Starting point is 00:00:04 that y'all will this turned up in St. Louis. I will never leave you all for that long again. I'm coming back. Don't worry. You know, I said I was, like, taking a break and all that shit, but I'm right back on the road. It's hard for me to stay away from y'all. I really do love you. And, you know, you never know.
Starting point is 00:00:25 I'm like, I don't know. I might get bored over the road, so I'm making some music and see where it goes in the next little while I'm up. You know, I said I was taking a break, but I'm right back on the road again. It's hard for me to stay away from y'all. You know I love you.
Starting point is 00:00:43 You never. know I might get bored and start making some new music on the road. We'll see where it goes. Dot, dot, dot. Now, that was from the one and only goat, mascot, and just pioneer of the hip hop wave, Aubrey Graham. Of course, talking about how he is missing, giving us new music all the way back to just four days ago and his same. Louis show so fast forward to current day February 17th yeat has just announced that he's adding a phase two to his 2093 album and guess what it includes Drake in one extra song I love how he says plus one extra because everybody knows that that song with Drake is gonna get stream a million times more than whatever song he's gonna add with it so with that
Starting point is 00:01:44 said of course some people may point out the desperate factor of uploading a Drake feature to your album after it's already came out trying to cite that maybe the streams aren't looking the way he thought it was but to counteract that I think the way that yeat has been promoting in 2093, his overall first week sales as an artist. Like if you don't know, Yeat is not a huge artist when it comes to first week sales. I mean, his biggest first week sale was with afterlife and that sold $55,000 first week, which obviously is an accomplishment to underground artists. But as far as Yeet, who's currently now under capital records, I believe that's going to sell way more than that.
Starting point is 00:02:38 So this is already by far going to be his most successful album. Just simply off of first week sales alone. But with this last album that released last year, Afterlife, selling 55,000 being his biggest first week sales ever, because Life, the album before that and 2022, that sold 30,000 first week, geek pack. No, two alive, so 32,000 first week. and then up to me
Starting point is 00:03:11 so like less than five and that was back in 2021 so less than 5,000 first week so obviously he's not the huge the biggest artist when it comes to first week sales but I do believe that when it comes to Yeat is always the core aspect of his fans coming to support his music and the organic appeal because now that he's on a major label
Starting point is 00:03:32 it's just going to blow those numbers up even more so this will by far in the way be his most successful album obviously he's adding Drake to his album making it even more of a boost because the yeat and Drake track all the way back in let me see if I can find it all the way back in October 16th 2023 beat out the one and only germane as the first person shooter track that came off of for all the dogs was competing to be number one, but guess what it was competing against?
Starting point is 00:04:16 Well, this is a PG podcast, so we're just going to call it IDGAF with Dracon Yeat. It was competing with that track. And of course, because Germain is not the artist that people think he is, it ended up faltering to a Yeet track, and Dray and Yeet ended up having the number one on Billboard's Glee. global 200 charts be making it yeats first ever number one on the billboard global 200 and guess who that was assisted by of course the goat so it reminds me of a line where it's just keep popping into my head
Starting point is 00:04:57 of course with the reoccurring theme of hip hop overall sales declining where drake said that if he left this game it'll be a bunch of orphans but if he stayed in it it'll be a bunch of corpses because I ain't going to lie to you. There's really nobody breaking the veil as far as the ceiling of sales when it comes to hip hop besides Drake. All these artists who claim to have the greatest fan base in the world is selling around 100,000 copies first week, which is impressive, of course. But then when we compare it to the overall field, country, pop, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallin, things of that nature. you get to see that what Luke Bryan a lot of different genres are putting up overall numbers as better than hip hop and it will look even worse if Drake wasn't dropping that's what I'm trying to say so with Yeet putting out this track with Drake after already having so much success with IDGAF obviously this is going to be very anticipated as not only did the song go number one but then the song came back again to be number one during October 15th.
