Analytic Dreamz: Notorious Mass Effect - "TRAVIS SCOTT & YOUNG THUG - SKITZO"
Episode Date: July 28, 2023Linktree: https://linktr.ee/AnalyticIn this segment, we discuss the track "SKITZO" by Travis Scott. The song is a shortened version of the mental disorder schizophrenia, which impacts one'...s ability to think, feel, and behave clearly. The beat switches are symbolically in line with a skewed sense of thought, as they're random and drastically apart from each other. The schizophrenic-like soundscape is further reinforced by Travis' frequent changes in his flow, and jarring lyrics that even mention Kanye West's 2024 United States presidential campaign. We explore the meaning of the song's title, the different ways in which schizophrenia is represented in the track, and the impact that the song has on listeners. We also discuss the potential for the song to be triggering for people with schizophrenia or other mental health conditions.Listen to this segment to learn more about the track "SKITZO" by Travis Scott and its potential impact on listeners.Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Now, I knew there was a reason why this track is my favorite.
As far as first impressions go, this track is my favorite off of Utopia.
Now, of course, I'm going to reiterate that this is first impressions, which, you know, my favorite track is subject to change.
But currently, first listen wise, Schitzel is my favorite track off of the album.
Track 14
Featuring the one and only
King Slime,
aka Young Thug.
Produced by
The iconic
and this is why I feel like
I really enjoyed the track.
Produced by Boy Wanda.
If you all don't know
what type of hits
Boy Wanda has given us
over the years,
I put it up there
with the likes of Metro Boomin
and who else
and Take Heath.
Like I feel like
when Boy Wanda is producing a beat
it's going to sound like phenomenal
and it's just going to be
not leaps and bounds but it's going to be
significantly better than his peers
and whatever
beat they can cook up
so when boy wonder makes a beat
everybody listens
so from start to finish I feel like
this is my favorite track
from Travis Scott and what he's saying
to young thug and what he's saying
I mean literally they stopped
giving out young thug
versus simply because he's locked up
and they can use the lyrics against them, right?
And so it's very interesting
when, you know, young thug comes on the track
and it's very interesting, well, I already said that,
but it's apparent that this man
obviously is not straying away
from the fact that he's about that action.
As he says,
Rose Royce, big old truck I'm in it,
bouncing around like he wants smoke
on a chimney,
And he keeps on going because it's only one line, right?
Because in general, he can't rap about that type of stuff because they're using his lyrics in court.
But when he says, bounce around like you want to smoke on my chimney, I'm like, I feel like that's when the FBI will tell you to open up and they will come through the door to lock you up.
But the thing is, they already have young thug locked up.
So now we just have that lyric to enhance the fact.
that this man is not a law-abiding citizen.
I know a lot of people love to say free on thug,
which, you know, I'm not opposed to that.
But all I'm going to say is, you know,
there's a reason why the FBI was knocking on the door
and basically telling them to open up.
You know what I mean?
Like, I don't think they was really playing around with them.
You know, they really came through
and they just tried to lock that man up, you know?
It's crazy.
It's crazy stuff that the FBI goes through nowadays.
You know what I mean?
They just try to.
that they're trying to do what's right in the eyes of the law you know but anyways that's what's the
point so uh young thug gives a pretty solid verse travis scy's probably to stand out amongst
this entire track really given and captivating bars over a beat produced by boy wonder i think that's just
really a match made in heaven as i don't know how many tracks Travis guy and boy wonder has
together or have together but this one right here makes me want even more tracks from the two
