So the YB fandom is back again.
And with this, it's very interesting as young boy came out the gate not releasing music,
but he did not make his fan base wait as long as Young Thug did as far as wanting a new musical offering right out of prison.
Now, he didn't release the first day out because I guess that's played out.
You know, I guess it was like T. Grizzly, you got there.
Like we can't jump up the same anticipation for a first day out like you did.
And, you know, to be fair, if you're not a rapper, rapper, which, not too, too,
he definitely got bars.
But if you're not like a lyricist, I believe first day out does you know justice.
Like, what are you going to be talking about?
You're going to, the first two bars are going to be like, man, I'm out.
And then, yeah, listen to my music.
And the rest is just going to be, I kill people type bars, right?
So if you're not lyricist, I think first day out really does you know justice.
So with that being said, the music video for where I've been slash shot call and is out now.
it was released May 2nd exclusively on the Y on the young boy never broke again YouTube channel
which is definitely bringing me back to my main point as far as people exclusively releasing music
on YouTube when they're under major labels now I think this is the marketing strategy especially
for young boy because it's worked in the past but for other artists they've been using it as a slick
way to get off music where they are monetizing but not necessarily
putting it on DSPs, which is kind of a cheat code because if you're trying to compare somebody
to their peers and they're not putting out music on DSPs, it's kind of hard to understand
what the engagement is officially, right? Once Billboard goes through and take out all the bots,
if that makes sense. So when it comes to engagement and me looking at these different artists,
I like to look at Billboard because they always justify and validate the numbers. When it comes
to Nav, Navaraj, his album, which I believe,
Um, his album that came out not too long ago, which he was basically projected to sell like 80 or 90,000 first week.
That's what he ended up selling on Billboard, like 10 to 15,000.
So that's what I'm saying as far as Billboard validated numbers because a lot of people, um, mess around with the numbers.
And it's a smoking mirrors type of game.
So if you don't know what you're looking at, you'll get confused about who's actually impacted the masses.
So when it comes to NAF on my way to Rexdale.
that was released, what was this release?
March 28th.
He was projected to sell like 80, 90,000.
Let me see what's actual first week was.
Nav first week.
NAF ended up selling the 19,000 first week.
So if you go from 82,000,
which was the projections that estimated first week sales, right?
It was initially projected to sell
83, 82,000 units first week.
Billboard steps in, they look at the numbers, and they was like, I know, I know that ain't who I think it is.
I know that ain't who I think it is.
So with that being said, they went through, validated the numbers, and realized that a lot of them was food gazing at best.
They basically came out with the official number and said that he sold 19,000 first week.
So that's what I'm saying as far as Billboard and seeing songs on DSPs that really officiate or validates numbers.
when it comes to YouTube, I'm not saying YouTube numbers is not official.
I'm just saying when it comes to Billboard, especially in music.
That's the best way to understand who's actually out here impacting the masses.
I mean, when you look at the charts, there's a reason why Drake and Kendrick are the main ones carrying the hip-hop flag currently.
And it's hard to keep that longevity on the charts because as we've seen with played with Cardi, as we've seen with,
Ken Carson, who both those, both of those artists had number one albums when they came out
the gate as far as King Carson more chaos, as far as Playwood Cardi and his album music.
But then you look at the charts now, and there's nowhere to be found.
Well, to be fair, Playwood Cardi's album music is still currently the eighth most played album
in the world.
But when it comes to Kendrick, he has the third most play album.
When it comes to Drake, he has a sixth most play album.
And those albums came out way before Playwood Cardi and King Carson put out their album.
So that's basically why I look at Billboard a lot
because it really tells you
who has the real longevity in the game of hip hop.
So and currently,
Ken Carson's album is not on the charts at all.
So, and then the only tracks that Playboy has right now
is with the weekend as far as still on the charts.
So longevity really showcase who's the big dogs
in his music industry.
So when it comes to the weekend,
when it comes to Drake, Kendrick,
as far as the up and coming rappers
interestingly enough
anxiety by doche is the 10th most play
track in the world currently
and that's been on the charts for eight weeks
so that's why I like
to look at billboard numbers because it really
showcase who's really out here
actually putting in work
when it comes to people tuning
into their music. Social media
and YouTube
I'm not going to say it's not official but it's
easier to manipulate the numbers when you come to
the actual official
platforms as far as to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon music, and you actually chart and you stay on the charts.
There's one thing to chart is another thing to stay on the charts.
As we've seen with Travis Scott, who's unequivocally a big dog, I'm not trying to say Travis Scott's not.
But when he came out with his days before the rodeo re-release, and it went number one on the charts,
and it fell completely off the charts to the point where he made history as the first artist ever
to have a number one album and drop off completely as far as the Billboard Top 100,
album list. He made history for it being number one to first week, completely dropping off the
Billboard top 100 albums the second week. First time we ever seen that. Kind of crazy.
So I would be interested to see what NBA Young Boy can do with his upcoming musical releases
on DSPs. As far as YouTube, he's currently going crazy. I mean, five million views when it's
been out for, what, five days? That's insane. So he's doing phenomenal.
on that front, I think
when he comes to DSPs, he's going to make a
huge impact. I'm not saying
NBA. I think NBA Young Boy could have a play
with Cardi like effect on the charts
when he puts out his album. But
we'll have to see what the longevity is looking
like for the foreseeable future
because right now, the
track he put out on YouTube is straightfire.
So I don't know why it's now on DSPs,
but maybe they have a marketing plan because
of course the YB fandom seems to be
back in effect. So
with that being said, that's basically all I wanted to get into
just let you know that a young boy is of course out of prison and he is now releasing music
when it comes to him releasing music just know that it's going to be at a frequent pace because if you
know anything might be a young boy that man records like his life is dependent on and you know some will say
because of him getting out of prison you know maybe his life does depend on it like maybe his label's like
hey don't put out music if you want to right and see where you end up i'm thinking you know that's
definitely a theory that's been thrown out there. So it's very interesting theory. That's why I'll leave you
that. But with that being said, click my link to you in my bio. Let me know on one of my social
medias. What do you think about Young Boy's latest track where I've been slash shot calling on
YouTube? And do you think the young boys album would have, will have staying power and lasting power
on the charts when it eventually releases on DSPs?
