Now, honestly, I don't think I've ever discussed Flow Millie on this podcast.
And what I'm about to get into will reveal that that was a huge mistake as Flow Millie is one of those names that needs to be thrown into the pot when we're discussing up-and-coming women rappers.
Because for the longest, I was wondering what was the whole intrigue about
flow milly because i've never seen her like perform honestly as far as the charts are considered and that's
usually what i look at as this podcast is really about trying to discuss people who impact the charts on a
global scale but without well with further research i realize that flow milly has a top 20 hit
and not only does she have a top 20 hit most streams daily
As far as the Spotify, charts are concerned with her having 3.33 million putting her at number nine,
which is basically in the mix when it comes to the younger women rat feel.
I mean, of course, you have a dojicad, Nikki amongst the top.
And then you have Megan the Stallion, Ice Spice, Lotto, and then Flo Millie.
So, I mean, as far as the top nine, you have like Doja Cat, Nikki, Nikki Nicole.
I don't know who that is.
Michael, Cardi B, Megan the Stallion, Ice Spice, Lotto, and Flo Millie in that order.
And also, Doja Cat, Nikki, it's a huge drop-off after that.
Like, they have 14, and then the next is like $7 to $6 million.
So anyways, as far as who runs the rap industry, obviously we know it's Onika, Tanya, Marage, and Dojicat.
But currently, with Flo Millie having immense success on the charts currently,
Siza has came to help her out a little bit when it comes to, I guess, recognition from the masses as the remix, 4 Never Lose Me is set to have Siza because if you don't know, Flo Millie's from Alabama.
I know that's a random fun fact, but as far as the rap scene and Alabama, let's just say the two doesn't correlate often.
Like, I think the only thing that Alabama really is known for is road tide and how many college football championships can they win in a row, you know?
So when it comes to the music side of things, especially hip hop, that's a foreign concept coming from an Alabama native, I would say.
So, of course, another thing that stuck out to me is that Flo Millie is about 20 years.
is old. So that in itself is crazy as that obviously puts her in the conversation as one of the more
up-and-coming premier artists because such a young age, a lot of potential is to be had by somebody
who is already having success on the charts. So when I talk about never speaking on Flow
Millie on my podcast, obviously there's a mistake. Like you can't talk about every musician
in the world. But as far as the rappers impacting the charts, it's not really too many that we can name.
I mean, I think recently Joe Budden said that women rap is over. But in all transparency, I think he may be
out of touch, obviously. As Flo Millie, Ice Spice, Megan the Stallion, Cardi B, Nikki, really you can
make a case that women rappers are putting up better numbers than the male rappers. It's
far as their up and coming is concerned because our up and coming male rappers aren't as impactful
on the charts but if we look at our legacy actors or our legacy acts as far as a Travis
Scott or Drake a Kanye and yes they are legacy at this point obviously they are going to
perform but as far as the up and coming male rapper or rap is concerned I don't know if
you can name too many impacting the charts currently
more than actually i mean let's just count it off i have the actually have the charts right here
so of course we have conier that doesn't count he's a legacy act then we have dojicat and 21 savage
and then we have let me see tyler doesn't count she's r m b bryson tiller doesn't count he's rm b
um mooney long i think she she counts for women uh i mean as far as like the up-and-coming i don't know how long
she's been in the game that's why I say that um not trying to be disrespectful that's crazy uh doja cat
i already said doja cat then we have flow milly so already we have in the top 25 to 27 we have
three up-and-coming women rappers only one up-and-coming male rapper and some could argue that 21 Savage is
already established so because he came from 2016 is 2024 so basically coming on the
Coming upon a decade, I mean, 21 Savage is reaching that legacy act status because I think it's like a decade plus when you're considered the legacy act.
Because for most people, hip hop is like a, it's like being a running back in NFL.
Like you don't really get that many years as far as having success on the charts.
So when Joe Button said like the women rap field was just over, obviously he's just out of touch and he's not looking at the analytics because that thing.
Called analytics lets you see what the masses are consuming and obviously is way more up-and-coming women rappers than it is male rappers.
So with that being said, the biggest thing I wanted to get to that is that Cizza is on the remix for Never Lose Me set to come out this Friday.
And what else?
flow milly basically had our first hot 100 top 20 single with never lose me i already covered that
um re flow milly plans to release a third remix rmb pop uh the collaboration with cizza all right yeah
so that's basically it so anyways click my link tree in my bio and let me know one of my social
medias what do you think about the current rap field with the women up and coming rappers just
taken over and in all extra uh in all honesty have you heard flow millie's music and if not
will you be checking out her never lose me remix with sisa this friday
