Shepard promise me you'll tell them to subscribe for a free content now if I was to tell you that a rogue light
Turnbase card game is currently the third most play game on Steam
you'll probably be looking at me like what I know that ain't who I think it is and it gets even better ladies and gentlemen not only is a rogue light
one of the most play games on Steam currently but then you come to realize three
million units out the gate.
Some reported 3.3 million, but that's not it.
75 million as far as steam revenue.
And then of course, last but definitely not least,
of five breaking 500,000 24 hour peak, more specifically,
526,000.
And then you realize this game's not even out yet.
Shepherd.
All right, you know, officially.
speaking it technically is out on steam but when you look at the official launch is not it doesn't
even have a release date as far as the actual official version of slay the spire two which we're
getting into for this specific segment as you if you didn't know when you look at slayed the spire
two is following the roadmap of the original slayed aspire because of course that particular game
came out exclusively on PC.
And it didn't come to consoles or mobile
to one to two years after early access,
similar to, and that's going to be the similar rollout
for Slade of Spire 2.
So now you're looking at roughly 2027
before you can even get your hands
on one of the most infectious games
that's currently notoriously affecting the masses.
Shepard, just look at the state of gaming.
Like, what is going on?
So yes, this game.
game as far as Slade Aspire 2 has launched in early access on March 5th, 2026.
And of course, you would be thinking that I made it up when I tell you the numbers for this
specific game. So I'm just going to show you. Analytic Dreams video on Spotify to see the video
along with the audio because this right here, ladies and gentlemen, I don't think this is normal
by any stretch of the imagination. Because of course, when you look at players right now being over
200,000 for a turn-based card game when you look at the all-time peak for 10 days ago being
574,000 and of course when you look at the 24-hour peak being 24 hours when you look at the 24-hour
peak be at 526,000 you come to realize this turn-based game has encapsinated consumers
more specifically gamers in a way that we have not seen before and of course you would think this came
out of the blue right you would think why is a roguelight game coming out of the
blue with a sequel and just notoriously affected the masses I mean it's not like it's one of
the most profitable roguelight games ever right you guys well let me let me let me
let you in a little secret when it comes to the overall success of roguelites slade
aspire is no stranger to top in the charts as when you look at the top three
you have the binding of Isaac Rebirth
that sold around 10 million plus units
you have at number two
for Rogelites mind you
Hades with 8 million plus units
and of course at number three
what is that
Slay the Spire 2
Shepard
Just look at the state of gaming
Like what is going on
So the state of gaming
is basically everybody
anticipating Slade the Spire 2
because Slade the Spire 1 did so phenomenal
as far as on the charts
as far as critical reception and of course objectively speaking as far as revenue it rose to
ground-breaking heights especially for a rogue-like deck builder because of course the blending of a card
strategy turn-based combat and procedural runs earned widespread acclaim built a massive community
and of course influenced countless imitators i'm not going to say what the imitators are
Monster Train, Belontro.
All right, my fault.
I ain't tried to start no drama in the video game community.
But you know when it comes to copycats, safe to say,
a wise man once said,
if your formula is not being copied,
then how great is it?
So anyways, with that being said,
getting back into giving a misprice to Slade the Spire 2,
safe to say they laid the groundwork
for a lot of different titles to
come after them that got not the same critical acclaim but got a lie as far as more specifically
belatro you know not trying to discredit belotro just it's just one of the games that lets you know
how influential slade despire is in general so anyways when you look at slay despire originally
as far as when it came out in 2019 alone it sold over 1.5 million copies on steam with a strong
China sales at 43% and of course the total lifeline sales lifetime sales grew to the
point where it made it the third most profitable rogue light of all time and of course
Balatra if those are wondering it's currently at number 10 as far as the most
profitable roguelights of all time and guess what Slate the Spire 2 just overtook
that for the nice lot you guys so I'm just letting you know we're putting a
misrespect on this company because at the end of the day these the
developers as far as mega crit that seattle based remote team i think with the founders being anthony
uh geo von netty hopefully i said it right and ksi yano they are definitely
celebrating with whatever they celebrate with because this is a monumental accomplishment to
not only notoriously affect the masses once but to come back again with a sequel and for people
to not only be anticipating it because mind you this was 2019
So now in 2026, people are still anticipating your sequel to the point they came out in droves.
And, of course, already went over the numbers.
So now, when you look at the timeline for this game coming to console and mobile, that's why I started off with that.
Because don't expect it any time soon.
If there's anything like Slade the Spire 1, it's going to stay on PC and early access for like 1 to 2 years before porting to console and mobile, similar to Slate the Spire 1.
being roughly 1.5 years before it came to console and PC.
