Starting point is 00:00:00 First off, before I get into what I actually want to talk about, I have to say so people don't think I'm hating, West Side Guns and Then You Pray For Me album is out now on all DSPs, right? With that being said, I got to get into it because this is ridiculous. Y'all telling me, West Side Gun has been putting out albums since 2005. Now call me too young to cover certain stuff, but this is ridiculous. There's no way you're going to convince me
Starting point is 00:00:33 in any stretch of the imagination that it is acceptable for anybody to have a whole album series of a title of Hitler makes zero sense. You're going to tell me that somebody to sell records has a complete franchise
Starting point is 00:00:56 of albums titled Hitler. I don't care what type of artist it is. That is outrageous. That's not nothing to even condone, use in any sort of imagination. It's almost like if a country artist, and obviously I'm making a very, it's going to be a different type of correlation, right, in a metaphor, but isn't going to be a reach of a correlation, maybe. It's like if a country artist, actually, no, that's not it. Let's use a different race. It's like if a Latin musician artist made a whole album of just KKK titles, right?
Starting point is 00:01:42 I mean, we might as well at this point. That is honestly insane. I came on here to talk about West Side Guns album because, you know, I do listen to all hip hop. I give every age chance. It's not really age buyers or, ageism. I'm not an aegis. Is that what they call it? What they call it? Anyways, that is just ridiculous. At the end of the day, to name your album, multiple albums, Hitler, it's just insane. I don't care what you say. That's just insane. I don't care. Imagine if Kanye did that.
Starting point is 00:02:18 I mean, Kanye's already trying to play off the ewes, which is Yeezus and Jews, which is why he trademarked it. If you look it up, he trademarked U's like Y, E, WS. That sort of stuff, it's kind of weird. Because if a Latin musician or, I mean, obviously, a white musician wouldn't be able to do it at all. But if a Latin musician or a K-pop musician started to put out KKK titles or they started to put out Jim Crow titles and start to play off of that, we wouldn't accept that and we wouldn't be as open or receptive to that type of rhetoric being spread, right? So when West Side Gun has a bunch of albums titled Hitler, it's like, how far and how low do you have to stoop to try to gain more revenue? I don't understand the whole integrity in selling it for streams.
Starting point is 00:03:18 I've never understood that. Like, obviously, you try to do things for more optimal streams, but to sell your integrity in a way to gain more revenue and streams and I know somebody's going to be like ah it's not that serious I mean it's just a title right so you telling me that
Starting point is 00:03:35 once again if a K-pop artist or a Latin musician put out an album titled KKK or put out an album title Jim Crow then you would be like oh he's just it's just freedom of expression that's essentially what West Side Gunn is doing
Starting point is 00:03:52 with the Hitler title for one two three four five six seven this man has eight albums really nine he has a side b of albums title hitler that's just insane and that's what i was um i was blindsided about that because i don't even think that's that ain't that's that's not even something to to try to have any type of creative vision about because that's not it so at the end of day i was going to get into his album obviously i said at the beginning of of the segment but that just that just threw me all the way off and there's no wonder that um he's really not talked about as far as the mainstream releases because that type of uh marketing marketing
Starting point is 00:04:37 to me falls in the category of outrage marketing and i'm just not for it so anyways click my link tree in my bio let me know one of my social medias what you think about west side guns album and then you pray for me out now on all dsps and also what do you think about my point about the whole whole Hitler sequels that he has. And do you think it's offensive or not?
