Starting point is 00:00:00 I had to use both of my hands to count up the number of years Daystar Peterson received. Now, if you're not familiar, Daystar Peterson, aka Toy Lane's, while being sentenced, the number 10 popped up. And boy, I was just thinking, that's nice of the late great Kobe Bryant to come back from the dead to help out Team USA because the Lord knows that they needed. But then, thought to myself. once once more. And I figured they just looked at Torrey Lane's height, put it together, added an extra
Starting point is 00:00:41 two, and just called it a day. Because ladies and gentlemen, Troy Lane's was sentenced to 10 years in prison with shooting Megan the Stalion in the foot in July 2020. I had to do some due diligence myself as a self-proclaimed journalist. Definitely not journalist, but self-proclaimed content creator, had to look it up myself as I was thinking this was beyond excessive. But after reading over some of the articles doing some research, shooting or in a In Lamest turns, discharging a firearm can have you sentenced up to 10 years in prison. And Tori Lane's got all 10 of them with the prosecutors wanting to make it 13.
Starting point is 00:01:53 So they wanted to make it 13. But then they compromise, quote unquote, with 10, adding that after he serves his 10 years, he will be sentenced to five years of supervised release after he completes his prison sentence. The biggest question that keeps popping up for Megan the Stallion and Toy Lane's fans is whether this is excessive or fair. Some people believe that 10 years is a fair punishment. Some people believe 10 years is not harsh enough. And some people believe that 10 years was letting him off light. So apparently you couldn't win with this conviction.
Starting point is 00:02:58 But the safe route, I believe, is to go in the direction of giving him the maximum amount of years you can receive discharging a firearm and the hidden hills of L.A. So with that being said, giving my own personal opinion, I do believe that everybody's fascination of the case was because they felt like a misogynistic message was being pushed. Me personally, with the podcast, especially while I covered this case, I was even targeted while a lot of their comments talking about, oh, you hate women. Oh, oh, um, you just hate black. black women like literally it was just that like that's all it was because those type of comments wasn't like affecting because they didn't hold any credence because my whole point was that Megan the Stallion's best friend was the one that was contradictory what was contradictory towards Megan it wasn't Torrey versus Megan it was Megan versus her best friend
Starting point is 00:04:18 best believe out of those four people in the car when they incident have happened Megan's driver Megan's best friend Megan herself you would have not obviously throughout the trial you let me know when the driver showed up very peculiar I might add but in general let's just stay on her best friend so Kelsey got on the stand completely said everything that Megan the Stallion was saying was false So I was looking at Megan versus her best friend. If her best friend would have got on the stand and said, oh, Tori definitely shot it. And guess what?
Starting point is 00:05:01 Tori would have been sentenced long ago. It wouldn't have taken this long. You know, I only took this long July 12, 2020 to August 8th, 2023 because of Megan the Stallion's best friend. I love how Kelsey is just left out of this whole equation coincidentally so we can paint this whole case as black women versus black men when really it's just an unfortunate situation that's that has a lot more gray area that a lot of people are willing to admit so at the end of the day i'm still holding firm to my belief that troy lanes did not shoot magin the stallion i do believe that her best friend was involved in some sort of way
Starting point is 00:05:53 in the altercation and whatever happened we'll never know throughout the whole trial getting information from multiple sources they all was saying this is just a clown show and they don't know how this is going to end up being but if you look at the actual charges it's not did tory shoot megan it's did tory discharge a firearm
Starting point is 00:06:16 which is two completely different things if people want to act like it's not then it definitely is but with Troy Lance discharging a firearm, whereas the witness came, it was like some old man witness that Tori and his team brought on to the stand. What was they thinking with that one? But I have no idea.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Maybe they just thought that he was going to stop at the whole altercation with Megan and her best friend. Because Megan claimed that never happened, like her best friend, her and her best friend, which is on the best of terms. So I don't want to just recap the case too much and a recap the case too much. but other things I wanted to get into was that Torrey Lane's lawyer, Sean Hawley, plans to appeal the verdict, of course. I mean, what else they have to do?
