When it comes to numbers, surprisingly, Sexy Red is still putting up certain performances on the charts that I did not see coming.
Because let me tell you something.
It is a great spot to be in where your quality does not have to be at a certain level to gain millions of dollars.
Which at first may seem like hate.
But I'm basically giving kudos to sexy Red because to this day, I look up.
sexy red and I get a adult content warning.
So in my mind, I'm thinking no way could this have any brand sponsorship value or impact
the masses simply for the fact that you cannot effectively look up this artist's name without
getting some type of adult content warning, right?
You would think that's logic or sound thinking when it comes to the
masses well obviously not as sexy red still putting up ginormous numbers as the get it sexy track has
been on the charts for nine going on 10 weeks still at number 25 as far as the top 100 tracks in the
world so with that being considered the extended charts which is you know extended projections
for june 1st is showing it's showing that the track will be sliding to number 30 but with this new album
that just dropped on all DSPs titled Insects who we trust,
I wouldn't be surprised if it rises.
As this is under Gamma,
if you don't know the whole conspiracy theory
about all artists under Gamma
getting a percentage of the profits sent towards Drake,
that's a whole conspiracy theory right now.
I'm not going to get into it,
but I wouldn't be surprised if it's true.
So that being said,
you know, Cardi B, glorified.
Gorilla, Flomilly, Lotto, Sexy Red, currently are the only charting female rappers on Apple Music Top 200.
But who is out here selling actual tickets, going on actual tours, selling out stadiums?
Well, I don't even know if a stadium.
Selling out arenas is the one Onika Tanya Mirage.
So don't let the public perception fool you.
selling a ticket putting actual butts and seats for people to come out and see you perform live
it's still the superior metric when it comes to gauging who's the most successful or popular
artists so Nikki still has that sewn up as I don't think Cardi has ever went on a arena tour
yet because I don't know if it's because she was pregnant or what it was but she hasn't really went on a tour
as successful as Nikki and and neither has flow millie lotto sexy red so the reason why i'm saying
is because all these numbers i'm throwing at you as far as sexy red just having this immense
success on the charts we still have to see it uh convert into actual ticket sales i'm not talking
festivals i'm talking actual ticket sales where they're coming for you specifically so
you know i try to give you stats to go along with my thoughts to try to make
make it seem like I'm not just straight up hating because, you know, obviously people are just
going to say, oh, you just hate no sexy red. But, you know, sometimes you got to show them
stats to corroborate some of the things that I'm putting in front of you. So with that being said,
back in September 14th, 2023, sexy reds ski ye debuted at number one for the first time ever.
Oh, no, no, for the first ever TikTok Billboard Top 50. And the reason why that's so important,
because if you don't know, TikTok has been influential and very impactful when it comes to musicians' careers,
which is why the whole universal music versus TikTok is such a big deal because a lot of musicians lost a lot of money
because of UMG taking their respective artists off of that platform.
So with that being said, this album features Drake, Little Baby, Mike Will made it, and Vaughn
off 1700.
Safe to say that Drake is the biggest name off of this features list.
Now,
is that surprising?
No.
Because when I look at the album,
actually,
let's just go to it right quick.
When you look at the album about sexy red,
in sexy we trust.
Spotify is the only place where I can look up sexy red
and I get a dope content warning.
But it's 33 minutes and 17 seconds.
I don't know about y'all,
but that's not enough.
So as far as sales, don't expect sexy red to do immense sales analytically when it comes to a body of work because it's 33 minutes, which is, I think it's barely, I think it's still considered an EP if it's under 40 some minutes.
Don't quote me on that, but I believe it's EP if it's under 40 minutes.
but basically
the reason why I'm saying that is because
the Drake feature will help out immensely
Little Baby and
whoever the other person was Vaughn off 1700
No disrespect to you
I just don't know who you are
But having a Drake feature
I think will help out a lot
When it comes to sales because a lot of people
are going to go to it
based off the fact that Drake is wrapping over a BBO jersey sample
So
with that in mind my sentiments over this collaboration over this sophomore mixtape i guess you know coming after hood
hottest princess that also had pound town ski ye on it um it's just interesting to see where
sexy's career would end up going because having this immense support from drake is just
funny because as an OVO artist, I will feel some type of way. Let's just leave it at that.
So I just think with this overall album, I don't expect any crazy sales. But if people start to say like,
this is a falling off type album, just remember it's 33 minutes. It's really not too much to
work with when you're talking about replayability. So it may not sell as well. But as far as the
track what's the track called as far as a specific track get it sexy i could see it rising back up
from the back to the 25th spot because the extended charge the same 30th so i could see it being
hired in 25 because of the album and people going back to the track but as far as the track with drake
i don't know where that would end up because um i think people are fed up with drake currently so yeah
But I'm not spending too much time on sexy.
Honestly, I don't think she's a great artist.
I think she's pretty terrible, actually.
As far as like top five terrible artists or hip hop musicians,
I think what Sexy Red does to the culture of hip hop is very demonstrative
when it comes to the overall quality.
Because like I just said, artists like Lotto, Flo Millie, Megan LaSalleon,
I really enjoy the music, Glorilla, Cardi B, so I don't think it's like a one.
women thing. Let's not do that.
Like, I'm one of the main people who's covering
Flo Millie's album because
I don't know if y'all have noticed.
A lot of people didn't want to cover her music.
So, and I'm, I like
the Cape for the women
a lot when it comes to sales. I remember Joe Budden
was saying it's over
for women rap. When,
in actuality, when you look
at the charts, I mean,
I, um,
what's the name?
When you look at Flow Millie,
when you look at Ice Spice,
look at Megan the Stallion with Boa that's still on the charts,
it's very apparent that it's obviously not over.
And if you look at the up-and-coming female rappers,
compared to the up-and-coming male rappers,
the female rappers are out selling them tenfold.
I'm not talking about the legacy acts like Kendrick Drake.
Obviously, they're going to do the most numbers.
But up-and-coming rappers, women, are really over.
overtaking the metrics when it comes to analytically impacting the charts.
So don't think it's just a female is bad at rapping type take.
It's just more of a sexy red.
It's terrible at rapping type take.
So hopefully you can differentiate it too.
So anyways, click my link tree in my bio.
Let me know one of my social medias.