So I would look around 2027 before you even think of Slade of Spire 2 coming to consoles or mobile.
So with that being said, I did want to get into the development
because of course going from Slade the Spire 1 to Slade the Spire 2,
we did have a little drama, ladies and gentlemen.
You guys.
And it had me thinking to myself.
I know that ain't who I think it is.
Because here I am thinking Unity is just such a great engine to use, right?
well slade aspire did not think the same way you guys see that's the problem the developers meg megacrit along with a lot of other developers um had a very interesting issue with unity as when he came to the backlash the unity runtime fee drama in september 20203 was the was the straw that broke the camels back because of course the developers of slade aspire basically um denounced them
and went with another engine.
So now, when you look at major popular games publicly denouncing them, Slade Aspire is one of them,
MegaCrip fully ported Slade Aspire 2 to Go Dot after denouncing Unity.
Others, like Ballistic NG, canceled ports due to uncertainty.
And of course, when you look at the games that Unity did retain,
such as a Hollow Night Silk Song
and various other indie hits
safe to say that
Unity is probably thinking to themselves
they're saying they've slayed a spire
if
Ballistic NG
don't want to use our engine
then
Woot they do and we beat Eifolde
we beat them we go forward
I'm not going to lie
still retaining Hollow Night Silk Song
is still phenomenal accomplishment
and seeing how that game came out
so
when looking at
Slate the Spire 2, you're probably wondering to yourself.
Well, what can I expect to get into if I try this, if I give this game a try myself?
I'm glad you asked.
As the gameplay loop for this rogue-like deck builder is one, it's turn base,
basically the core loop is building a deck during runs,
managing your energy per turn,
fight through procedurally influenced map,
and defeating bosses across Axe to Complete Run.
now i will add that i believe this specific game would be phenomenal for people who have a pc and a steam deck
because of course you're seeing right now and it live dreams video on spotify to see the video along with
the audio you're seeing how the game plays i think when it comes to a steam deck after you enjoy
a session on your desktop or whatever you can easily go to your steam deck and still have the same
the same experience now you know not to discredit your graphics but you know you know you
y'all know what y'all looking at like it's not going to be that intensive because sometimes you'd be like
oh it's a whole different experience i'll go to my steam deck you won't have to worry about that when it comes to uh
this specific game so anyways the combat mechanics is car types of course attack skills power status
the mechanics is block poison vulnerability debuffs and when it comes to slade aspire too we do have a
lot of returning characters such as ironclad which is strength silent which is poison slash discard
defect which is orb mechanics but then for slade aspire 2 we have new comers such as necrobinder
which is an exhaust pile equaling resource summons skeletons doom mechanic and of course you have
regent which is a celestial abilities plus secondary resource so now you come to realize not only
do they have what made slade the spire special but of course just like any sequel should
is also adding very highly as for features and they included it in the sequel so now when you look at the multiplayer aspect is up to four players so simultaneous actions not turn base which is a major design shift by the way and of course you have branching maps such as alternate paths environments enemies and bosses so when you look at the additional quests you have another additional systems you have
have the quest cards which is challenge based rewards you have curse powers you have risk
slash reward you have blessings slash asians uh post boss and you have smarter enemy behaviors
but of course for the people who have jobs out there safe to say this game will not
disrespect your time as a single run duration is going to be from 45 to 60 minutes now
i know what you're saying you probably like hold up now you guys
How much is this game?
I'm not going to lie.
That's a great question.
I think it's $25.
Yeah, it's $25.
So it is an early access, but the main thing about this game is extended play.
This is what I mean by that.
So the single run duration is 45 to 60 minutes.
Main completion such as a one successful run is 5 to 6 hours.
Extended play, which is unlocking and experimenting, takes about 15 plus hours.
And of course with every card game, there's an expert loop that you can get infatuated with.
And that completion slash mastery run will run you to 100 to 150 plus hours.
So now you kind of get in Minecraft territory where the game is only as long as you want it to be.
You can make it longer.
You can make it shorter.
Slade Espire 2 ultimately really respects your time.
So when looking at other things, as far as you.
the market performance it jumped to number one on steam as far as global top sellers out
uh somehow you know but finally counter strike two and dota two was finally um
overridden as far as you know the players concurrently playing uh slated aspire two when it first came out
but of course it went back down to currently me looking at the charts as of right now
it's the fourth most played game on steam but still phenomenal accomplishment especially for a
roguelight there's no other roguelight on this list by the way just a bunch of live service games
games, Apex Legends, Ark Raiders, Marvel rivals.
I mean, you know, Slade and Spider-2s is very different out of the top selling list on the Steam.
So anyways, when you're looking at the way it jumped to the top out the gate,
I think the more impressive stat, because $500,000 for a car game, it's still an impressive accomplishment.