Starting point is 00:07:07 Megan the Stallion also gave an emotional statement in court before Toray Lane sentencing saying that she still has a bullet fragments in her feet. 2020 to 2023. Three years later, Megan Estallion says she has bullet fragments. still in her feet. It has constant pain since the shooting.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Interesting. I had to check my watch. I mean, a lot of music videos came out with Megan the Stalien, but that's besides a point. So, the shooting occurred in July 12th, 2020, of course, and Torrey Lane's denied the shooting. He was
Starting point is 00:07:55 arrested, and now we finally have an official verdict with him being, not a verdict, official sentencing. so it took three years for him to get sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan the Stallion and during those three years he was like a free man like he was out here wilding like don't think um caping for toy lane's it's just the whole situation seems fuzzy but tori lanes himself is definitely no sane even while he was out in the free world somehow before the
Starting point is 00:08:22 sentence since i can't talk before the sentencing he was out here being the wildest short man you've ever seen in your life imagine the wildest five three man you could ever imagine right and that would be tory lanes because in the midst of him fighting this whole trial of shooting a whole woman this man decided to punch a grown man in the face January 2020 was it 2023 just weeks before his trial for shooting megan the stallion I don't think the date is right but he definitely punched um oh this is another one was this a photographer Michael Miller claimed that Torrey Lanes punched him after he asked for a photograph He said he wasn't injured but found a police report and Lanes was arrested and that's crazy
Starting point is 00:09:15 I don't think I don't think that's released I don't know if that's released to public anyways But I said it I just said it so hey there you have it they also before the trial Tori Lanes punched August Alcina I don't know if I could find that yeah October 22 that's what I was wondering because I knew he definitely had an incident last year. So he ended up punching, I guess I see, you know, way before the case even happened. I'm like, this man is wild. Like, he's just, he's just on one, ain't he?
Starting point is 00:09:47 Like, I knew Torrey Lanes was a different breed when he walked into Jack Quees' trailer, Jack Quees Webster, aka Travis Scott. He walked into that man's trailer after he performed to settle some type of argument by saying, And I quote this verbatim. Are we catching the fade or are we apologizing? Now, I don't know what in what type of world do you think that's actually helping the situation or giving some type of alternative.
Starting point is 00:10:28 But if you ask a grown man, are we squabbling or are we apologizing? That is just the craziest thing I've ever heard in my life. Like that type of ultimatum needs to be a, hey, I ain't going to say it, but maybe some of these years in prison he could take some time to reflect on himself, all these crazy violent acts and realize that, you know, maybe he shouldn't act the way he does in public, you know? But hey, he has a lot of time to think about it. I would sympathize with Tori Lane's by the end of the day. He did put himself into this situation no matter what you think about the situation. He still put himself into it.
Starting point is 00:11:06 I don't believe it went down how Megan the Stallion said it, but also I don't think it completely went down the way the Tory Lane said it or the one that everybody conveniently leaves out because of this whole black women versus black man movement or the hate black women movement or the misogynistic movement. Everybody loves to leave out the fact that if it wasn't for Megan the Stallion's best friend Kelsey, this wouldn't even been wouldn't have even been a trial. So with that being said, let's transition to the late, I keep saying late, let's transition to the great, iconic, amazing Dave Chappelle. As he once said, what would Jarl Rule think in a time like this? And boy, do I have some Jarl rules up to bat as first, shameless plug, analytic dreams video to watch this along with me. but number one or or our first jar rule up to bat is none other than um i'm gonna let you see it on the screen so you definitely have to go to analytic dreams video but of course about the audio you'd definitely be able to tell who this is um as soon as i play it but anyways first jar rule up to the stand and let's see what she thinks about this huge superstar and this week should have been a
Starting point is 00:12:32 Happy-ass week. Happy-ass week. Mind you, she don't have a mom. She don't have a dad. She don't got nobody to cry to. This should be the happiest week. And instead, people are fucking harassing her and calling her a liar. Why would somebody lie about getting shot?
Starting point is 00:12:48 Why? Why? You think a helicopter would be coming out at 1 a.m., whatever the fuck time it was in L.A.? First of all, in L.A., nays ain't fucking coming out if they just arguing. car they will come out if they hear some gunshots within a helicopter will come out that shit is sad bro they harassed her into she fucking had to speak huge superstar all righty so that's the
Starting point is 00:13:17 first john rule now let's bring to the stand uh number two so our second john rule of the day let's see what he has to think in a time like this i think he came out good bro i don't know how California work. I thank you. He only do five. That's state time. He only shit, bro. Louisiana, that nigga would have did fought it, nigga. A crime on a woman, highly televised. Faulting nigga. No cap, nigga. That nigga would have got fought in, nigga. No cap. I got 10 for third offense marijuana, nigga. Straight to Angola, nigga. Straight. goaler, nigga. 40. I just wanted to do the ad-lives. I don't know why, but Boosie gets you hype.
Starting point is 00:14:20 I don't know what it is about Boosie. Can't say the other word because, you know, of course, it's a PG podcast, but as you can see, he reacted to the whole Toy Lane situation. And so, yeah, first Jarl rule, second number, we had our first and second Jarl rule, come to the stand, give the opinion on it. And I feel like in general, it was very interesting because now a book has full. finally, well, maybe a chapter or a book, I would say a chapter maybe, has finally come to its conclusion in the fact of, well, and the fact is, I don't know, Tori Lane's has officially been sentenced with 10 years in prison. And after he's finished with those 10 years, he has to serve an additional five years of supervised release after he completes his prison sentence so click my link to my bio let me know in one of my social media is what do you think about
Starting point is 00:15:22 my whole coverage of the tory lanes versus megan the stallion case um whose side was you on and in general what is the biggest lesson that you garnered out of this whole debacle
