Starting point is 00:00:04 The interesting thing is, Jermaine has a track out now on all DSPs titled Grippy. Now, why is that interesting? Because of the next point I'm about to make. Jermaine also just put out a track along with T. Grizzly, so he's not totally exonerated. Titled, blow for blow. interestingly enough that is some of the most outrageous titles i've ever seen during a feature run so
Starting point is 00:00:49 when he comes on the track blow for blow and says i'm the go simply off features we really have to put into place some criteria as far as how to label tracks especially hip-hop tracks Now with that out the way, all jokes aside, everybody knows that I just love Jermaine's music and he's just really one of the greatest rappers to ever live, right? So that being completely false. And if you listen to the podcast, you definitely know that I think Jermaine's one of the most overrated rappers to ever live in this hip hop game. So when he doesn't have a track in the top 200 as far as Billboard, actually, when he doesn't have a track in the top 100 as far as Billboard, when he doesn't have an album charting as far as the top 50s, when it comes to Billboard. And then people talk about the big dogs, who's actually big dogs, as far as the top three in the hip-hop industry.
Starting point is 00:01:46 When it comes to Kendrick, Drake, and Future, Kendrick has two albums in the top 50. Drake, of course, has one. And then when it comes to Future, he just put out mixtape Pluto. But obviously, his album before, as far as with Metro is on the charts. as far as the 27th most play album in the world. And then you have his actual tracks that are charting with like that being the 34th most played track in the world. And then if you look at the mixtape Pluto projections,
Starting point is 00:02:20 Teflon, Don, Little Demon, and the Two Fas is all set to debut in the top 25. So safe to say that actual top three of hip hop is performing well in the field that we call hip hop. So that's why I just wanted to say. You know, just a little objective facts. You know, sometimes people think you hate him, but at the end of day, you got laid it out because, of course, Germain's a hip-hop timeout for what he did to Kendrick or what he didn't do. Well, I guess what he did do to Kendrick and then apologize for doing that to Kendrick.
Starting point is 00:02:50 That's why he's in hip-hop timeout. So all these features, as far as Blow for Blow, as far as some track, I think it was Collard Greens, which I didn't even know that track came out. Is it even out on DSPs? Collared. You know what that track is. of collard greens um i do not think this out on dsps yeah that track is not out at all so i don't even know why people are counting that but anyways um the track with j cole as far as daylight and j cole is currently out on on dsps um no that's not right why is it saying that
Starting point is 00:03:39 oh i think somebody just uploaded oh okay i was like what yeah so that that truck track as far as the plate of collard greens is not out what daylight but the blow for blow track with t grizzly is out on all dsps and i'm not going to lie the verse is beyond solid i like the way that germane performed on the track and as far as the title blow for blow i think they was really showcasing how versatile both of the deliveries can be when it comes to diverse and the standout amongst the verse as far as the masses as him shouting out j hope because of the whole btas behind the scenes type stuff and then he was shouting out j hope because if you don't know they i mean i think they have a past collaboration um together so yeah i think it was back in march 2023 where j hope featured j cole
Starting point is 00:04:37 featured j cole on his track for on the street i believe i'll cover that if you look it up j hope jose or you just look up Jay Hope, analytic dreams, it should pop up. But T. Grizzly, since May 24, has released so many singles as far as swearing to God, because, you know, everybody loves to put stuff on God when they lie, which is a whole other conversation. But he had Detroit featuring 42 Doug. His last major project was T's Coney Island. What in the world?
Starting point is 00:05:12 and obviously I'm not too familiar with T. Grizzly's music when it comes to 2024. Because just because you stream a lot doesn't mean you have high quality. And just because you don't stream a lot doesn't mean you have low quality. And with T. Grizzly, he falls on the latter side. He doesn't stream a lot when it comes to the major players in the hip hop. But what I will say is he is one of the more versatile. Retire rappers that I've heard in the game as far as the up-and-coming young rappers, which, how old is T. Grisley? I think he is...
