Analytic Dreamz: Notorious Mass Effect - "SLEEP TOKEN - EVEN IN ARCADIA"

Starting point is 00:00:03 Just imagine impacting the masses to the point where the notorious mass effect that you have leads you to earning your first ever number one album in Australia. But not only that, doing that as a mask rock band is insanity. I think there needs to be something said for people who are able to keep their personas hidden while also having a notorious mass effect. because if you look at the Jabberwockies, obviously they do a great job at making the brand the main thing and the people behind the scenes are more or less in the shadows because they wear the mask. I would compare that to what Sleep Token is doing, but musically, as when it comes to the overall persona, it's very interesting as it's a British rock band that we do know. And as far as being formed in London in 2016, the band blends a lot of metal, pop, and hip, hip hop in atmospheric elements. But when it comes to identity, the core members are in anonymity, which is insane because how do you get this big by keeping this mystique? Now, of course,

Starting point is 00:01:17 this has been done before, like I said to Jabberwockes. And I do believe it's maybe different interchanging members. But essentially, as far as their breakout album in 2019 breakthrough was sun drowning, as far as my coverage of them on this podcast, as far as back in March 28th, 2025, me covering their track, Demosis, I think that's how you say it, as far as I also covered emergence as that track was doing phenomenal to the point where it debuted at 57 on Billboard Hot 100. I believe it's not on Billboard right now. As when it comes to the latest album, even in Arcadia, that's basically what I wanted to focus on as this album is 56 minutes in length 10 tracks total and this has been put out under RCA records under exclusive license from sleep token.

Starting point is 00:02:10 So all of that information said to the side, y'all let me know the last time you've seen a musician or band retain complete anonymity while impacting the masses. At some point, especially with the evolution of technology like this is not superhero land, right? How in the world does Spider-Man never get track back to his house when he turned into Peter Park. I'm not saying you should track these people back to the house because that's a crime, right? I'm just saying with the evolution of technology, you've never seen them at the band take a break, take off the mask a little bit, or maybe they backstage take off their mask, you know, talking to their loved ones, something like that.

Starting point is 00:02:47 Like as far as the evolution and technology, we never figured out any of the, any of the identities for these members in the band. It's just very perplexing. So anyways, the main thing for the segment, is shouting out sleep token for having their first ever number one album in australia with her album that's out now titled even in arcadia and then of course um the previous album as far as take me back to eden ended up going number three and that was all the way back in 2023 so it showcases how not only are they doing phenomenal on the charts but they're also having a increasing fan base to the

Starting point is 00:03:29 point where they are topping the numbers that they did previously with their last album, which is always a great sign, especially from a sponsorship perspective, as far as seeing that chart consistently go up and you're increasing your engagement. So when it comes to that, I do believe these artists who have these type of anonymity identities will also impact the masses is a very coveted thing for people who just want to put out their art without being personally attacked you see this in politics a lot i'm not going to get into politics but you see this in politics a lot as when you dive into politics people bring up any and everything you did wrong and your whole entire past to discredit your political run now music a very more

Starting point is 00:04:19 lighthearted note people dive into your past and now people that are your loved ones start to get attacked and don't let them get some type of uh i forget what it's called i don't think it's a pseudo relationship is that what's called let me see pseudo relationship i think that's what means yeah okay that's what i'm talking about a pseudo relationship to where you're a supporter through your content falls in love with you and now you have a real life significant other and now they're attacking that person so that's why i say this is a coveted this is a coveted type of strategy that they have going on right now because if somebody could just put out their art receive all the proceeds from the art being great and still and still retain that complete anonymity I think that's one of the main things that's showcasing how sleep token is one of the most unique artists in the world and I say that with all sincerity because I cover k-pop I cover latin music I cover even bollywood artists I cover a lot of different genres no artist at this magnitude was ever able to keep their identity completely a secret.

Starting point is 00:05:32 So how Sleep Tokens did it or done it, maybe they have talked to the creators of Superman and Spider-Man. I mean, you know, R.P. to Stanley. But as far as keeping your identity in wraps while you regain this popularity through your craft is a phenomenal accomplishment.
