Alibi is the track we're getting into today by Sevdala.
Now talk about a unique name.
Now I would say that name as far as the uniqueness is still on the upper side of quality because that's a pretty nice name.
But that's not all I have to say about this particular artist as one of the biggest things when it comes to Seve Daliza is that the blend of alt pop, which I don't know if you heard that before, but alt-pop and Latin
rhythms while also incorporating regga tone and funk karaoke is something that
Sevedalizer does tremendously.
You know, sampling is something that helps tracks as far as the nostalgia factor making
people more receptive, more receptive.
So with that being the case, the actual track Alibi also samples Rosa by Tota, La Mopocina,
La
Mompocina
Hopefully I said that right
I don't know
That particular
sample has a traditional
Colombian carnival music
But of course
Let's get into the numbers
Because that's one of the biggest things
I love to talk about
Because if you're not impacting the masses
Then at this point
As far as having a major label
It's unacceptable
But for Sebdala
She's under Twisted Elegance
Which is a music label
based in the Netherlands. Now, they have El-Eleana and Sevdala, which the, so Sevdalaza.
I know I'm messing up these names, right? These names are whipping me right now. But her debut album,
Isan, was published through Twisted Elegance in 2017. So as far as 2024 and her still being
under the label, I think it's safe to assume she's enjoying her.
time with the label as they've had significant achievements when it comes to the musical landscape
and of course something that will keep popping up i mean until the u.s government takes it down but
the ticot impact is second to none as she's garnered over one million creations on ticot even
before its release so talk about workhorse in this industry and definitely not taking your foot
off the gas when it comes to the momentum.
So as far as the streams is considered, she debuted at number 95, marking her first entry ever.
And then as far as Billboard Global 200, she reached 16th on the charts.
Now, you're probably wondering, how in the world do you debut at number 16 in Global, but only 95 in Hot 100?
Well, Global considers all the metrics as far as all the regions.
The regular billboard, which is U.S., you know, it's safe to say, it's just U.S.centric.
So even when it comes to certified tracks and albums, whether it's gold, platinum, diamond, RIAA for overseas artists needs a minimum amount of units sold in the U.S. for them to certify it at all.
So why is that a thing?
Ask the US.
So anyways, self-dializer definitely had a lot of streams in the US as she accumulated 5.6 million official US streams in the tracking week,
definitely contributing to our overall sales, which is why she's even able to put out this amount of these amount of like versions of the track.
Because if you don't know, there's a whole entire EP for Alibi.
There's part two.
I mean, it is Alibahe part two.
But the overall, having four tracks, 12 minutes, it's very interesting.
Because I'm not going to say it's breaking the rules, right?
I'm not going to accuse her of cheating or manipulating the rules.
But if it's four tracks with the same exact sound, then my brother, that is a playlist.
And as a musician, I think you should let your fans make the playlist.
Now, if you want to make different versions of the track and put it all in one EP, quote-unquote, then that's okay.
Like, if you want to make a slow-down version, a sped-up version, I don't know, like a regga tone-specific version, hip-hop version, then that's okay.
But the four tracks when it's the same exact sound, that sounds more like a playlist to me, a streaming playlist.
I'm not saying that she's using a streaming for her.
I'm just saying that it's pretty interesting the way that she released this track.
So even though it's already significant in her own,
in her hometown, and especially her having a music label based on Netherlands
that only has her and another artist to be making these amount of significant achievements
and these jumps on the charts to even chart with you being an overseas artist
and seemingly independent because I haven't heard of twisted elegance even though in her hometown
that's probably a powerhouse at this point but whenever you're getting into the overall
competition with the big dogs and the music scene I would say that these type of tactics are
definitely frowned upon simply for the fact that it comes off that you're trying to manipulate
numbers which everybody manipulates numbers but I'm just saying maybe a little bit maybe
be a little bit more effort should be put forth on the smoking mirrors part of the marketing effort.
So yeah, with that being said, I mean, Alibi was originally released June 28, 24.
So for this track to still be having success on the charts and for it to still be in the Latin music scene going crazy.
I mean, it's only right that she puts out a part two for the track Alibi.
So with that being said, click my link to your in my bio.
me know one of my social media is what do you think about self dialyzer and her alibi part
two and if you're a self dialyzer fan what is your favorite track
