Starting point is 00:00:03 Now ladies and gentlemen, when it comes to this particular artist, this is the first time I've ever covered this regga tone slash track slash R&B artist singer and producer. So I had to do my journalistic due diligence and essentially speaking, I looked up the meaning of the track that is currently the 31st most played in Mexico currently. as young sister and Cremely came out with a track that I believe is a cuss word but I'm gonna say it for educational purposes so anyways when it comes to Kulo a cool a Kulu I don't know I'm probably cussing out up a storm right now but is Spanish language slash trap urban track right but the meaning of Kulu is playful slang for but really more provocative for the A-S term. But then, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:01:07 I was like, damn, look at the state of hip-hop. Like, what's going on? So when I say, it was for educational purposes. That's essentially what I mean. Because Kul-Kul-L-U is essentially their type of slang because it's short-handed for C-U-L-O. And he turned into the Q-L-O-O. And it's a flirtatious play off of a person's butt or A-S-S.
Starting point is 00:01:31 You guys. See that? So anyways, when it comes to that educational breakdown, I mean, where else you're going to get there except for a notorious mass effect, right? Shepard. All right, my fault. All right, so let's move on. When it comes to young sister in general, he was born in 1996. And what?
Starting point is 00:01:49 Hold on now. He's born from Santiago, Chile. Hope I'm saying that right. Chile? Chili? I don't think it's pronounced chili, but I'm ignorant. My fault. When it comes to that specific fact, one of my favorite rappers is Russ.
Starting point is 00:02:02 And I did some research, of course, because I was thinking to myself, hold up now. Did we just find Russ's long lost brother as far as Santiago? And then I realized I was even more ignorant as Russ is from Sikakis, New Jersey. But then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? So I was a little bit off with that one. But young sister is from Santiago, Chile.
Starting point is 00:02:25 And when it comes to that, he's a Chilean rapper, reggae tone. I already talked about that. as far as him and his start he started with a local band of 2011 his debut mixtape was sister nasty at 2015 where he blended a bunch of a plethora of genres and of course his breakout projects if i don't butcher them too badly they were lomas kulo de two insta that came out 2020 was an ep featuring Cassi Armored Dave Verano, which had 19 million plus Spotify streams, phenomenal accomplishment. And then he had Kamenemos Junotos with Polamai West Coast. Now, I want to just give a disclaimer.
Starting point is 00:03:10 I speak English, obviously. So if I'm cussing up a storm because it's supposed to be a PG podcast. But, you know, when it comes to the overall provocative nature, it's in Spanish, and I'm doing it for educational purposes. so hopefully you excuse me for that when it comes to being recognized and setting his sights on a niche he essentially is known for pioneering Chilean trap influencing a lot of different Latin urban soundscapes and when it comes to him being an emerging Chilean producer known for his melodic urban beats I could definitely see how people gravitate towards his music and specifically to track
Starting point is 00:03:50 Kulo because one of the things I do as far as if I can't understand what they're saying, I listen for the sonics, if it's sonically pleasing, and I also listen for the structure of the track. And you can definitely tell he's giving a lot of rap verses throughout this specific track. And you can tell where he gets the melodic hook type of recognition from. And his overall stature, as far as in the music game, seemingly is more of a romantic tone with catchy hooks and just to go off of that even more i mean coming off of his most successful track and quite some time his track wife material just came out just to basically cement it even more on how he really brings home the romantic tone and his music and if he didn't know young sister is also under
Starting point is 00:04:46 sony music entertainment chili s a so when it comes to that you could kind of see how he's also popping to the point where Sony had a step in and say, hold up now. We have to get this artist because his fan base is going through the roof as far as in his specific region. If you don't know, major label's main job is to get your voice and your music out there to the masses. So he definitely has some work when it comes to that specific standpoint as far as the global reach. But he has 10 plus million plays as far as on Spotify. His YouTube views go crazy as far as chili being here. his majority audience so 60% of his audience is from chile and it's a million plus in his first month so
Starting point is 00:05:29 his global stature is soon to come but what he's doing in chili is insane as him in his overall stature in his specific region i mean he's just dominating so now if sony which they are so he's under sony as of right now if they ultimately put together a great marketing strategy i could see young sister's legacy blowing up even more as a Chilean trap innovator as he already is off to a great start with his track Kulo being the 31st most played track in Mexico so that being said click my link to my bio let me know one of my social medias what do you think about young sister in his latest track kulo and of course his latest or his just released track wife material and when it comes to Chilean artist, would you be willing to give young sister a listen?