Starting point is 00:05:53 Okay, so he's 30. He's Steph Curry's jersey number, which, you know, it's definitely a milestone. You know, it's definitely a milestone. But, hey, more life, right? So anyways, T. Grizzly, just a little older, but still, his versatility is on full display. I think he's one of the more prominent rapping rappers in the game. because if you've never heard Detroit's freestyle by Big Sean, yeah,
Starting point is 00:06:19 Big Sean had like all the Detroit rappers come on for this freestyle, I believe. Yeah, it's titled Friday Night's Cipher. And guess who goes first? T. Grisley. Because, I mean, if you want somebody to pop it off, I mean, you usually use somebody who can come on and really give a great, can really grab somebody's attention in the first two or three bars.
Starting point is 00:06:38 So that's what T. Grizzly did. And he continues to do that time and time again. So now, fast forward to 2024, September 27th, he has a whole track with Jay Cole with them going, No ditty, blow for blow. So with the music video, with the actual bars from both of them, I don't see this being an actual track that like charts high. I could be wrong, but I would say that the beat is catchy enough for this to blow up. But as far as the lyrics, I mean, they really rapping, like they're really rapping. And that's usually not what people garner.
Starting point is 00:07:16 That's not what people gravitate towards. I mean, as you, the artist, I'm about to get into it, which I completely have to eat my words on him because Playbwick Cardi currently has the 15th most played track in the world, like on Planet Earth. Granted, the track just came out. But for it to debut that high, I mean, even if it slides a little bit, it's still an accomplishment in itself as far as a single for his upcoming album.
Starting point is 00:07:38 So for Blow for Blow by T. Grizzling and Jay Cole, I just am hard pressed to see this gaining any type of traction in the top 50, let alone the top 100. It may debut at like 60, 70, but overall, this is just Jay Cole just giving a little lyrical exercise to his fans. So I'm not mad at it. I like it. I will always point out that Jermaine's the most overrated rapper in the hip-hop industry. And I will always point out how this man made a whole dish. track Torres Kendrick that you can't find on DSPs mind you if you type in seven minute drill
Starting point is 00:08:17 let's go go to your local DSP type in seven minute drill hold up did he put this back up actually it just popped up for me hold let me try I click on it oh song unavailable because j cole is overrated now just playing it does say song unavailable you can still start radio based on this artist like just the weakest move ever so you type in seven minute you can't play it why can't you play it because he made a whole disc towards kendrick and apologized right after on his main stage as far as dreamville because people forget why we put jermaine and hip-hop timeout it's not because he was being peaceful and kensig was just bullying him and now we're like okay you're a hip-hop timeout it's because jermaine hopped out the window like he was about to start
Starting point is 00:09:06 going back and forth with this man everybody knows what he was talking about and then immediately like talk about the show first 48 You know when they're trying to solve a murder? And like under 48 hours? Well, Jermaine was trying to prevent a murder under 48 hours, which is why he went on his own festival,
Starting point is 00:09:28 his own festival in front of his own fans and told them, hey, y'all love Kendrick with me too. And then just walked out the stage. We were like, hold up. Is this not hip hop? So, yeah, this man is in hip-hop timeout for an indefinite amount of time.
Starting point is 00:09:46 But I will give Chris, credit when credit is due because he's still one of the more masterful lyricists when it comes to putting words together and um that could never be discredited i just always am hesitant on the top three placement he always gets when kendrick is leaps and bounds ahead of him and to me germain just does what kendrick does on a much lower level so to be top three in hip-hop i think you have to really innovate and and influence a certain number of people and future i just believe is leaps and bounds above germane in that category so my top three would be of course drake means to go come on now kendrick and then future so if i wasn't gonna gonna have future i would have taller the creator in there like oddball like there's a whole
Starting point is 00:10:38 other lane started by a rapper that that does his own thing like i think top three really has to have higher criteria criteria when we're talking about who belongs in it and that the history and a resume that comes along with that. So anyways, yeah, Jermaine will continue to be the most overrated rapper and hip hop artists in history. So that being said, click my link tory in my bio. Let me know on one of my social media is. What do you think about that blow for blow coming off grippy by J. Cole? And which song do you think is better?
