Starting point is 00:00:00 Shepard promise me you'll tell them to subscribe for ad free content. About a year ago. Hold on now, is that Bobby Schmurder? Oh, my fault. That's not Bobby. Um, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Mm-mm-mm. Something that completely blew my mind. You gave the life of a showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history.
Starting point is 00:00:32 I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate what was. to celebrate with Max and Shelbach, my two collaborators on this album. Really? We just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in. But there was a studio there and we did what we do. When we feel anything at all, we wrote songs. You guys. I hope you love them because they were born out of pure great. gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made the life of a showgirl the encore including four new songs is out on Friday and available to pre-order and save now now now ladies and gentlemen after that very dramatic read safe to say the biggest gangster in the music industry is back
Starting point is 00:01:41 dope on me and no i'm not talking about drake obviously when it comes to taylor swift y'all may not know why i call her the biggest gangster in the music industry it is because she went up against the label and she actually won as if you don't remember the reason why taylor swift was putting out a lot of her old albums is because she re-recorded to retain the masters of her new recordings of her old albums because she found the loophole one that the industry did not like I just don't like it, man. They ain't like that one bit. I just don't like that shit, man.
Starting point is 00:02:16 One of the biggest things that a major label does as far as making revenue is being able to hold on to your master so that way when you make new music, they receive the monetary benefits of them listening to your new album fans being fickle, saying your old music is better and going back and listening and giving money to the corporation. So the main reason why Taylor Swift re-recording her albums was such a big deal is because she basically pulled a Frank Ocean and what I mean by that is finding a very interesting loophole
Starting point is 00:02:47 on how to get your masters back and capitalize off of the increasing popularity that you have just in general, not even in the music industry. Taylor Swift's one of the biggest icons just in general as far as entertainment. And the reason why I say that, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:03 that may be subjective, right? As far as people thinking of other icons, but what's not subjective is the numbers. you know, hence my name. There has been some very dreamlike analytics when they came to Taylor Swift. What type of analytics now I'm talking about? Well, ladies and gentlemen, life of a showgirl came out October 2025. It had 4.002 million first week sales.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Now, ladies and gentlemen, that wasn't even the biggest impressive feat. It had 3.48 million pure sales, which means physical copies, ladies and gentlemen. And the reason why that's such a big deal is because people are streaming that album to this day. You know, not to sound like Deonté Wilder, but to this day, people are still streaming Taylor Swift to the point where an album that sold four million out the gate as far as first week sales, the biggest ever, all time, never happened before, right? That particular album, a year later, more than a year later, is still the 25th, no, no, the 28th most play album in the world.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Taylor Swift's album, The Torture Poets Department, is still the 49th Most Played album in the world. And then, of course, I knew it, I knew you, the latest collab from Taylor Swift featuring, hold up now. I know that Disney Machine did not just
Starting point is 00:04:31 pair with the biggest musician in the world. You guys. But guess what? Her fans would, her fans basically said because they supported it anywhere, which they definitely should have. But it's currently the sixth most played track in the world peaked at number one.
Starting point is 00:04:50 It's been 15 weeks and it's still in the top six, ladies and gentlemen. So the reason why I read off those objective facts is to let you end on why people view Taylor Swift larger than life when it comes to the music industry. Because there's a certain someone. Is it okay? I got my dope on me. That's currently going back and forth with his label. Let's just say he did not take the Taylor Swift approach. But then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Like, what's going on? would say he took a way more a way more tumultuous is that the word a path pathway as far as going against his label because suing them definitely led to a lot of beef that he's still trying to rectify what i even rectified they're basically just beefing until they find a solution so taylor swift went a very interesting route as far as just re-recording her old music because basically you're probably thinking to yourself a lot of musicians why did they not think it is the other musicians didn't think to just record or re-record the old music so they'll have the masters for the foreseeable future. But ladies and gentlemen, they did and their fans didn't support it.
