Starting point is 00:00:04 Sin Myers Civilization 7. Now, of course, with this being the seventh iteration into the series, you already know that the overall franchise has been impacting the masses for quite some time. Now, of course, this is the latest installment in the franchise that came out February 11th, 2025. And when it comes to this particular game, it's not necessarily topping the charts on Xbox, on PlayStation or even Steam. But in general, when it comes to the overall sales of civilization, you have to recognize that it's been making an immense impact as it debuted at number two behind EA Sports FC when it officially came out. And of course, the Nintendo Switch version was the best selling console version as far as 27% of total sales.
Starting point is 00:00:58 So it seems like when it comes to civilization, people prefer to play this game on a Nintendo Switch. Now, of course, when you talk about the actual revenue generated, that's a whole another discussion as when this game, well, before this game, even released February 11, 2025, it had immense anticipation, especially from the masses that was one and again to this game. And with the strategy of pre-orders that's implemented by a lot of video games, if not all, combined with the early access for Deluxe and Founders Edition, starting, February 6th, it basically ended up being a success as it added to the high peak count of concurrent players on platforms like Steam, where it surpassed 60,000 players in early access.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Now, of course, when it comes to overall sales, it has a lot of different successes as far as on the UK charts specifically, and like I said, it being as far as the console is most popular on, it's Nintendo, which actually don't have the Nintendo charts up. because I think, let me see, because who develops this game? Because I believe the developers for civilization, if I can find it, I think I had it up here. Okay. Fire Access games founded by Sid Meier, known for Deep Strategy Games. So it is out on PC, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and of course the Nintendo Switch with, this is funny, with the VR version.
Starting point is 00:02:34 launching in spring 2025 who's excited for the VR version I anyways all jokes aside looking at the actual charts for the switch is actually the fourth most popular game on the switch so yeah just like I was talking about as far as previously it is most popular on a Nintendo switch right behind Mario Car 8 deluxe which is very insane because you already know that Mario dominates the Nintendo field I mean it's literally it literally has two out of the top five in the Nintendo Switch charts. But Kingdom Come Deliverance comes at number four, which is a very significant, especially
Starting point is 00:03:10 when talking about its impact on the masses. Now, of course, for people just completely out of the loop on what civilization entails, basically it's a guide, is to guide a civilization from ancient times to the modern era. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, managing growth, diplomacy, warfare, culture, etc. Everything entails you impacting the masses in a way that they can move forward in life. So you may have to give a couple MLK speeches. You may have to round up the troops and be on the front line. You may have to just do everything that is needed to push your civilization forward. Now, of course, with that sets aside, when it comes to the maps and things in that nature, there's terrain effects where it affects movement, combat, and resources.
Starting point is 00:04:02 when it comes to specifically talking about managing your civilization, you're going to be developing cities, investing into research technologies, negotiate treaties, and wage wars. So when it comes to this game, I'm not going to lie, it seems pretty nerdy. This is a very nerdy game, and I cover games for a living. So when it comes to the premise of this particular game, I think, safe to say that this is a thinking man's game. I mean, you know, I don't want to give no hot takes, but I'm pretty sure. this is probably a thinking man or woman's game.
Starting point is 00:04:34 You know what I'm saying? As far as being able to effectively execute strategies and think ahead. I would compare it to more of a chess-like game as far as it being mentally stimulating as far as you're dealing with a lot of conditions while you're trying to bring your civilization from ancient times to the modern era. So, of course, when it comes to domination science, culture, diplomacy, religion, and just the overall score, that is all entailed in this specific video game. So hopefully they cleared it up for you.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Now, of course, when it comes to civilization, there has to be some type of endgame, right? So when it comes to the standard playthrough is 8 to 12 hours per game. But as far as extended playtime, hundreds of hours with different, you can have hundreds of hours with different civilization strategies and mods. So when it comes to the launch, as far as it coming out on February 11, 2025, and then doing three million copies sold in this first month, you kind of realize that as far as impacted the masses, it already had that type of appeal. And even though it's not topping the charts on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, it's still very popular on the Nintendo Switch being the most, being the fourth most play game on that platform. And when you're on all platforms like civilization is, I think that just overall helps with, metrics as far as sales are considered because a lot of exclusives are completely cut out from certain player basis because of their exclusives right so when this game is out on every platform and then
Starting point is 00:06:13 it has a great debut to the point where it follows a bad debut by continuing to captivate the masses as three million copies sold in the first month i'm pretty sure that's a success in most people's but i don't know i mean let net let net ease tell it you can make one of the more popular games ever created in the past what five to six months and you still get laid off ain't that so anyways we're going to get to that later but um yeah so a lot of people just laying off um entire studios and things that nature so you love to see a developing studio gets a get a w because man is it a rough time just in life in general as far as getting laid off and having to find another income to uh i think the dots is the word your bills and things that nature so when it comes to the developer of fire
Starting point is 00:07:05 access games founded by sid and myer i'm so glad that they found success because too many games are coming out being successful and people are still getting laid off for that looking at looking directly at net east so that's probably one of the more negative sides of the gaming industry as far as the high turnover rate but anyways like i was saying the vr version is launching spring 2025 and then there is a potential take this with a grain of salt but there's a potential mobile port based on civilization seven's mobile success so that's a potential future um port with that being said let's get into some of this overall sales as far as the review roundup i gna gave this game a seven out of ten euro gamer gave this a four out of ten goodness they was were they hating or what they on to some a pc gamer like i said
Starting point is 00:07:53 it's a thinking man a woman's game so you know what i mean i don't know maybe the person let me chill So a game spot gave this an 8 out of 10. Xbox era gave it 8.6 out of 10. Wargamer gave it a 7 through 8 out of 10. How does it even work? And with that being said, MetaCredit gave it an 80 out of 100. So as you can tell, I mean, for the most part, people are enjoying this game.
Starting point is 00:08:17 And when it comes to strategies involved with resource expansion and diplomacy, that should be your thinking going into this game if you're wanting to try it out because that is what this game entails. And the main thing about this game is very, very strategy-based. You know what I mean? It shouldn't be rocket signs to know that leading a civilization is probably going to be a lot of strategy that goes into it.
Starting point is 00:08:39 So anyways, it does support multiplayer as online and local player, including what in the world? Is that word? Is that asynchronous? Is that how you say it? Hold on a second. Let me let Jarvis read off for me. Asynchronous mode.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Mm, okay. I learn a new word every day. A synchronicus mode. I don't know what that means. Now I got to look that up because what in the world does that word mean? I know it's sinking something, right? But we just don't know what. That's the main thing I'm trying to figure out. All right. So a synchronous is not existing or happening at the same time. Uh, multiplayer mode, I guess that makes sense because technically maybe you'll be having two civilizations, but in the same lobby. I don't know what that means. But that's my guess. I don't know. That could be completely wrong. But hey, learn something every day, right? So with the developing studio, Fire Axis having a missed success with the review scores being, you know, primarily very positive when it comes to the game.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Obviously, I already went over the sales and things of that nature. And of course, this being one of the top strategy games just in the world currently. when it comes to the masses. And then, of course, the cultural impact of it being one of the most influential strategy franchises in gaming history, which is probably why it's the seventh iteration of the series. So, that being said, click my link, sure in my bio, let me know in one of my social media. What do you think about Sid Meyers, Civilization 7? And if you love strategy games, will you be giving this game a try?
