Now, if fighting games was in a drought, I wouldn't be able to tell because currently, I would say, you know, excluding MK1, all the fighting games have lived up to its launch.
Let's just say that.
And as a fighting game connoisseur, I would say that my card as being a fighting gamer or just a gamer,
that enjoys the fighting genre has to be revoked for the foreseeable future simply because
I did not think that Tekken was going to end up being this good. Now, I'm not the biggest
Tekin person, even though I did grow up playing Tekin against my dad. And being younger,
obviously Tekken was the go-to because if you don't know, more to combat was not for little kids.
So Tekken was my go-to fighting game and Street Fighter.
So more of combat then come to later down the line and then I enjoyed that more than the other fighting games that I've seen on the market.
So to be in 2024 and have Tekken 8 be arguably the best fighting game that came out between Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat definitely surprised me to the point where I was like, okay, well, I have to give it some type of review because I looked at my podcast and I was like, how are you such a fun?
fake gamer to not have even touched on Tekken at least once.
So, so all my fighting game,
so all my fighting gamers out there, you know,
sincerely apologize, but here is my overall thoughts about Tekken 8
and of course a review roundup for those who want like more of an overview of the video game.
Because that's also going to serve.
That's also what I'm going to have in this segment.
As a lot of the reviews let you know that this game was
going to be a normal tech and release as our IGN came out gave in a 9 out of 10 Metacritic gave
it a 90 out of 100 PC gamer gave it an 89 out of 100 Euro gamer gave it a 5 out of 5
game informer gave it an 8.3 out of 10 so you kind of see a pattern all of these critics came out
and basically said that the game is a very well-made experience as far as the
tech and community and
I think the biggest thing
with the reviews being
positive
is that
it's more of a powerhouse
in the series
in the sense that
it may be one of the greatest
teching games ever made
and to me when I was hearing that
I was like there's no way but then they talked about all
this stuff in the game like there's a thing called
the AI ghost where
literally you play the game
a certain amount of
after playing a game a certain amount
there's a whole copy of your playstyle and you can literally play yourself and it will fight like you
and before you you know dismiss it and be like oh that just sounds like a gimmick i've seen it i've
watched it from current streamers that i enjoy watching and literally it does mistakes that they've
made in the past and it does the strings that they usually do in a match so it really mimics
through your play style and it uses AI and you already know the evolution of AI has led to a lot of
advancements as far as what used to be harder to come across so now with the whole AI goes and you
fighting yourself that's probably one of the biggest things I've seen as far as the evolution in the
gaming industry uh well the fighting game industry because this is other thing where you can literally
like you're in the league like you're in the national basketball association
you can watch film on yourself and pause and literally start the match from that point and correct your mistake.
So let's say you fight a person online and then you go back and watch film.
You can start from that specific point and fight again.
And the AI will help walk you through what you, what mistakes you made to come on top for next time.
So it's just a lot of details that makes the game.
And you kind of see it on the screen right now.
It's more of like the tutorial mode.
So it's not like the exact replication.
But, and also and the League Dreams video to see the video along with the audio.
But basically, the way that this is structured, the way that they put so much detail into the online mode.
Because once again, I would say that being able to have private lobbies, were you fighting with your friends?
that's one of the biggest things in a fighting game that should be had at launch i'm looking
exactly at you nether realm and mortar combat one rushing got an online mode that didn't even have
private lobbies and i know a lot of people may say king of the hill but as we all know king of
the hill it's not the same as just having a regular private lobby with your friends so anyways um
some of the other things we got into as far as uh tech and eight is
you know there's patch notes as far as platforms there is crossplay um the game is on ps5 Xbox
series X and S PC via steam full cross play support across PlayStation Xbox and PC
platforms and the game's story mode consents of like 15 chapters taking approximately two hours
to be that's crazy that story mode is super short um but yeah there's a single player mode that
allows instant activation of certain attacks and techniques.
Blocking mechanics explained.
Oh, they're just talking about like regular need to know stuff.
And then release information.
It came out, okay, so it came out January 26th, 2024.
I've already said the platforms is available on.
What else?
The base roster features 32 characters, goodness.
With Eddie Gordo confirmed as the first DLC character.
I think Eddie's the one they be dancing around, right?
That's interesting.
He wasn't in a base game.
But also, another thing, I don't know if it's just me, but wasn't there an old man that
was literally the main antagonist of Tekken?
Where's he at?
That's how you know I ain't been playing Tekin for a minute because I'm like,
well, isn't he like the main figurehead?
That's like not having Scorpion in the game, right?
Or am I tripping?
So anyways, Kyle, but remember there was like an old dude who used to who up on the sons
or whatever, and he's not even in this game at all.
I must be missing something.
But maybe he's coming later.
Like, you know how Street Fighter is doing with Akuma, which to this day, Akuma is still not
a street fighter, but he's supposed to be coming at some point.
But the old guy for Tekken, maybe they're doing the same marketing strategy and putting
him in later.
So anyways, there's paid items, micro transactions coming.
A lot of fans of Tekken have expressed disinterest in micro transactions.
but it's more cosmetic so i mean if you don't like it then don't buy it um what else there's free and
paid items in the tech and shop anti-cheat measures like always let me see what else yeah so that's
basically oh there was an update so there was a patch that happened not too long ago um that includes
character customization features and the dresses cheating and multiplayer and various bug fixes
boundless changes across specific characters in general moves and modes so you know the usual
when it comes to pass notes and fighting games um yeah that's basically it uh the overview you need to know
is that tech and eight it may be the best installment in the series and i'm i haven't played the game
but just hearing you know a consensus of reviews um listening to why they say that because i always you know
I don't just listen to just, you know, random words.
You know, I try to see what's actually in the game because you can say all you want about
a game, but the game is the game.
Like, you're going to be able to see what's actually facts and what's fiction.
And what you see is a very polished fighting game overall to the point where I'm not mad
at all these claims that may be the best tech in the series.
So at the end of the day, I think I'm.
will actually i'm probably not going to give this a try because that yeah this guy right here
hold up it just showed him so this old man right here what happened to him i ain't gonna lie all right
that's what we're doing so click my link sure in my bio let me know it uh click my link sure in my bio
let me know in one of my social medias who is like where is this man at like is he dead like
why is he not the face of this game anymore like i remember this old man being like
the figurehead he's like the akuma of teckin i know all the teckin connoisseurs out there is probably have
you know obvious answer that they're screaming at the screen right now but for me i'm just ignorant
so where's this man at so anyways that's why i'm gonna leave it off on so anyways click my
link to my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about the overview of teckin
as far as reviews being positive and if you've played teckon if you play teckon eight what is your
favorite part about the game