Starting point is 00:05:58 You know what I'm saying? It's that simple. It's not that easy to re-record your own music and have your fans enjoy that because they'll basically say, oh, the inflection is not the same. Oh, you can't replicate what you had in the past. But for Taylor Swift, I said for Taylor Swift, that white privilege, I mean, her fantastic way of re-recording her own music led people to support that album even more than her previous work. So anyways, all jokes aside, the reason why we're getting into Taylor Swift for this particular segment is because ladies and gentlemen, she did drop the encore for The Life of a Showgirl. If you don't know, it's four new tracks called Patient Zero,
Starting point is 00:06:40 Cleveland, which we're getting to in the second. uh pink clouding and babylon if you don't know the original life of a showgirl was released october 2025 spent 12 weeks at number one on billboard 200 a very monumental accomplishment biggest first week sales ever with four million out the gate and then of course she continued to have a notorious mass effect as she partnered with the well i said well yeah technically is a partnership with the one and only i know that ain't who i think it is i said with the one and only Travis Kelsey. As if you don't know, he's a pretty popular CTE ball player. You know what I'm saying? I mean, National Football League player. Yeah, he plays football. Yeah. So with that being said, he's on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Starting point is 00:07:28 And of course, they were at the Super Bowl, I believe. I don't know if it was a year they got together the year before. But basically, Taylor Swift, Travis Kelsey, it was a match made in heaven because, of course, Chiefs are having such a monumental success at the time. I mean, they're still solid now, but at the time, it was going to the Super Bowl, like, back to back. It was kind of crazy. So with their partnership, a lot of people was thinking, oh, Taylor Swift is just waiting him for the cloud. Oh, NFL is just showing Taylor for the cloud. I'm like, which one is it? Right?
Starting point is 00:07:57 So, and then you continue with a lot of people just thinking this is just here by the day gone tomorrow on some Kim Kardashian type B. You know what I'm saying? I mean, but I keep getting interrupted. But, you know, respectable woman type B. You know what I mean? She's just going to be there and leave after his fame is no longer there, right? But safe to say, even after some would say Travis Kelsey has had an obvious decline, not like significant. He's not like trash, but he's just not at his peak, right?
Starting point is 00:08:26 He may actually retire some, but, you know, I'm not a CTE ball watcher, so I don't really know too much about that. But when it comes to their relationship, it got even more serious to the point where her fans was like, is she actually taking this relationship serious? and guess what? Not only is she taking them for serious, not only did they get married, but they also are expecting. You guys.
Starting point is 00:08:49 You guys, that's pure love we're looking at. But did her fans enjoy that? Of course not. I just don't like it, man. They basically said, I just don't like that shit, man. Because, ladies and gentlemen, not only does she only have
Starting point is 00:09:04 an additional four tracks of Life of a Showgirl, but one of them, particularly titled Cleveland, and named after the hometown of Travis Kelsey's, yeah, named after Travis Kelsey's hometown, right? Travis Kelsey was born and raised in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. So when it comes to this love letter,
Starting point is 00:09:21 basically essentially what the track is, and talking about and emphasizing how Kelsey is the person she considers the love of her life, they just got married, they're expecting a kid, now you come to realize not only is she not doing it for the cloud, but she may actually be in love.
Starting point is 00:09:37 So guess what her fans? did completely trash the track I get you not if you want love as a popular musician if you want to be happy and make music about that happiness if you want to actually be positive in your music y'all get the point
Starting point is 00:09:55 I mean Travis Kelsey probably feels like Taylor Swift's going to break up with him at any moment because even me when I went to the timeline granted I haven't heard any of the four tracks when I went to the timeline and saw how people were just going crazy blowing this out of out of proportion to my opinion
Starting point is 00:10:11 as far as a particular track. Like if you don't like it, you don't like it, then move on, right? There's three other tracks. People stuck to the Cleveland track to the point where
Starting point is 00:10:18 I believe this particular Cleveland track will probably end up being the most popular track out of the four additional tracks. Because negativity definitely sells and everybody just building a negative mountain
Starting point is 00:10:31 as far as the particular context of this track. Because there's pacing zero they could have went to if they didn't like Cleveland. There's pink, loud than they could have went to if they didn't like Cleveland. There's Babylon they could have went to if they didn't like Cleveland.
Starting point is 00:10:43 But everybody stuck to Cleveland because when a musician finds happiness, their fan base ultimately turns on them. And then when they lose that happiness and make music about the process of losing that happiness and how they reflect on losing their happiness, the fans are ironically the happiest. because you look at the musical creation and you look at the process and it just sounds even better
Starting point is 00:11:12 when you know that person is actually going through heartbreak. Prime example, the one and only, Janae Aiko. I know that ain't who I think it is. Ladies and gentlemen, if you don't know Janai Ako just came out of an album called West Side Whimsie, a certain someone. By certain someone, I mean Big Sean.
