Starting point is 00:00:00 Breaking news, America has appropriated once again because for some reason, somebody wants to take all the K-pop popular songs and just convert them to the favorite American musician. Now, I wonder where we've seen something from another walk of life. And by walk of life, I mean another country or just a whole other culture. And somebody sees something in that culture that they believe. could benefit them. And so they just take it for themselves. I wonder where we've seen that before. Anyways, so the weekend has another AI cover because the AI creator decided to completely
Starting point is 00:00:42 just take 5050s, which is a K-pop group's pop popular song titled Cupid and give it to the weekend for him to cover in this entirety. And when I did further research, because you know I have to figure out why certain songs are getting covered because if an AI creator is covering a song, it's for a reason. So I finally realized the reason or researched the reason. And the reason why they're doing this is because Cupid by 5050 is ranked as pop radio's most added song. I said that again. So Cupid by 5050 is ranked and supported as pop radio's most added song. I said that again. So Cupid by 5050 is ranked and supported as pop radio's most added song.
Starting point is 00:01:33 That means people love listening to this track so much that even other radios are like, hey, maybe I should have that on my playlist for when I play on the radio because they're not going to play a track that everybody's going to tune out and go to another station for. So let's just add a track that everybody loves because that's a safe bet to keep engagement. So with that being said, we now have Abel Tesfay, one of the most elegant voices that we've ever had in music. And I would say pause, but y'all know what I'm saying. So an AI creator had The Weekend, of course, cover this Cupid track by 5050, and let me just say,
Starting point is 00:02:22 it sounds wonderful. It's one of those type of tracks where if you don't have an AI songs playlist, then you're already behind in the game because I think my AI track playlist is probably leaps and bounds ahead of my actual Spotify playlist with the new music that's dropped this year. In general, AI has outperformed real music by a landslide. All of the new music, all of the new collabs, you never thought we would have heard in our lifetime. I mean, when you think of Drake and Notorious B-I-G,
Starting point is 00:03:06 when you think of Notorious B-I-G and J-Z, obviously they was alive and making music together, but now we're getting tracks that we never thought we were here in a modern age from Notorious B-I-G and some of the most prominent artists of today's age. So, and also with Kanye West, Everybody just went crazy with his vocals and just covered every popular song known to man. So I think that's really telling on how people view the most talented artists in the game.
Starting point is 00:03:44 So anyways, the weekend covered 2020's Cupid. And there's a reason for that as Cupid is the most added song to playlists right to pop stations. And I think it's going to come to a point where if whoever these creators are, If they're just going to keep appropriating other countries' music to have it sung or performed by the favorite American musicians, we're going to get into a scary territory. Because if you thought UMG was putting a hammer down a lot of these AI creators, then wait until what is the major label called big hit? Wait till big hit entertainment gets notice of what y'all are doing with their musicians. music under their license and putting it out on your own channels. Just think of what the K-pop major labels are going to do when they figure that out. So anyways, there's really not
Starting point is 00:04:44 too much to get into. I mean, just another case of American appropriation. So anyways, click my link to your bio. Let me know in one of my social medias. What do you think about the weekend covering 2020's Cupid track? And also, I do have the link in the bottom in my description. Hopefully at this point you've been listening long enough to know that it'll be in there. So will you be giving it a listen?
