Now, honestly, I do not know which artists can care or could care less about this specific collaboration.
Because I ain't going to lie to you.
The weekend out here promoting his Hurry Up Tomorrow film, Dochi, as far as the IG post is promoting denial.
Denial is a river and the mat gala.
The whole time, these two artists.
just put out a collaboration on DSPs, which is one of the weekend's most popular tracks currently,
which timeless is the 35th most played track in the world.
And then when it comes to the Doche, Denio is a river is the 60th most, 60th most played track in the world.
Both of these artists have, I mean, both of these tracks have been on their charts for quite some time.
Denio is a river, has been on the charts for 17 weeks.
And then when you come to the weekend and his best performing track,
timeless that's been on the charts for about 31 weeks so whenever you're doing a remix
for your most successful album on Billboard I think we would assume a lot more
promotion would be behind it as far as something more than just a tiny Instagram
story post like I just don't understand the marketing strategy for this particular
song are they basically saying it's gonna sell the self because after listening
into the track, you'll be absolutely correct to assume that it will sell itself because
Dochi is once again phenomenal. I think Dochi, when it comes to rap, is bringing back the sport
of actual meaning when it comes to putting words together that's been lost in hip hop for quite
some time. But then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like,
what's going on? So quality set to the side. I'm doing an ESPN type cover with this specific
track because quality is top tier so let's get that out of here dochi is phenomenal one of the best
rappers in the game i would challenge you to name five rappers better than dochi currently
so with that being said let's get into the other things the marketing aspect of this track
where is the care there's no care in the world from either of these artists is that instagram
story post is not even on the main instagram i didn't even check the other social media is because
the main thing i looked at i looked at uh youtube for the weekend and all i saw was
promotion for his film hurry up tomorrow which granted that probably took a bigger budget as far as
revenue i mean as far as um gambling on a certain film putting up the budget and actually wanting to
get your r o i you're probably going to market that way more than a random not random that's disrespectful
but a remix that is not going to basically bring in as much revenue as a film would right so it makes
sense why the weekend is focusing on the film but we can't get one post my brother like just i don't even
think the weekend posted a story i think it was dochi posting a story on her instagram right
and then the weekend reposted it so with that being said all jokes well i'm not even joking in all seriousness
this needs a better effort from these particular artists for this track i know timeless is the weekend's most
popular track so he's probably thinking i'm doing dochea favor but then
You come to think of it, there's not a lot of hip-hop artists with albums charting on Billboard.
Dochi currently has the 29th most played album in the world with Alligator Bites Never Heal.
And when it comes to that specific track, when it comes to that specific album,
Docey, when she put out Alligator Bice Never Heal, it was August 30th, 2024.
now granted it is 19 tracks long 47 minutes in length so well pause you got so with that being said
see that's the problem i think that with doche she has the star power in today's age to command
more of uh marketing rollout when she's now attached to one of the already more popular tracks
in rm b and hip-hop period but not armbia hip-hop period because uh scyza is currently going
crazy with the second most play album and then kensrick has the third so not rn b and hip-hop but um
The second, the second most impactful R&B and hip hop collab of the year.
So you would think there would just be more marketing behind this.
Like I just don't understand the GTA rock star type of strategy where it's like,
oh, it's going to sell itself, throw a little story up and people are going to listen to it.
Because granted, I'm going to listen to it, but I listen to a lot of different genres and music.
And of course, when it comes to hip hop, I'm more focused on that.
So I knew this was coming out for quite some time.
So when it came out, listen to the track.
Obviously, phenomenal bars from Dochi.
I mean, just showcased how the difference in approaching hip hop as far as the word aspect and putting it together when you look at Dochi's verse.
And then you look at Playboy Cardi's verse.
You know, not to be disrespectful.
But one is rapping.
The other is making a lot of sounds.
So with that being said, Dochi being on this timeless remix is obviously phenomenal for hip hop.
I think that this is going to help out the track.
I know people think Dochi is not as popular because she's an industry plant or whatever crazy theories or conspiracies people be throwing out there.
But she is one of the more prominent hip hop artists in the game right now.
As far as the rankings is probably, or not probably, objectively speaking, going off billboard.
It's Kendrick being the flagship of hip hop as far as commercial sales.
it's Drake
it's play big cardi
and then
you gotta go down a little bit
then there's big X to plug
with his album Take Care
which is the 23rd most played
album in the world
which I believe I cover that album
I cover that
I definitely remember covering the album
because
let me see
Big X
I guess I didn't cover the album
because I was basically talking about
how the album
title oh yeah okay i remember that yeah i'm not covering that um because of the album title i ain't
a lot to you like some respect needs to be put on certain album titles and hip hop i'm not
it's like somebody coming on the bulls and wearing 23 like hold on hold oh hold up now hold hold up
but then you know what i'm saying i was like 10 look at the state of hip hop if you're if you're a hip hop
artist you should never ever title your album take care you should never title your album graduation
you should never title your album
Blueprint
Unless you're Nicki Minaj
Because that's the pink print
You know what I'm saying?
