Diving back into the K-pop lane, safe to say, ladies and gentlemen, we may have a...
It's time for a rap battle!
But it's time for a K-pop battle, as another competitor has entered the landscape of notoriously affecting the masses.
And who is that, you may ask?
Well, hopefully, I'm not butchering their name.
I believe it's W-E-I, which is a six-member K-pop boy band under O-U-I-Nurtain.
Now when it comes to the releases they just released a whole album Wonderland this past Wednesday
But one of the tracks in particular is going crazy as far as the mass effect and people garnering
Or people flocking to this specific track which is titled home which interestingly enough is the first track off of Wonderland
So when you look at the album post release is doing well as far as
even the album pre-orders but as far as spotify streams it had five million streams day one on
spotify specifically so we don't even know the other platforms but when you look at the driving factor
for people listening to this boy band because of course btas is still on the way but now we have
a contender especially the numbers that they're putting up and of course when it comes to the
the melodies safe to say home was sung in
in English. So now I'm listening to the track, understanding the lyrics. I already already
really enjoyed the melody. And I've listened to a plethora of other artists from other genres to the
point where for me it's about song structure and then the overall, usually it's song structure.
Oh yeah. And then sonically, is it pleasing to me? That's my litmus test for if I like the
track or not, if I don't understand the lyrics. Home from W-E-I is.
English song. So now I can understand the lyrics as well. I already was messing with the melody.
The melodies throughout this particular EP is through the roof. Like literally I think when it comes
to them and the melodies, that may be a focal point that I saw as far as the potential. Like the
melodies is it's very, it has a very distinct range. And of course when it comes to the out of the box
structure. I think it's I would say is this like more formulaic. I would say like think of your boy
band like the Jonas brothers or big time rush like the overall camaraderie as far as the
not the camaraderie but the overall structure. It's very pop-esque if my in my opinion and of course
it's K-pop but you know I just wanted to bring it back as far as why I like the the group in
general. The melody stick out to me a lot and I think if you listen to it it'll probably make you
think of a lot of other songs as far as the structure and everything as far as in the quality
you know it's always subjective to you but to me personally i ended up putting home on my actual
2025 playlist so you know shame's plug as far as my link tree is towards the bob anyways um
when it comes to w e i um they did receive Asian film awards i was like hold up now but when you look at
jang dong gun and his industry experience as far as 30
plus years in film and TV.
And you look at Tang,
uh,
W-E-I, I don't know if you're supposed to pronounce it.
Way, a wee-I or W-E-I,
because the O-U-I entertainment that they're under,
I think you just say the letters.
Anyways, I may be, uh,
miss speaking with that.
But tang way was in,
uh,
Tang W-E-I was in notable films such as decision to leave,
long days journey into night,
black hat, the golden era,
office a tell of three cities.
and of course interestingly enough he collaborated with chris hemisworth and numerous hong kong co-producers so
when you look at the asian film awards and jang dong gunn tang way or w i being the recipients
and being awarded march 16th of this year in hong kong you come to realize that not only are they
acting as far as coming up or the rise of fame but now musically as well people are flocked to home
and home is one of the better tracks i've heard in the year of 2025 as far as from the k-pop um genre that
i cover of course so now whenever i'm judging it in that landscape i think home may be one of my
favorite tracks i'm not going to lie to you like if you listen to the track you quickly come to realize
while I'm comparing them to groups like Jonas Brothers or Big Time Rush.
Like I really like the overall melodies and the structure of the track.
And of course, would they be an English sung?
Now the lyrics resonate to me a lot more.
So with that being said, that's the main thing I was wanting to get into.
As far as Home being the standout on this EP Wonderland, definitely click my link
in my bio.
Let me know one of my social medias.
Would you be diving back in the K-pop arena and listening to W.E.I.
or will you stick with the norm as far as BTS?
