Starting point is 00:00:03 Now, of course, when it comes to Atlanta, there's no check balance needed because these two artists are indeed from Atlanta. And someone would say they're the most iconic artist currently coming out of Atlanta. Now, of course, Future is already cemented as one of the most iconic Atlanta musicians to ever grace planet Earth. But then we come to Young Thug, who's also one of the more iconic artists from Atlanta. Why do I say that? Because these two particular artists have a track out that's titled Money on Money. Well, I wonder what the subject matter is. Now, all jokes aside, we all know that with Young Thugs case, right?
Starting point is 00:00:49 And everything that he's went through, he can't have certain things and his lyrics when it comes to gang activities and just overall imagery. He can't even wipe his nose. Like what happens if he needs a tissue? You know what I'm saying? So with that being said, future on this track kind of makes up for it because future gets into a lot of, I'm not going to say gang type bars,
Starting point is 00:01:14 but it's a lot more aggressive. And you can tell a noticeable difference between the way that young thug delivers his verses between versus, uh, yeah, future delivering his verse. Because of course, the lyrical content is
Starting point is 00:01:30 very minuscule as far as how young thud could go about delivering his bars whereas future could get into all type of gang activity on his bars right so i think when it comes to the actual legalities of saying certain things as far as him uh pleading guilty to participating in criminal street gang activity as part as as part of the ys l riko case and being sentenced to 15 years of probation after serving more than two years in jail. You come to realize, this man has 15 years of this. I'm not saying his fans won't be able to put up with it.
Starting point is 00:02:10 All I'm saying is, Young Thug's subject matter is going to be abysmal because he cannot get into what we are accustomed to hearing from him. It's almost as if the sentence let him be free, but now his artistic expression has forever, and indefinitely bit in prison because he can't talk about and rap like he usually would on certain tracks, which I think is why it's taking so long for Young Thug to put out a track because now every time he's in the booth, he may say something like get a person wiped off this earth, right?
Starting point is 00:02:49 And then the producer got to run into the booth like, hey, hold on, hold on, hold up. You can't say none of that. You want to go back to prison? So now you got to change that up and talk about money, which, you know, comes back to the original. sentiment of the track being money on money because guess what y'all thug can only talk about so much at this point we know him for the gang land activities wiping nose slime you out all type of stuff i mean i remember young thug had a whole thing about slime and now he came and say it in his music ain't that crazy it's almost as if the judge knew that balancing young thugs freedom but then
Starting point is 00:03:27 imprisoning his artistic expression would be a hard thing to handle for young thug and i think that's the case as of right now because with him having a long history of collaborations with future as far as the whole joint album as far as back in 2018 2017 with the album super slimy which debuted in number two on billboard 200 you come to realize that one of the things we enjoy future is the same thing that got him caught up in the RICO case, right? Sometimes when you're an artist and the way you make your living is saying certain sentiments that maybe or maybe not as a reflective or reflecting your actual personal life and the authenticity, the authentic, I can't even say it.
Starting point is 00:04:13 The authentic nature of you delivering certain elements from your life into music, people resonate with to the point where now if you can't even speak on those things, will people still resonate with your music? That is basically what I'm trying to get across. as being authentic and genuine in the music industry as far as your personal life, people are more inclined to believe you are putting out higher quality music if they can pinpoint what you're talking about to your real life. Now, I know a lot of people are probably pushing back on that sentiment saying, well,
Starting point is 00:04:46 a lot of these rappers be capping. Well, guess what? A lot of these rappers aren't. And the ones who aren't are the ones who's blowing up as far as in this specific movement, as far as the subgenre of hip-hop. I'm not going to say what it is, but let's just say, let's just call it indictment music, right? People are putting out certain tracks that when they go to the courtroom and they're pinpointing certain crimes, they're going to actual lyrics that says, oh, I shot Bob with a blue shirt at 4 p.m. while I was driving in my Lambo. And then just so happened, there was an incident in his hometown where a man with a blue shirt got shot by a person in the Lambo.
Starting point is 00:05:25 It's like, come on now. Like, what are we doing? Then, you know what I'm saying? I was like, damn, look at the state of hip hop. Like, what's going on? So that is why I call this indictment music because I can't feel sorry for the artists who trade off their freedom just to have money in the music industry to showcase the real, right? They're really in the streets or they're really doing certain things. Really doing certain things could get you in real consequences and have your freedom taken away and put you in a real.
Starting point is 00:05:56 real prison. So ironic that Young Thug was let out, was freed behind bars, but now essentially he is still behind the prison that is holding his lyrical content at bay because he can't say certain things, almost as if we let you free from prison, but you are still behind bars. So that being said, click my link to my bio. Let me know on one of my social media. What do you think about future and young thugs' latest track Money on Money? And do you think that a young thug would be able to overcome not being able to speak on or rap about the subject matter that got him to this highly acclaimed position in the first place?
