I was told this was going to be like a dinner.
So I didn't prepare a speech at all.
But I just want to say I'm like super grateful and super honored to just be here on this stage.
You know, I never thought in my like wildest dreams that I would be here getting an award like this.
You know, there's so many people here I want to thank.
There's so many people that, you know, I think, you know, we should all be up here together.
So this is basically Shibuzi, which if you don't know, he has a long 10-year career in making music, of course, more notably on Beyonce's latest album, Cowboy Carter, where he made multiple features and definitely added a unique addition to the album vocally.
But this is specifically, just for him, as he's currently currently,
accepting the Billboard Hot Country Songs number one chart plaque. So this is his
basically, this is basically his speech for winning this award. You know, this is not just
for me. This is for everybody that's really just making change in the space. You know,
Mike and Tanya, I see y'all. You know what I mean? I remember hearing Hey, Driver for the first time
and just crying my eyes out. I see Raina Robertson here as well. I know there's a couple other
people that may not be here, may be here, Tanner, Willie,
everybody. I just, you know, super, you guys mean a lot to me and everything you guys have done in this.
You know, we're here together. And my message has always been, my message has been integration and
just bringing people together and just sharing stories, you know. It's never been about anything
other than that. So, you know, thank you so much. And also thank Beyonce, too. What am I talking about?
The Queen. Thank y'all so much. Love y'all. Seriously.
So, of course, that was his speech for winning the
billboard hot country songs number one chart plaque and for the specific song you might be asking that he won this award for shibuzi made a track titled a bar song in parentheses tipsy where it had record-breaking achievements still to this day is on the charts in the top five more specifically number five does it as it peaked at number five been on the charts for about four weeks and
it seems like sales-wise, it's just blowing other songs out of the roof where I think with Shibuzi,
it's people coming around to the fact that he's not an industry plant.
Usually that title is thrown around by casuals who don't know the previous discography
of the person they're talking about.
Because unless somebody first track or first album has the biggest names,
known in the industry on the album,
then I would find it hard to believe
an artist is an industry plant.
Shibuzi is basically
one of those type of artists
where the coverage is beyond ignorant
because a lot of people call him an industry plant
simply because they saw him multiple times
on Beyonce's Cowboy Carter.
But if you look further into his discography,
into him putting out a certain type of music even before Lil Nas X kind of took it to another level with Old Town Road.
You would recognize that he has been integrated in this genre for such a long time, but he's just now received the spotlight.
And some would say that Beyonce has a lot to do with that because of him appearing on Cowboy Carter.
But regardless of all the ignorant takes of him being an industry plant, it's just plainly.
untrue because one of the things about living in a diverse music culture is that sometimes the
influence that you get will mesh together and then you can make your own creative vision so with
shabuzzi making country and hip hop and having those elements all throughout his music to the
point where his first viral hit was like back in 2015 i think it was the track jeff gordon and then
with the second album Cowboy
Cowboys Live Forever
Outlaws Never Die
that was released back in 2022
you could see why
and how the industry plant
takes on Shibuzi
is very ignorant and probably
shouldn't be said in discrediting
somebody who's been putting in work
since 2015.
So anyways, some of the things
that stood out to me
as far as affecting the masses
is of course this track reaching number one on hot country songs
regarding a bar song in parentheses tipsy
but is historic simply for the fact that it's back-to-back number ones
by black artists in the country genre
and then debuting a top digital song sales list
peaking at number three on Billboard Hot 100
supremely viral on TikTok,
which at this point,
if you don't have TikTok as an organic
marketing
marketing
machine for your
song or album, then you're
probably playing behind the
eight ball because a lot of other artists
are playing TikTok games to get their
songs boosted in the
TikTok algorithm. Because we've
seen that TikTok is supremely
influential on the
the younger generation to a point where now, the more likely to check out the rest of your music.
So with that being said, of course, he was on Beyonce's album multiple times, like I just said,
but people need to know that his upcoming future plans is basically him being on his own
because he has an album titled Where I've Been isn't where I'm going.
That's set to come out May 31st.
We don't know if it will, but it's set to come out.
come out May 31st then he'll be opening for a pop artist Jesse Murph and then with that of course
he is probably trying to get some type of recognition even more than the billboard number one for
being on hot country charts as I think he'll be setting his sights on maybe a Grammy nomination
but you know that's always decided by a certain group when it comes to voting so we don't know how that's
going to work but what we do know is that he's on empire as far as the music label and that his success
is seen as a changing of the times in country music so to be on empire label support co-managed by range
media's jerry carter you can kind of take away
that a bar song by Shibuzzi is a historic achievement, immense success, and something that
shouldn't be taken for granted or just called a industry plant song simply for the fact that you
want to discredit this man's work. His career has been highly documented that you can go back to
like 2015 to see all the work he's been putting in to contribute to creating a greater diversity
and integration within country music and I think that needs to be the focal point when we highlight
and talk about Shibuzi. So with that being said, click my link tree in my bio. Let me know
one of my social medias. Have you listened to the track? A bar song by Shibuzi and if you have,
do you think the track is fire or trash?
