I have to pose a question.
Who had the better lollipop flip?
Was it Drake and party next door with third track CN Tower?
Or was it Young Michael's latest track, What's Up?
But then, you know what I'm saying?
I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop.
Like, what's going on?
As when we get into the 42nd most popular track in Mexico,
You have to realize that when it comes to interpolating, sampling, and artists of Little Wayne status in music, there's all type of checks and balances that you have to overcome to even make it on DSPs.
Because of course, like we saw with the Juice World situation, and I believe it was steam, he ended up sampling.
If you do not go through the correct route as far as getting it cleared for the track, they will take everything that that track earned.
It's going to be exactly like Andrew Garfield off of the network.
They're not coming for half.
They're coming for everything.
So I would assume that young Michael definitely went through the legalities as far as putting out this interpolation of Lil Wayne's lollipop.
As if you don't know, young Michael, which is a Latin trap musician, once again, another genre-less or genre-bending artist that showcasing the evolution.
of technology to be influenced from places and genres that you otherwise wouldn't
of without the advancement of technology but anyways with that being said young
Michael is under wave music previously known as Kiwi media group and essentially
there are South Korean entertainment company focused primarily on K-pop so how
they ended up getting an artist like young Michael is very interesting as when
you listen to it and of course
with young Michael and ultimately her collaborative efforts through putting out music under the wave music,
which if you go to What's Up, that's currently going crazy on the charts,
you can see the Wave music group at the bottom of the single What's Up.
So I do believe that with their marketing strategies and them branching out of the K-pop scene
to get a Latin musician, because if you don't know about Young Michael,
So just know that originally she had a breakout project back in 2022 that was titled
Trap Kitty as far as that gaining a lot of sound cloud momentum.
But when it comes to the wave music being in the South Korea and then when it comes from
when it comes to young Michael being from Puerto Rico, you come to realize that not only can
other major labels outside of your region help you out in their specific region that they're
specialize in as far as marketing but they they can also help you out in your hometown as in
twenty twenty four young michael reached number 11 on billboard's top latin albums with her
album titled a tt so with that being said she has been openly a queer artist and she's more of
a bilingual type of lyricist and if you listen to the track what's up you come to realize
that she has flows on flows if there's one thing i can notice especially
being a connoisseur of the hip-hop genre is that people who put words together and have
oats and have different flows that they go to on the same beat usually that lends them to be
under the mantra of a lyricist as if you're rapping is one thing but if you're flowing along
with the beat and then when the beat changes a little bit and now you have a whole different flow
to attack that type that section of the beat I think that's the due diligence you have to have
the lyric is to not make it stale because at some point the lyrical miracle spiritual is going to wear off but
the way that young michael flows throughout this entire track using new flows for the second verse
using new flows for the first verse in the second half of the first and second verse um it really
switches it up to the point where young michael added her own flare to this particular track
to the point where i would say and propose the question once more who do you think had the better
Lollipawley Poo Flip, Young Michael with What's Up or Drake and Party Next Door with Cian Towers.
Now, of course, when it comes to Young Michael and her latest single, just know she does
have albums and other tracks out as far as the year of 2025 because, well, her last album
was 2024, which went number 11 on top Latin albums.
but as far as singles she had a track out with ladeo carillon titled amg that came out April 2nd she had a track with
Russian and Omar quartz and clarence and that came out March 13 so she's put out two other singles
this year besides actually three other singles this year besides her her main single but they're all
with other artists like her third one was
Truino, her third one was with the artist Truino that was titled in La City.
That came out April 10th.
But as far as her latest track, what's up?
That's out now on all DSPs solely by herself that's rising on the charts to the point
where it's the 42nd most played track in Mexico.