Starting point is 00:11:29 He broke her heart, right? And she's talking about it all on the album. She's saying he's for the streets, she even put him in the chorus of the freestyle track she was basically like bigger than what you are I let you be bigger than you are his name's big right and the second half of the chorus is Sean I let you shine brighter right big Sean you get the point anyways that album is currently the number one most play album in the world I kid you not janea Ako's album Westside Whimsy currently is the number one most play album in the world selling 73,000
Starting point is 00:12:04 out the gate. Now, of course, it did just come out. So as far as the longevity at number one, that's still to be determined. But my main point is fans of musicians want you to create, not from a place of negativity. Like if you come out just cosign a certain like egregious acts, they won't care for that, right? But if you're heartbroken, that is the state of mind that your fans primarily with most musicians, they want their artists in, right? They don't want you to be happy. They don't want you to make music about positivity. They want you to be heartbroken to the point where if you're singing about
Starting point is 00:12:39 happily being married and expecting a kid with a Hall of Fame like football player, they're going to look at you and think you crazy. What you mean you're happy? What you mean you're trying to live the rest of your life with this one person? Girl, I want you to go through eight more boyfriends. I kid you not.
Starting point is 00:12:59 So anyways, the reason why I say all that is because Cleveland is just making all the rounds right now. A lot of people are not enjoying the track at all. And best believe I went through a lot of different reviews because I haven't listened to the track, any of the track specifically, but I have listened to Life of a Showgirl. I gave my favorites when I listened to it, or when I covered it way back when in 2025. Let me see. When did I cover this? So basically, as far as my coverage of the life of a Showgirl, the Life, I cover that, Life of a Showgirl. I covered that October 12, 2025. But Anyways, you know, it is nine months into 2026.
Starting point is 00:13:35 So, getting back with the times, now that I look back on my review, I basically have the same tracks that I enjoy. Like, my favorite tracks off of the album is Honey, and I like Elizabeth Taylor. Elizabeth Taylor is pretty top tier. And I think I like Wood. Paul's, hey, yo, that was, yeah, no, that's getting clipped up. Yeah, that's getting clipped up. No, that's on me.
Starting point is 00:14:01 I'm keeping that in there, too. Anyways, just disregard I said that. So Honey and Elizabeth Taylor and what else. That's basically it. I mean, as far as my favorite tracks, obviously I enjoy the whole album because I like this album. I don't know if I like it as much as the Torture Poets Department. Let me go to that album. I think I do like it more than that one.
Starting point is 00:14:23 So yeah, I like the life of a show girl. I think it's a pretty solid album. Some people will say it's not Taylor Swift's like Best Work. I think it's solid. I think she did what she had to do. She's in love. Her fan base hates it. And so now to critique in the music.
Starting point is 00:14:33 music and saying it's trash, right? So I've never seen perception like this for Taylor Swift. At first, I thought it was like a certain superstar just funding a hate campaign. And then I was like, nah, that's too crazy. Like, who would hate Taylor Swift? I mean, she's literally like the poster child of the artist going against the corporation. Once again, going back into my like re-recording conversation. So I think her fans just honestly don't like to see that she's actually happy and not just pull into Kim Kardashian, you know, attaching herself to a popular athlete, I think her actually being in love is upsetting because once they found out it was real that she's not going to have any more heartbreaks, then they kind of looked at the past and
Starting point is 00:15:12 it was like, dang, we're never going to get Pete Taylor Swift because she's happy. And ladies and gentlemen, that's a sad reality to be in. That is a sad planet to live on. You guys. See, that's the problem. So anyways, with that being said, ladies and gentlemen, the biggest artists in the world just put out four new tracks and people are only focusing on one. So that's why I wanted to let you know that there are four additional tracks. of the life of a show girl that she's titled in encore of course and the four tracks are patient zero Cleveland pink clouding and Babylon so with that being said click my link to my bio to let me know on one of my social oh no click my link to my bio to follow me on my social media's and if you're on
Starting point is 00:15:48 spotify comment down below why do you think people are focusing on Cleveland out of the other three tracks and of course what is your favorite track now that we've had some time to live with the life of a showgirl.