She's the goat
But then you know what I'm saying?
You know what I'm saying?
So with that being said
Take Care is why I didn't cover it
I'm not covering any hip hop album title
Take Care as beyond disrespectful
So anyways
Yeah with Doche
She's fourth
So well fifth
So there's Kendrick
Drake, Playbricardi
Big X to plug
Dochi
That's the hierarchy
objectively speaking
on Billboard. Now, when it comes to singles, that's a whole different scenario because, of course,
Playbred Carting is hanging on by Dear Life and of course it's only because of the weekend.
Only tracks from Playboy Cardi's album that, granted, it's still doing well in totality, but as far as
the singles off of the album, the only one still charting is the ones with the weekend.
And getting into all of this analytical data, I always have to reiterate my sentiments throughout
this podcast just because I get into Billboard sales.
and showcasing the consumption and the comparison between these superstars in the industry because
if you make this list at all you're a superstar well not superstar but you're you're all-star and
if it stays on the charts for about 10 plus weeks you're definitely a superstar in this particular year so
with that being said hip pot oh no uh quality and consumption does not correlate you can make high
quality and then i sell a lot you can make complete trash and it sell the most in the world that is it's
not it doesn't correlate so when i'm going over sales basically to gauge the consumption and
the anticipation and the engagement from each artist's respective fan base so anyways um the
weekend he's been holding play big cardi on the charts by dear life right so now dochey
attaching her name to this track so now it has the weekend play bickardi and doche it should
definitely help out as far as uh play bickardi having yet another track even though it is a remit
it will have yet another track on the charts because this is definitely going to chart there's no doubt about it
and there's no doubt in my mind that this specific track will chart so when it comes to that another thing
I was going to get at was the music video is there going to be a music video with the weekend and dochey
I assume not because they're putting little to no effort and the timeless remix one could say give it some time
the actual film that is going to come out at some point because
The budget is over 20 million, right?
And it's described as a mix of raging bull and purple rain.
I don't know what that means.
I don't watch films like that, but that's what they said.
And they said it releases worldwide May 16th, 2025 to the point where the entire movie has a runtime of an hour and 45 minutes.
And early fan screenings are set for May 14th.
So to be fair, after that, the weekend may come back out and be like, hey, let's do a music video.
Let's promote this the right way.
But currently, there's not being enough respect put on one of the more popular artists in R&B and one of the more popular artists in hip hop putting out a collab for a remix for a track that's already one of the more popular tracks in the world.
I think the combination deserves a little bit more respect.
But maybe I'm just, you know, maybe I'm just blowing it out of proportion.
So with that being said, when it comes to Dochi, I would assume she's not doing anything anytime soon when it comes to.
making a, well, putting out a project.
She's probably always making music, especially being under TDE.
But as far as the putting out process, I think she's probably going to go on tour
because I know after hours till dawn tour is happening summer 2025 for the weekend.
And that's kicking off May 9th in Glensdale, Arizona.
And in the end, September 3rd in San Antonio, Texas.
So definitely check that out if he was wanting to catch the weekend live.
he's going to be touring from May 9th to September 3rd when it comes to Dochi.
I actually don't know what she's doing as far as tour.
Let me see.
Did she, uh, she hasn't announced a tour or anything.
Uh, so maybe that's the next steps.
Maybe after this remake, she's going to announce a tour.
I don't think she's currently on tour.
Um, the weekend was at Roland Loud where he also brought out Playboy
Ricardie once again to perform, uh, play McCarty's only tracks on the chart.
Sorry, I had to say it again, you know what I'm saying?
Because Playboy fans, they'd be, they'd be on me about my takes on Playboy.
So, uh, anyways.
Um, with that being said, I don't think Dochey's going on tour any, well, I actually don't know what Doche should do.
Like actually, she's had so much success.
It's like to follow that up with another album, another single would just be, uh, comparing it to the last album that literally was the third hip hop album from a female rapper to win best rap album.
Like, uh, Lauren Hill, Cardi B, Dochey.
Those are the only female hip hop rappers to ever win best rap albums.
So it's definitely going to be a lot of interesting follow-up, if any type of follow-up.
Because, of course, with Lauren Hill and Cardi B, we saw what happened with that one.
They gave us one album and they disappeared.
It was like, we can't find them.
Like, the last Avatar, yeah, as far as the Avatar series, when the world needed her most, they disappeared.
They put out the best album and they say, you know what?
I feel like retiring.
So that being said.
Dochi, The Weekend, Timeless Remix, is out.
now is beyond phenomenal which is why i didn't focus on that because it's it's something you need
to experience for yourself doche's lyrical exercise over the timeless beat is something that hip hop
needs to get or needs to have more of and i'm glad that doche is one of those premier artists
to give us uh expert word smith so that being said click my link sure in my bio let me know one of my
social medias what do you think about doche and the weekend's timeless remix and at the end of the day
why do you think there's not a lot of marketing put behind this remix of timeless with dochi
