predict that Sabrina would end up getting this dub in the battle for the number one because unlike Nikki when she put out queen and Travis Scott put out Asterold you know and he inevitably got number one for AstorWorld it's still interesting that Travis Scott is still back to his old ways, even though they tried to patch it. It's like 2K. They tried to patch the move, and somehow this man came back with a new move, but it basically
Starting point is 00:13:12 works the same. So with that being said, you know, there's a lot of things that's going on in this. I mean, it's a huge battle. It's a pretty significant battle because this is a, this would be Sabrina's first number one. So I don't know Travis Scott did this on purpose because we've been new, Sabrina. was putting out this album days before the rodeo the 10 year anniversary came out of nowhere so i don't think it's beef i don't know why they would have beef for him to drop on her date i just think maybe
Starting point is 00:13:43 it's just competition that turned a little ugly because of the fan bases and now with them doing their own tactics to counteract one another i think it's very interesting and we're going to see what comes about it because uh as far as Travis scott's strategy as far as Sabrina's strategy is definitely reminiscent of when Taylor Swift and Kanye West was going at it for their number one spot as far as the strategies that they were implementing because of course they were also competing for the for the number one spot earlier this year if you don't remember Voltures 2 came out not too long ago but Taylor Swift still beat out Vultures 2 because of course people still play Taylor every single day.
Starting point is 00:14:31 So her album was still going for that number one spot. I think Taylor Swift pulled a Sabrina basically putting out a new rendition or a deluxe edition that just blew Voltress 2 out of the water. So with that being said, that's why I say it reminds me of that. But if Sabrina Carpenter ends up getting a number one, which, you know, I'm highly confident, as you will, it would be her first number one as far as the Billboard 200 is considered. And following her success of please, please, please and espresso, I mean, it's just going to be icing on the cake as far as the achievements that she's garnered in 2024.
Starting point is 00:15:08 And definitely there will be a Grammy with her name on it because of her strong dominance over the music industry in 2024. So with that being said, click my link to your bio. Let me know one of my social media is. What do you all think about this intense competition between Sabrina Carpenter and Travis Scott for the number one spot. And what is your biggest way? What is your biggest takeaway from this entire beef?
