Starting point is 00:00:03 Diving deeper into Thames with her latest album born in a while that just was released. It's such a celebratory process right now for the fans of Tim's simply for the fact that it's a whopping 18 tracks. Now I don't know if y'all know, but the last time Tim's put out an album was back in 2020. And that was 20 minutes and 42 seconds, a whopping seven tracks. This album, Born in the Wild, came out June 6th, well, technically today, so June 7th, 2024, and it's a whopping 54 minutes, 25 seconds, and a 18 track project. And this is under RCA Records, so you could probably assume who advocated for more tracks on this project. But with that being said, I know some people will probably say the Black Panther Wakanda soundtrack, but that's not really an album. that's more of a
Starting point is 00:01:01 offering if anything because that's not your whole album that's just a compilation of all the best musicians and Tim's just credited along with Rihanna do people say that's a Rihanna album so I don't think anybody says that but I just wanted to clear that up so anyways the previous singles of course was Love Me
Starting point is 00:01:20 J J J J J J I don't know I said that is it J J J J J. I think it's J J J J J. I'm just going to say that so that's one of the singles the other single is Me and You one of the bigger tracks that her fan that her fan base is seemingly enjoying is the track
Starting point is 00:01:37 Wicked is and one of the things about that is that it samples the song by Ivorian Azuglau artist magic system from the album the same name from the album that literally means
Starting point is 00:01:54 first fool or whatever because the song that she's sampling is titled turk i can't bro i cannot pronounce the angle like to you anyways it's a sampling that and the whole premise of the song that thames is sampling is basically telling the story of an aspiring musician whose girlfriend leaves him because of his poverty i was sorry i should have laughed at that but goodness hey hey what connie west said i ain't saying she a gold digger but anyways um so with that being said this album has 18 tracks um the track me and you reached number three on u.s afro beat
Starting point is 00:02:36 song charts which is interesting because i looked at the overall charts and i couldn't find any of her previous singles but i guess they're specifically talking about afrobeats which technically is where you know she um originated from so you know i would hope she dominates that specific lane so love me jj reached number four on the u.s. Afrobeat song charts and number nine on the hot R&B songs and then number 27 on the R&B slash hip hop airplay. And with that one outstanding international song at the 2024 NA in a in a in double in a NAACP what as a black man.
Starting point is 00:03:15 I don't know why they took me so long to pronounce that. That's my fault. That's my fault. I take that one. I take that one. That's on me. That's on me. But anyways, uh,
Starting point is 00:03:22 2024 NDACP image awards. and then what else she had a Coachella performance she also announced a world tour starting on June 12th in london covering europe north America, Africa, Asia, and ending in Australia. And some of the biggest things you should know is that this album addresses themes of personal empowerment and the patience with toxic relationships. No wonder she ain't have future on this album. Now I'm just playing. So anyways, yeah, this is basically it.
Starting point is 00:03:57 If you're looking for a great smoothing sound with Afro beats slash R&B slash Latin influences, then this album is definitely for you. Interestingly enough, this album includes mixes of influences as far as all the way from Kate Nash to 50 cents. So if you listen to the album, you'll probably hear some of that influence. And then, let me see. That's basically it. As far as the song, Wickedness is considered, a lot of her fans are saying that's one of their favorite tracks off of the album along with Burning because they said, what did they say about that? Oh, they really enjoyed how wicked is reflected her rise to fame and her assertiveness when it comes to showcasing her power in the music scene.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Because if you don't know, I mean, Rihanna, future, they've all been helped out tremendously from Tim's creativity. Like, one of the biggest things I would like to be if I was ever like a writer in the industry is to be behind the scenes writing the hits for the biggest artists. Like, I wouldn't mind being a party next door. Like people think that fame is everything until you see your famous person going through the same plights that you go through as an everyday civilian. You know what I mean? Because technically everybody's human. And when you get to a certain level of superstardom, your privacy gets taken away to a certain point where you're not treated as a human anymore.
Starting point is 00:05:32 And that could be triggering for some. Obviously, I'm not speaking from that standpoint because I just can't. I just can't. You know what I'm saying? I'm not as famous as those people. So I just want to put in perspective as how some celebrities just are expected to just be like, oh, everything's okay because I got money. And that's just far from the case.
Starting point is 00:05:53 So anyways, what else? That's basically it. At the end of the day, we'll see where these sales projections land. And I'm not saying it's going to be terrible, but I just objectively speaking, I don't know if Tim's is going to sell well with this album, which is okay, because just because you don't sell a lot doesn't mean that you don't put out quality. I mean, if that was the case, part of the next door would be selling the most out of any artist ever created. So, yeah, that's basically it. So as far as Tim's and her album, Born in the Wild, out now on all DSPs.
