Now, I'm not saying that Trippy Red is falling off.
I'm simply stating facts that after me stating the facts, you can do what you will with this information.
So this man went from his peak first week sales with his album title,
Exclamation Point in 2019, having a number one to putting out another album titled,
titled A Love Letter to You, uh, three in the same year, 2019, and pulling 100,000 first week.
That's impressive in itself.
130,000, 35,000 to go to 100,000 first week sales in the same year.
It's pretty insane as far as the hold and retention from your audience.
But then that's where everything changed.
2020, this man put out Pegasus and he sold around 100,000 first week and ended up
receiving the number two.
So he's only had a number one for Life's a Trip in 2018 and the exclamation point album in 2019.
So a love letter to U3 in 2019 was 100,000 first week sales.
Pegasus in 2020 was 99,000, basically 100,000 first week sales.
But then this is where it gets interested.
2021, Trip at Night by Trippy Red sold 88,000 first week.
sales 2023 mansion music by trippy red sold a whopping 56,000 first week sales almost the lowest
since his debut and you know debuts are supposed to be low like when nats put out elmatic that
didn't have a lot first week and also you had to go out to the store and buy actual discs back
there like you actually you had to actually go out and purchase CDs not just you know put it on your
your playlist on your phone. So for this, it's very interesting how his debut in 2017, which was
49,000 in 2017, I don't know if I just said that, it's still similar to what he just recently did
with in 2023 matching music album with 56,000 first week sales. Now, am I here to say that
trippy red fell off? I'm honestly not sure. The amount of feet.
features he had on mansion music is not similar to what Travis Scott did for Utopia,
but this man basically got any and everybody who was somebody as a notable rapper on mansion
music and still sold 56,000 first week. I'm not saying that he's falling off. The numbers just
show that he's not at the heights that we would have assumed he was at because of the features
that he's able to get whenever he wants.
Because we all know, talent-wise and quality-wise,
well, I don't know.
I'll speak for me personally.
Trippy Red to me is a very phenomenal artist
and makes great music.
And I enjoy every album that he's put out.
I mean, going through the list,
I don't think there's one album that I've just like.
Obviously, there's skips on every album that Trippy Red puts out,
but there's always a select few songs that I can put on my playlist
and I can just play that over and over and over.
Like Trippy Red has a song with Little Baby, I believe,
and a song with Travis Scott off of his latest album,
Mansion Music.
And even calling that Mansion music is very interesting
because I do believe that he made this to just push a sound forward,
kind of like how utopia did i think that's what trippy was attempting to do so anyways uh he had
future on this album twice twice little baby on this album twice juice world he had little dirk on this
album and then see that's what i'm saying like travis guy had the whole industry on this album and for him to
sell 56 000 is very interesting um because you would think he would be more popular a
amongst the hip-hop industry in general.
But anyways, the reason I'm bringing all that up
is because Trippy Red has a new single out
titled Left for Dead and let me tell you,
it is straight fire.
That's why I started with sales because quality
is not the issue for Tripy Red.
Personally, I believe it's sales and him just trying
to get more eyes and ears to give him a chance
because I don't know what it is,
but it seems like he's on a down,
a downward spiral.
And soon, I know
Mansion Music was filled with a lot of features,
but it's going to get to a point where
artists may start acting a little fickle
because they see,
they've seen the Mansion music first week sale.
I know a lot of artists love to say,
oh, first week sales don't mean anything,
but then they'll be the first ones to tell you
when they get a number one for the album.
So obviously you have to take it with a grain of salt.
It's kind of like when
you put out a track somebody says it's bad and they like oh well you know there's always another
track like one track's bad doesn't mean anything like it actually does you know it's at some point
if you start having the track record and follow it up with something else that's a flop
then people are going to look at you a certain type of way so basically i say that to say that
trippy breads uh latest single title left or dead is out now on all ds is straight fire personally
I listened to it.
It was, I mean, basically what I want from Trippy Red.
And for others, I believe that this is a testament to show if he's really fell off or maybe people just might have skipped out on the last album he put out in Mansion Music.
So click my link to your bio.
Let me know in one of my social media is.
What do you think about Trippy Red's your status in the hip-hop game currently?
And also, if you've listened to the left for dead single, do you think it's fire or trash?
