Starting point is 00:00:03 Now, ladies and gentlemen, Usher Raymond is one of those where he's a one in a lifetime type of talent. Now, when it comes to singing, dancing, I mean, he could probably even rap if he wanted to. Acting, if you've seen him in Little Dickie's Dave show. I know, pause, but hey, that's the name, right? So anyways, Usher Raymond is set to Grace the Super Bowl halftime stage. And of course, it's much anticipated. I mean, he is 45 years old about to break down. on stage in front of millions of people better than some of the young R&B acts can.
Starting point is 00:00:41 But there's not a comparison. You know, they always say comparisons to The Thief of Joy. Sure, let's just stick to straight predictions. This segment is strictly talking about his performance as technically, I don't know how he did it, maybe because he's the king of R&B. It's two minutes longer than the original 13 minute allowed. Like the 13 minutes that's allowed during your Super Bowl performance, Usher was able to negotiate two minutes.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Now, I don't know what he's going to do in the extra two minutes, but, hey, he negotiated for an extra two minutes and he got it. So anyways, the set obviously would take place during this halftime of the 49ers in Kansas City game, I mean, the one that's going on right now. As you already know, one of the biggest things about the Super Bowl is marketing and promotion. So why not promote your product during the Super Bowl? So that's what we're about to do here. As Usher has a lot of things to promote.
Starting point is 00:01:38 And one of the biggest things that people are looking forward to is his track, yeah, which if you don't know, is the currently most search Usher song because I do call myself analytic dreams. And I don't just call myself that for no reason, right? We got to get into these analytic dreamlike numbers because at the end of the day, When yeah is your most search song followed by good good lovers and friends, you can already surmise that those particular tracks are going to be performed during the Super Bowl performance.
Starting point is 00:02:16 So because of the higher significant streaming bump, you could see that Usher would probably be putting that in his set list. Now, of course, we don't exactly know the set list, but Usher did tease certain tracks during his promotion through Apple music on IG which I'm playing right now analytic dreams video for the video version well analytic dreams video on Spotify for the video along with the audio but basically he kind of already told us that he's going to be performing yeah because like come on now like I imagine that's like us you're not performing confessions like yeah and confessions better be in the set list right so anyways those songs are going to be in the set list he also has a new album out i forget what it's called i think it's
Starting point is 00:03:05 called coming home because he's been promoting that but we're like let's get to the slaps like forget the new music that came out let's get to your like super bowl is not for new musicians it's for legacy acts that's been cemented as far as being one of the best musicians in their lifetime so your new music may be fire we're not trying to hear that right now we're trying to hear the bona fides slaps that have been sticking for decades that y'all have probably been made to but you know let you think about that at another point another time so anyways guest appearances um includes surprise guess but it didn't give me a name so i don't know what what happened with that i think alicia keys i might be misspeaking but i think alicia key is supposed to be a guest appearance but that's just me
Starting point is 00:03:52 out the top of my head it's not in my notes but hey teach his own so obviously those are my predictions as far as what he's going to be performing. And I do think he may start off his performance with, yeah, bringing out Little John and Ludacris. But my thing is, if you're usher, 15 minutes is not a long time. If you don't know, his Las Vegas residency is world renowned for being one of the best performances you could see in the past two to three years. because I think he started that during the pandemic.
Starting point is 00:04:32 So yeah, like the past four years. So Usher should probably focus on showcasing why he is one of the best performers of all time. Literally, you could put Usher up there with the likes of Michael Jackson when it comes to the performance aspect of music. Obviously, music-wise, you would take Michael Jackson. Obviously, vocally wise, you would probably take Michael Jackson. but we're talking about strictly performing music because i don't know if y'all know but hip hop artists are some of the worst performers to ever grace the stage because it's like rapping over your track is not performing i don't know who needs to hear that but rapping over already laid
Starting point is 00:05:16 verses you're not even taking the verses out to perform like you're just rapping over already laid vocals it just sounds horrendous and they just walk around stage letting you it's basically like karaoke i mean imagine paying for 400 just to sing the song for him or rap the song for him so anyways usher's gonna show these artists how to actually perform whereas dancing breath control because some people might be wondering well what makes a good performance right dancing breath control crowd engagement at a super bowl arena is going to be kind of hard that's why usher was in a Las Vegas residency for the longest because you know it's easier to connect to the crowd when they're right there but Of course, for Super Bowl, have time.
Starting point is 00:06:00 He's probably going to have more of a grandiose set. A lot of fire is probably going to be going off lights. Backup dancers, of course. Not too many, though, because Usher can dance. Usually backup dances are for the hip-hop artists who can't perform at all to make it a little bit more intriguing as far as watching it. But for Usher, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just him straight dancing the whole time, running around.
Starting point is 00:06:24 I mean, 15 minutes is not a long time. But Usher, the way he's going to perform. I think my prediction is he's gonna dance from start to finish with maybe breaks in between but probably not he's probably going to showcase why he is considered one of the best performers of all time so anyways um that's basically it as far as the numbers i think it would do i don't think it would do as well as when riana grace the stage or no that's really it because i think literally people i think there was a stat that people watched more for that uh concurrently for that riana halftime show than the whole super bowl i'm not saying it won't happen with usher but i i highly doubt it because riana it's just one of one i'm not going to lie so no disrespect to usher but it's just a i mean she was let me chill so anyways at the end of day let's get into the biggest thing i think usher needs to do
Starting point is 00:07:21 for this to be a successful performance. Showcase that he's the best performer of all time by dancing throughout the whole set, showing breath control. Because if you don't know, obviously if you do something as far as dancing, you're going to get tired. He's going to be singing, dancing,
Starting point is 00:07:37 which I don't think people realize how hard that is. It's almost like running and trying to sing. Like if you run for a certain amount of time and they keep trying to sing, that's how Usher is as far as mastery and not making it seem like he's running. Like he'll sing like he's not. running but you try running and singing and see how that comes out so anyways um i think that's the
Starting point is 00:07:57 biggest thing he could showcase because the last performances it was more of a set design type of way to encapsivate the audience whether it's the weekend going around and a in a lit up hallway or maize whatever whatever is uh dr dr dr dr day were having 50 cent hang upside down you realize that these hip hop artists or just let me let me stop uh generalizing with hip hop artists in general who can't perform usually it's a set design and the lights that try to take away from the fact they're just walking around and playing karaoke riana we're going to give her um the benefit of the doubt because not the benefit we're going to give her more leeway because she was pregnant right vocally it was amazing which a lot of people say oh she she probably don't have it vocally but she was amazing
Starting point is 00:08:43 vocally but performance wise it wasn't up there because obviously she was pregnant so we're going to let her slide with that one but with usher he's not pregnant so he should be dancing all over the place continuously for the whole 15 minutes, maybe them two extra minutes can be used for break time. But that's it. So at the end of the day, that's my whole review or just my preview before the show on what I think should happen for it to be one of the greatest performances of all time as far as hip-hop,
Starting point is 00:09:13 or not hip-hop, as far as Super Bowl related. So anyways, click my link to my bio. Let me know one of my social medias. What do you think about the Super Bowl? halftime performances and also what is your personal favorite super bowl half time performance of all time
