Asake, Shalapopi,
Pause.
You guys.
Whiz Kid.
And then of course, Burner Boy.
But then you know what I'm saying?
What do all of these artists have in common?
Well, I'm glad you asked.
They received a feature from the one and only Gunnattello.
I mean, Gunna, aka Sergio Kitchens,
in the year of 2025 now when it comes to that safe to say we're getting into shali poppy's
track him featuring gunna and if you don't know he also released the ep you know if all
these tracks came out around the same time but shallow poppy also has tracks with raw alexandro
bernaboy and gunna talk about covering the spectrum i respect the selection of features for this album
as a person who covers the entire music industry raw alexander burner boy and gunner are phenomenal picks for
covering not only your own genre because if you don't know he shallopopy does most of his numbers
in the nigeria space right and of course he does numbers in the u.s too but he mostly leaves
Nigeria he's one of the biggest artists from nigeria and he mixes a lot of Nigerian street
pop with pigeon slang and of course i don't know what that means but hey that's exactly what he makes
so as far as afrobe's trap fusion um a lot of breakout hits from him specifically
was, I don't even have to say that,
oscalation and not so.
If those are provocative or ex,
uh,
if those are provocative words or cuss words,
hey, guess what?
I didn't,
I had no idea.
So,
uh,
when it comes to Gunna,
specifically why I wanted to talk about with Gunna,
he has currently the 24th most played project in the world with his
album,
the last one.
Now, that came out a while ago.
So as far as longevity,
Gunna's having a phenomenal 2025.
I mean,
one of the best in hip hop.
always,
always keep bringing up.
up how hip hop artists are struggling to have longevity on the charts if you're not drake if you're not
size seven i mean um white tank top if you're not cardy it's going to be a lot of artists on the charts
that are not hip hop right so when it comes to that specifically oh shout to blayboy carty uh
j i d who else that's basically all the hip hop artists i name literally those are only people on the
charts as far as as far as top 50 when it comes to albums now when it comes to singles gunna also
has a track uh his most popular track that's charting on the charts is the 60 second most played
track in the world and then guess who's on it just take a gander the one and only burner boy so safe to say
gunna recognized the Nigerian connection as far as to the masses and that being his most successful
track off of his album also that track is just phenomenal like literally if you was in the studio
with burner boy he gave that verse and then there was a section
of his verse where he just let the beat play
and he was like crooning over the beat.
So it's basically like a space of no,
no lines, no nothing.
But after the phenomenal verse he gave,
you're probably in the studio like,
hey, let him have that space to just get off his crooning, right?
Because guess what?
His verse was phenomenal.
Even though it was short, right?
Because he cut it off to do his crooning or whatever.
It was still a phenomenal verse.
So let's just call that track, WGFT,
just because it's a PG podcast.
Anyways, when it comes to Gunna and Burner Boy having a tremendous connection, safe to say that he's back again with Shally Poppy. Pause.
You guys. See, that's the problem.
With this track, Hymn as the overall EP is titled Hym after the track featuring Gunna.
And of course, this specific track is used for D.S. for playlisting as far as what they wanted to highlight off of the EP.
So if you don't know his breakout year, as far as Shali Pappy came in
2023 with his hit Presido La Pluta EP.
So a lot of things that he has is bubbling up in the Nigeria space,
more specifically been in cities where he originated from.
And then of course, going from that to the global appeal,
it's definitely not easy and safe to say that he's accomplished that,
especially with the type of music that he's putting out now,
that's under Pluto Mania records.
So I'm just going to say he's independent.
I've never heard of 93 under exclusive license to Pluto Mania records.
I don't even know what that means.
Like, is he independent or not?
So I was assumed that he is.
So looking at this Afrobeast and Gunna takeover in 2025, it's not a takeover,
but still having and being one of the few hip-hop artists is still on the charts as far as longevity
with the track with Burnaboy, WGFT, and then putting out another track with
the Afrobeast artists no telling where this song's going to go but it seems like it's doing well
especially on the Afrobeast chart as it debuted in the top 10 and on the Afrobeats chart specifically
so now when you look at the TikTok aspect as far as 20 000 duets in under 24 hours
accounting for 15% of the stream growth you can see the different marketing strategies being
used to uplift this specific track because now you're looking at it from a standpoint of
Hold up now. Gunna may have found the solution to the equation of how to get a hip hop artist popping.
Because of course, in the year of 2025, I'm not going to give all my secrets away.
But let's just say, expanding your portfolio and basically getting out of your comfort zone helps more than it hurts.
And with that being said, shout to everybody who's been supporting my K-pop demon hunter's coverage.
So there's a reason why I'm saying, artists collabing with.
out of genre artists who also sonically kind of mixes with your music maybe it would help more if
people are more open-minded hey i'm gonna let them figure that out so anyways this track is phenomenal i like
the track from shallow poppy and and uh gonna pause once more because his name is crazy his name's crazy
and then when it comes to the overall consensus a lot of people are enjoying it and of course once again
gunna finds himself in the perfect execution of
a Nigerian energy mix with Gunna flow. So with that being said, click my link to show my bio.
Let me know one of my social medias. What do you think about Shala Poppy as an artist? And of course,
what do you think about the specific track, him featuring Gunna?
