Starting point is 00:00:00 So apparently, Drake was supposed to be on this track. Now, that is what the internet is saying. Because New Turbin, a song produced by Bugs Ronan, was initially previewed September 6, 2021, during a live stream where he basically hinted at a, You Won't Believe This Type Collab, and everybody thought they heard Drake at the end. but when this was actually released it was solely ye on a trap people thought like it was some
Starting point is 00:00:36 it was going to be some mind-blowing feature and ended up just being yee now why am i bringing this up in 2023 because of course if you haven't checked the presses if you don't if you don't live under a rock you probably know that drake is set to release his album for all the dogs so i had to bring this up because it's just another indication of drake potentially giving somebody a feature and maybe after they announced it in a premature way, taking it, for lack of a better word, away. So taking it away because of the premature announcement. Now, did he say its name?
Starting point is 00:01:17 No. But if y'all do remember, got to go back down memory lane. Trippy Red found himself in the same situation where he, his producer, which is attached to Trippie. rap so it reflected back on him but basically had the track god's plan with drake right they prematurely played it at some club and somehow mysteriously god's plan comes out for a drake single and you know the rest one of his most recognizable songs to this day so for this track new turban to potentially have a Drake feature but then for the song to come out solely by Yeet
Starting point is 00:02:03 I'm not going to say he messed it up but somebody fumbled the bag on Yeat's team speaking of fumbling the bag that is something that Yeet has not been doing this year as his album
Starting point is 00:02:22 Afterlife did debut at number one on the billboard rap album chart that's very specific because if you don't know morgan wall and taylor swiff has been running the charts but basically yeat with afterlife made number one on billboard rap album chart basically selling 55 000 first week his highest debut in his career so what does i tell you i think his previous album did around 33 000 i don't know if that was called life or two of a I think it was called life. Anyways, that's besides a point. His album before Afterlife, which came out this year, sold around 30,000.
Starting point is 00:03:05 So to go from 30,000 first week to 55,000's first week is exponential growth, especially for artists like Yeet, who is seemingly independent. Now, I've looked up Jeffin or Geffen records before, and basically he's not. independent to like to the core but the distribution that he uses as a certain type of distribution that's not necessarily one of the big boy major labels and music hopefully that makes sense he's not with a sony he's not when a warner a umg he's basically under a distribution model that's more underground kind of like he has help but not the amount of help that some people will like to say he does you know calling somebody industry plant you have to have certain information so that
Starting point is 00:04:03 people will believe you and for me from what i've seen yeat is majority independent like independent wise he's mostly that because a lot of these other artists have certain playlist spots promotions that basically Yeat can't get at this time. So I will say he's mostly independent. Now is he fully? Of course not. Doing 55,000 first week, no matter what you
Starting point is 00:04:35 say, is a very hard task to accomplish. And Yeet has done it. What else? I think that was basically it. I just wanted to talk on this talk about this track because it's not like Yeet needs Drake. I mean, he's literally on the rise
Starting point is 00:04:50 year over year he's increasing his engagement so it's like he's one of the up and coming rappers in a new age to look out for and best believe me Drake definitely has seen that potential and I think we'll see the capitalization of that potential on for all the dogs when they eventually comes out so anyways click my link tree in my bio let me know one of my social media is what do you think about new turban the promotion for it and then it mysteriously coming out without that promised blow your mind feature do you think yeat drop the bag on his end or do you think he never had a feature in the first place