Starting point is 00:06:12 So a return to number one again after it was knocked off, making it the fourth longest number one rap song of 2023. But of course, that stat was updated October 15th. So the biggest thing I want y'all know is that obviously his fan base is going to come out and say that Yeet is going to carry because that is just what the Yit fans say at this point. But I will remind you that technically they're not wrong with the whole Yeet had a lot to do with the track, even though Drake is my favorite artist, obviously. Yeet had a lot to do with the success of that track because if you don't know, Yeats is the one who created it all the way back in 2021. Yes, the date and timeline for this creation of a number one track in 2023 was created all the way back in late 2021, where Yeet was dropping snippets of
Starting point is 00:07:04 the track periodically over the next 18 months and guess who picked it up you can never say that the boy ain't dedicated and there's a reason why he's on top is because of the dedication so Drake saw that picked it up and now is the number one track when ye you know I'm not gonna say he couldn't get there on his own but he didn't but before Drake so of course the song IDGAF was sampling the British jazz to a Z month I can't pronounce that
Starting point is 00:07:43 1977 song The Tunnel Every popular song Known the Man Not known the man But all the more popular songs on the charts Probably
Starting point is 00:07:54 Has a sample implemented To gain more worldwide appeal Because subconsciously You're going to listen to a track With the sample And think to yourself That this is
Starting point is 00:08:06 sonically pleasing because you've already heard it before. It just raises the probability of you actually liking the track, which is why most of the most popular artists in the world use samples in their music to garner the masses. But this particular track, I don't know what to expect, because obviously the name has came out, which the actual track title, I think, is as we speak is rumored to be as we speak that is the track title featuring drake and then the other track is supposedly titled never quit now i don't care about never quit as long as as long as that track is just not atrocious i would probably give it a listen because i'm a listen to drake regardless i mean his first musical offering in twenty twenty four i'm a give it to listen
Starting point is 00:09:07 but as far as never quit being attached to the track i don't think it's going to be that great you know it's all about drake and what he can do for you as far as statistically so this type of doc drop which reminds me of video games i think should be implemented more often i remember nicky minage uses strategy with pink friday two releasing that in december uh gag city d oc type bonus tracks coming out after with press play with Pluto the track with Mariah Carey I think when digital releases are in the music realm you should be able to add to it and give your friends offering if you have something already in the tuck like obviously don't just throw something out but if you have something that you could give your fans that adds to the album artistically I think you should
Starting point is 00:10:04 have some type of DOC drop to just keep people engaged. I mean if Netflix switch from the binge model to an episode a week, there's probably a reason for that. And I think albums should also have DLC type releases, not even before, which technically you would call that a single, but after, well, post-album launch singles. I think that should be the norm going forward because certain people aren't even going to put out albums because the whole model right now is putting out. random singles hoping to catch fire on TikTok to boost their overall sales which I'm not mad at it but it seems like Ice Spice has taken the crown as far as using and implementing that strategy because Laura knows that she's not going to put out an album anytime soon so with that
Starting point is 00:10:52 being said yeat Drake 9 a.m. PST as we speak a lot of people are going to be anticipating this track because like I just said, yeat literally gained and achieved his first number one ever simply because Drake was attached to the track. And I think with this actual album being successful on like streaming wise and then adding Drake, he's going to blow these first week sales
Starting point is 00:11:25 that he's been putting up as far as afterlife being the biggest one with 55,000 first week, I think he's going to blow that out of the water and probably sell 80 to 90,000. If I was to stretch it, I would say 100, but I know that's a large range. I'm going to say 80,000 to 85,000 first week, simply off of the fact that I've never seen him break 100. So I would say this by far and away would be his most successful album.
Starting point is 00:11:51 So I already puts it above afterlife. So it has to be above 55,000. So I would say 80 to 85,000 first week for Yeat. But of course, for the track, I can't wait for it. Drake's going to go crazy as always. I mean, he may give us some more half of Zamb bars, you know, that puts him out for the night. But, hey, I guess you have to wait till 9 a.m. PST. So with that being said, click my link tree in my bio.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Let me know one of my social medias. What do you think about Yeat and Drake being the most unexpected iconic duo in the past six to 12 months? And do you care that Yeats' album, 2093, is making such ways? in the hip-hop industry right now.