I don't care where it goes after this.
but keeping the 200 to 270,000 range for a 24-hour peak,
not 24-hour peak for the concurrent player count,
I think that's immaculate.
I mean, that's basically everybody cannot get enough of this game
and they're trying to dive into every nook and cranny
to figure out how to get better at Slade the Spire 2.
So now, for people who are enjoying the game,
just know that there has been confirmed future content.
as there are going to be alternate versions of act two and three with more cards events environments and upcoming features such as badge slash scoring system revamp a friends only leaderboard a phobia accessibility mode oh they must have spiders in this game it reminds me of what resident evil did with recrium um more art and vfx continuous balance
patches, Steam Workshop with mod support, multi-player quality of life improvements, and Twitch
integration. Now, I'm not too sure what the Twitch integration mean, because can't you already
put the game on when you're streaming? I don't know. Maybe I don't know what that means.
So anyways, but that's what you can look forward to for the enthusiasts of Slade Despire 2 fans out
there. So other things I wanted to talk about is, of course, you know, besides the Unity
engine besides slade the spire two doing phenomenal it is one of the more popular roguelike games just
in general in the gaming space so when you see slade the spire two doing phenomenal just don't think it
came out of nowhere slay the spire one originally in 2019 rose to the point where it is now
objectively speaking the third most profitable roguelike game only behind hades and the binding of isaac
And it's barely behind Hades, by the way.
Hades has 8 million plus units.
Slade Aspire has 7 million plus units.
So just letting you know how many people are enjoying just the gameplay loop that this game play loop that this game has provided.
So, of course, with that being said, let's get into some other people who enjoy the gameplay loop with a little review roundup.
As IGN gave this game a 9 out of 10 saying, in early access, Slade Aspire 2 doesn't wrap.
re-themed their original's deck-building roguelight successes.
But it does build on top of them in a way that reinvigorates
and its captivating gameplay.
The fact that Slade aspires two early access debut plays so similarly
to the groundbreaking original deck-building roguelike makes this one of the easiest
recommendations I've ever given.
And then of course, you have,
so there's a lot of people who didn't give scores
because I guess the game's technically not out.
So let's go to Steam.
So Steam user reviews is mostly positive.
I say mostly.
I mean, 97%.
I mean, it's overwhelmingly positive.
Some of the quotes say,
Amazing game, first days of early access,
and it already feels like a straight up improvement
over the original Slade Aspire.
This will take weeks off of my life.
Another person said, quote, once again, mega crit, which is the developers of this game,
has created something dangerously addictive.
Dangerously.
I added that one.
It's the kind of game where just one more run turns into five without you even noticing.
You guys.
I would say that's a phenomenal game if I do say so myself.
So anyways, last but definitely not least, a YouTube reviewer gave it an 8.5 at a 10, basically saying,
And so far, I would give it 8.5-8-10-1 in the world.
Hey, I should have read that before.
So, like I said, this is in the early access, so I think technically publications, I don't know.
I guess they don't want to give any definitive scores.
I would like, you know, yeah, they don't really give, uh, they're not giving any numerical scores.
Like Polygon, Kotaku, they're just giving an impression.
So let's just give their impression.
So Kotaku said, quote, it turns out that Slade of Spire 2 is quite similar.
and I'm just delighted it is
because this is an even better game
dot dot dot oh my goodness
this is like slayed aspire
but better
that was very dramatic but I'm reading it
just like they wrote it Polygon
they said quote
Slade the Spire 2 looks phenomenal
it's not the most obvious game for a visual upgrade
nor has it been given
some kind of 4K triple A sheen
I think he means shine
but by
Slade Aspire 2 plays like
D.O.C.
17 hours in, I'm glad
it's not one, dot, dot, dot.
I need a Slade Aspire 2 to be good.
And by good, I mean almost exactly
the same as the original
Slade Despire comma
with a few twists.
Slay the Spire 2 is good.
Shepherd.
Just look at the state of gaming
like, what is going on?
So as far as the state of gaming, expect people to be on this card game for quite some time as far as a foreseeable future.
Expecting to get the Bellatro treatment as far as it being a nominee for, you know, nominated for game of the year.
Because, of course, when you look at the landscape of games, you do want people who notoriously affect the masses to offer something unique.
And I will say it doesn't get more unique than being in a sea of live service shooter games and having a great.
a turn-based card game top in the charts on steam so shout out to who's the developer's name again
shout out to megacrit for making such a phenomenal game so with that being said click my link
true in my bio let me know one of my social medias have you been playing slayed aspire two
will you be interested in checking it out and if you have played it what is your favorite
part about this roguelite term based card game
