Starting point is 00:00:00 So when we're getting into Cholo by Victor Mandevo, if you don't know, it just came out on his entire body of work to Tuchampabon that just came out as far as July 24th of this year. But ultimately, when we're looking at the track Cholo, that is currently, objectively speaking, the third most popular track from the album in Mexico. So you have plaque that's the first most played track as far as, well, it's the best performing track off of the album Tutankhamon, but in Mexico specifically, it is the 17th most played track in Mexico, Tungamon, which is the self-titled track off of the album. That is the 23rd
Starting point is 00:00:38 most played track in Mexico. And then now we have what we're specifically diving into for this segment, which is Cholo, that is at the 29th slot as far as the most played in Mexico. And if you didn't know, the track Cholo really ultimately refers to a cultural identity associated with certain Mexican, American or Latin urban communities linked to like street culture, pride and struggles, meaning that the overall context is typical as far as in the themes of Victor Mandevo's music. Because if you don't know, a lot of things that he furthers as far as the Latin community, he's ultimately one of the top performing artists in the Latin community.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Obviously, the top performers, like Bad Bunny, Nathan Vega. Paisal Pluma, things that nature of Fred's or Regina, can't forget about him. But when it comes to Victor Mandevo, under Oscar Madoan's label, because if you don't know, Oscar Madoan, that's his artist, Victor Mendeval. I think he is a mascot for Oscar's label to the point where now if you're pushing the genre forward, you have to be saying something to keep people engaged and coming back for more. Because if you're not saying anything, if everything that's coming out of your mouth at surface level, you can't be surprised when people just up and leave right so giving them quality in turn for their time
Starting point is 00:02:03 is basically showcasing a high respect for the art right because now when you look at Tancamon when you look at this overall depth of meanings even going off of the album title that I've already talked about but I'll reiterate for people who only click on these specific segments as far as the tracks Tutt means image or living image. Inc means life or living in Amun refers to an Egyptian god Amun, a major deity worshipped in ancient Egypt. So now going off of that and then you realize that Cholo is more of the cultural identity and the Mexican, American, Latin urban communities, you come to realize that not only is he tap into his roots and how he grew up, but he's also furthering the culture because now more people
Starting point is 00:02:49 who aren't even in that culture get to listen to it like myself and get to understand what they really went through and what type of um struggles they deal with on a daily basis because then you kind of get to realize especially my breakdown of just because if i don't understand them from a language perspective because i speak english of course then i go to genius translated read it and ultimately going across all genres listening to a lot of different genres you kind of realize that were more alike than we would like to admit, right? So I think that even though this may not crack the global charts, it's still a great cultural project for people specifically in Mexico and at some point him putting up numbers like this as far as having 10 tracks charting in Mexico
Starting point is 00:03:36 specifically at some point and may cross over globally. So that being said, just wanted to touch on the track Cholo specifically. And now for the other track, for the other track, for the other yeah for the final track no for the it's not the final track but two of the other tracks was one again to was king of watches and goet which you would think it's the goat but it's not it's with a g-o-et so anyways let's get into those tracks right now
